Poor Customer Service/Unfair Rating of Buyers
August 11, 2022

I don't recommend Hibid.com or Stritzinger Auction to anyone. Use at your own risk. They put all the cards in the hands of the auctions that are members and will not listen to a buyer when the buyer is being rated unfairly. My situation in a nutshell was that after winning a $5 auction that I thought offered shipping, I was waiting for the shipping charges. After only four days, the auction company (Stritzinger) dinged me for non-payment. I called and was treated very rudely even though I was willing to pay the $5 despite the fact that they were not willing to drop the flat item in an envelope to mail. Then because of that four or five other auctions that I registered with saw the one negative feedback that I received and they left comments that looked like I had stiffed them, but I had not even won an item with them. Roll it all up and my whole account is blemished because of the one misunderstanding with Stritzinger. Hibid didn't care, didn't want to help. So, there it is. I'll find another auction site and get on with it, but if I were you, I'd do the same thing because if you ever have a problem, Hibid will not lift a finger to help regardless of the circumstances.

Coins
July 31, 2022

To be sure, there are many reputable auction houses around but when you are met with one that is not, this platform will, in no way, stand behind what is right, what is just or truthful if you are taken advantage of by a disreputable auction house. I have had my lots i have won at fantastic prices refused to be sent to me because they were "unfortunately" lost by the auction house who decided, after the fact, that they did not want to sell it for what i won it for. Crooked auction houses have overcharged me, refused to provide me with a written running total of my balance due presumably because of the fact they cannot add correctly or because they just want to keep more of your money and despite missing or lost lots, still refuse to return my money i have sent. People at this platform will blather on and act sympathetic to you but, truth be known, they won't do anything on your behalf to their auction house clients who pay them part of the money they are stealing from you. As a bidder, if you find yourself in such a circumstance, you are on your own. Hibid is only as good as the auction house you are dealing with.

Too much control
July 31, 2022

Auctioneers control all, even before auction starts they can hold your bid or cancel it. Just say you want to bid and they got a buddy wants it, means you got no chance and if you ask Questions or complain they band you from all there auctions ( too much control should be monitored) i had won 3 bids and paid right way and paid shipping rt after bid. I bid this certain auction and they left my bid on pending? Stayed like that for a while so ask to have bid cancelled. They said I had to be checked out ( what the hell) hi-bid already did that and they had my credit card. So i ask to cancel my bid on that item lol so they band me shady sight want go back deleted my info

Bid on several items, won 2. Went to pick my merchandise up and the lady running the thing was EXTREMELY RUDE! She needs another line of work where she doesn't have to deal with people at all. The items I bought were not described properly and one of my items doesn't work! I lost on this deal! No more online auctions…. If I can't feel it, see it and test it before buying, I don't want it. I threw away money on top of the lady being one of the RUDEST people I've ever encountered!

Scammers
July 6, 2022

Hibid is full of scammers. The company itself does not care about the buyer. No Guarantees. I have been told they ever let the seller know who the high bidder is, NO GOOD. I was locked out of bidding on two occasions. When I sent my complaint to Hibid with the Error Message that I received, all they said was your fine on our end. Yet to date I can not increase a bid on ny item. Scam Scam Scam!

I hate the new website, it's not user friendly at all. A lot of people that use it agree. You made worse instead of better. Have no desire to search anything because it's so frustrating.

This site could really work but instead it favors the cheating auction houses and punishes those bidding. It allows auctioneers to go in and see what the bidders max bid is and drive the auction up to their max bid or enter bids after the auctions close and the bidders were shown online they won till they look later and see that they no longer did. This site allows auction houses to RATE CUSTOMERS and kick them from bidding but DOES NOT allow customer the return to rate the auction houses so customers would know which ones really are cheaters. Hi Bid protects those cheaters and punishes the customers instead. Changes need to be made, if an Auction house can rate customers then the customers should be able to rate them also, maybe that would force them to be more honest and stop cheating the customers. This is why HiBid has such low ratings among consumers.

Scammers! Beware!
June 13, 2022

Hibid came to our business and literally robbed us. They took our inventory and did not give us any invoices or receipt of what was sold. Only one customer came to pick up their purchase. The rest of our inventory was sold to so friends, family and there so call loyal customers. We got absolutely nothing out of doing business with them. Can you believe when we ask for proof of purchase for our merchandise (They called the police on us!) Business owners and consumers please stay away from this company. This was certainly a learning lesson for us. Giving advice to you… Always Always read any reviews on companies that you do business with. Stay away from Hibid!

They make false representations on coin grades and quality to induce bids well above market value. Buyer Beware. The raw coins offered here are not what they represent.

