HiBid Reviews Summary

The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

I have purchased many items through HIbid, then all of a sudden I started getting declined with no explanation. I ask one auction company why they denied me with no response. Then I ask another auction company, they stated they denied me because another auction company had denied me. I always pay my invoices and the only disputes I have had is when I have received gold jewelry that was advertised as real and turned out to be fake or not the gold content that was stated on the item. I just think it's unfair that a customer can be black listed and not even know why.

This is probably the worst Auction site I have ever used, all I can say is don't bother with it. They run on a good ole boy system, reject bids for no reason, and sometimes don't even ship the items you won. Just save yourself the frustration and stay far far away from it. The auctioneers are HORRIBLE, rude, aggressive, nasty, and they have a rating system that the buyer can't actually see, which I think was also stated by someone else previously as well. Just steer clear of them, the entire site sucks.

Bidders rights
March 26, 2022

HiBid has a major problem intrinsic in their policy and protocol models in dealing with issues which arise between bidder and auction house. The first problem are the reps who answer the phone for help. They are not competent and appear to be just employed for talking head purposes. They offer no real help. If a bidder has a legitimate issue with a auction house you are out of luck as to reaching a solution on a equitable plain. The software also does not allow a bidder to cancel a bid - in case you may change your mind a couple of days before the auction takes place, which happens! In cases such as that. The Auction House will tell you to your face - to bad! Trust it happened to me. There are many other problems with this HiBid model. I will advise you - bidder be ware of this platform and go place your bids on other platforms!

Risky
March 16, 2022

My son made a purchase through HiBids auction. He won the bid, they took his money same day. The item never showed up. Tried contacting HiBids and was given a number to call for the auction. No answer after calling several times a day with many messages. Called BiBids and was told there is nothing they can do about it. If you're feeling lucky give them a shot. Or buy a lotto ticket.

How is it my max bid is hit everything I bid when there is no other action on something until the last five minutes. I dont mean this has happened once or twice but almost every auction. My bid goes to the max dollar even when I intentionally tried to be outbid by a low max. Then trying to pay for your items is a freaking nightmare with such a poor interface... auction houses not using their registered names and emailing next to impossible to decipher invoices with no idea what name they use on hibid.com. Emails go unanswered on "to be" shipped orders, so they can resale items. If you are lucky enough to get your items via make e pect the shipping and processing fees to be inflated 29.00 to mail a record what a effen joke then its mailed in a freaking envelope for 29.00 dollar records cost 3.19 to mail. This 26.00 for a envelope and the time it takes to print a label and tape it up. I could go on and on and on... I'm done with these jokers the whole lot save yourself the headache this site is trash. 1.8 out of five on the BBB SAYS IT ALL

Shameful what Hibid allows.
March 3, 2022

Hibid should be ashamed of ruining something that could of been platform for the good auctioneers that do legitimate business on there site, by allowing illegitimate and immoral ones deceive through customer as long as they get there cut! How pathetic. The good auctioneer should get together and start a respectable company that people would be happy to support for sure! Why is so hard to be successful and do the right thing? Many people do accomplish this unfortunately not hibid. What a shame!

Doesn't seem honest, items have no bids for days than all of a sudden you are out bid in $2.50 increments. And usually the item gets more than it is worth when new. Looks as though bidding is set up to make you spend more which is quite common with online auctions! Hi I'd is no different

I searched through auctions of autographed sports memorabilia of Mickey Mantle, Joe Demagio, Ted Williams, etc. The certificates of authenticity are fake and so are the signatures. I have purchased several of these and took them to JSA for authenticity and they were all forgeries. Just a heads up to look up the certification companies and you will see fornyourself.

This site has a lot of deceptions. Not the matching an 18% buyer's fee stay away from this site as mentioned above it is run by nothing but thieves. I've been gone a group of coins for $80 come to find out it was $80 a piece for coins that were worth about $30 a piece. When I told them that it was a mistake that I didn't realize they told me I was being forced to pay I told them I did not have that kind of money cuz I did it three or four times on that site. (Came to about $1,300) then if that wasn't bad enough I go to pay a bill and my credit card was denied I look at my bank and they took out $150 as their so-called that deposit.

SCAMS
January 29, 2022

The auctioneers will always raise the bid price themselves on purpose (ILLEGAL!) until it reaches almost original value and the the taxes and buyer premium make up for that difference. NO SAVINGSSS AND DAMAGED ITEMS! And theres no return most of the time. Overpay for used (claimed to be new) and damaged items! Stay AWAY!

I joined HiBid a few months ago and started bidding on a few items. The first couple items I won were ok transactions albeit with high shipping fees. Then the real fun began. I had a couple winning bids where the auctioneer immediately charged my credit card but then didn't answer my emails about setting up shipping and this went on for weeks with me chasing them down trying to get items shipped. One auctioneer kept my money and then conveniently disappeared from HiBid with no way to contact them. Another auctioneer sent me a shipping invoice for an item which I immediately paid in full. Then the auctioneer came back two days later and told me I owed MORE because he had miscalculated the shipping cost. I told them this was unfair, so next thing you know he left a negative feedback that put my feedback score in the red and blocked me from bidding on anything else until I paid the extra shipping.

I will say that there are a few honest auction houses using this site. These auction houses send timely emails, use fair shipping practices, respond right away to questions, and leave positive feedback. But there are way too many bad apples that are allowed to do whatever they want on this site. I currently keep a big spreadsheet of auctioneers that are good to work with and ones to avoid. The ones to avoid are marked in red, and let me tell you my spreadsheet shows a lot of red.

Bid at your own risk. You've been warned!

Bids placed by?
December 23, 2021

There was an auction a fair distance (180mi) that I "watched". Two large items I would have been willing to travel. One item was not a needed item. This was done over 10 days from the live auction. (Online only). I never went back to the auction online. When the auction was over, I got an email that said thanks for the payment and I won one item. It was the low cost not "needed" item. They never got a bid on it and I was charged the starting bid but X 84. It was sheet metal that they were charging by the foot. It was 10 pieces. So now I don't know how to get them to acknowledge I did not bid. I don't know if the auction platform of the auction had the ability to place bids on your behalf. They do increase you max bid I do know.
I assume they are not going to take responsibility for it.
And while filling out this review. They request you leave a photo. I went to to auction amd copied the auction photo and they say that photo is not 300x300 so can not use it. Wtf?

I have recently started to buy off of Ontario Hibid. Although some purchases have been as expected, there have been TOO purchases that have been not as described, fake, or damaged. There has been VERY poor customer service after the fact. Some items are never received and I have been fighting for a refund (still not received after 6 weeks).

Please, please, please be VERY careful when buying from here. You often dont even save that much after the auctioneer fee and shipping (ultra expensive).

Not happy at all with Ontario Hibid! I would welcome a representative to contact me and offer assistance on how to get my refunds for never received items, damaged items and not properly described items. If that ever happens, I will post another review with the updated information.

Avoid!

Constantly being overbid by bots on silver and coins. I know what the items are worth and no one would overpay the spot price of silver by 20% or more EVERYTIME! If you're gonna try to drive prices up, cheat smarter!

I have enjoyed browsing the various auctions in my area, occasionally buying. It is a site for the selling items no longer needed or wanted. Value of the items is like beauty... In the eyes of the beholder.