There is a company called Prime Public Auction that uses HiBids system for their auction. They clearly do shell bidding and even change your price on the website. I called HiBid to let them know what is going on and instead of helping they changed certain things on the website to make it harder to find out with Prime Public Auctions is doing. It makes sense because Prime is their customer, but they are enabling this company to commit fraud and are an accomplice.

Stay away!
May 24, 2022

Hibid is nothing but a software platform many shady auction houses use. Hibid shields these auctions houses by allowing them to leave feedback about bidders, accessible to each other, but hidden from the bidders. Bidders have no way of knowing what their internal feedback is until they been denied the ability to bid. Bidders have no recourse or any way of rating these shady auction houses. HiBid hides behind their canned policy response and fails to hold auction houses accountable for their libelous practices.

Beware re-sellers of this auction house. Most houses I bid with on HiBid are just fine. Pictures are not always great, and will use a stock photo'(s), but throw in true pictures. It's when they use ALL stock photo's and no actual item pictures that violates HiBid rules. I am quick to let them know that this is a violation of their terms. It does help. This auction house however was different. They tried to pass off items I had not bid on; trading out items that I HAD bid and won. Six of my items came up missing. One I found buried under a pile of clothes. The "young lady" that was checking in buyers told me "she did not know it was there", and then immediately was texting when I told her it was my item (I did give back the wrong item, and took mine). I also text Ms. Styles to let her know "I still would like my items that I had won". No response. This is where HiBid could help. However they will not. I currently bid with 4 local houses in Houston. Most are decent. ATX and 4CS, as well as Martindale are pretty fair and honest. Stay clear of Lamont Estate Auctions by Emily Styles. They are not honest. I hope this helps another re-seller. I respect the auction houses, and want a good working relationships with them. HiBed could Vet their Auction houses better. However the Auction houses should be responsible, and shoulder, repercussions for being shady or dishonest. Beware my fellow re-sellers. For me; this house is dishonest.

M&M Auctions and Herb McCandless #4719 Started a black ball against me on Hi Bid. He claimed my card didn't go through, No call from him. I had to track him down weeks later on Facebook. Avoid this auction house in SC. I tried to meet with him in person to pay him cash. He woulnd't even meet me to pay off my bill. He said he had my things in his living room and sent me a pic to prove it. He is the only one among 45 different auction houses that had this problem with my card... NO one ever had this problem just him. He then put negative comments on Hi Bid and then other auction houses after reading what he wrote started to decline my bidding and then they added the same comments, which acted like a domino affect. One auction house even claim I was denied to bid so I opened an account under my husband's name and tried to bid, However, my husband has his own account and has for a long time... this is BS. This has all been defamatory towards me. I can't look at my account on there to see what they are saying Hi Bid doesn't allow you to do that, So Bidders are in the dark. Therefore, I have been defamed by several auction house, because of ONE comment from M&M in Myrtle Beach SC. I feel there needs to be a class action law suit against this auction site for allowing this to happen to ppl with no way for the bidder to defend themselves. I feel discriminated against and this is not right. Someone please start a class action law suit..

Not worth the risk
May 11, 2022

So I've been using hibid for about 2 years now and have never had a problem. However I recently spent a sizable amount of money on a lot on the site. When the items arrived they were holy and entirely not what they were listed as. When I called the website thinking that they would be like eBay and stand behind the auctions listed on their platform and that they would be against people fraudulently selling items on their website. However, what I found out when I called the website is they merely lease their software to whoever will pay for it and no matter how egregiously misleading the description of an item is, they will not get involved and you are entirely at the mercy of the people running the misleading auction, who obviously have very little motivation to make you whole. Screw these guys, use eBay instead.

No Recourse
May 7, 2022

Today, after doing much research, I had my bids rejected by an auction house in Wisconsin. I called them to find out why and they told me it was because of one negative feedback. To put this in perspective, I've averaged about $20,000 per year on HiBid for the last 4 years. About 4 years ago I gave negative feedback to an auction house in Albuquerque NM due to their misleading practices, and in turn they gave me negative feedback on HiBid. Recourse? None. There is nothing a buyer can do to eliminate or explain negative feedback, and there appears to be no statute of limitation. HiBid MUST be held accountable as it is their platform that allows this injustice to occur. There MUST be a recourse for buyers to appeal bad feedback, and one bad feedback should not prohibit a buyer from participating in auctions around the world. This is my livelihood, this is how I obtain my inventory for my online store. HiBid has crippled my ability to feed my family and, as of now, I have no recourse.

I gave an auctioneer a 1-star rating on Google for numerous reasons although I left out details in the comments. In retaliation the auctioneer has blocked me from bidding in ALL HiBid auctions for LIFE. Nothing I can do so guess I'm screwed. How unfair is that?

They charged me $11.25 handling fee and $3.95 shipping first class mail. $15.20 total - more than the item. Handling fee of $11.25 REALLY.
