Jason did a great job for us, very professional. We will request Jason again as and when we need the service again
Handy was able to provide a service professional (Mark) with as little as 24 hours notice to set up my treadmill. Mark was knowledgeable in his work and did an outstanding job in getting my treadmill operational. Handy/Mark exceeded all my expectations.
It wasn't the first time the professional just didn't show up. No notice, nothing and it's xmas so I was desperate when my regular cleaner failed me.
Handy.com has attempted to enroll me into an annual membership twice without my permission. These two separate attempts happened without my knowledge, and I was not aware of the enrollment until I noticed the $99 charge on my credit card. In one instance, I never interfaced with them at all. Google Nest uses their app to find local technicians for service appointments. So I scheduled the appointment with Google Next and a service technician came the following day. I didn't even know Handy.com was involved until I saw an email saying a technician was on they way. And then I received a charge on my credit card for $79 and then second, unauthorized charge for $99. This is a scam and I'm sure it happens to thousands of people without them even knowing it.
Marissa was very thorough and took her time doing each area of our home until it was spotless. Went above and beyond in several areas. Would highly recommend.
If I could give them zero stars I would. I purchased a Nest thermostat through the Google store and added an install by Handy.com. The install was supposed to take place on Dec 9,2022, between 12-2pm. No one showed, I received no contact. I contacted them on Dec 12 and received a new appt for Dec 14 between 12-2. An hour before the appt, I received a reschedule notice for Dec 16 between 12-2. A day later I receive a reschedule notice for Dec 16 between 2-4. The day of the appt I receive a reschedule notice for Dec 18 between 12-2. An hour before the appt I receive a cancelation notice that states that I have successfully canceled my appt. No request was ever submitted by me. I contact them by phone and of course get someone obviously in a foreign country who provide no help other than to tell me the appt was canceled. When I demanded answers they hung up. I called back, went through the same BS only to then get transferred to someone else. Within 10 seconds of speaking to that person they hung up. Subsequent call attempts have just led to sitting in a hold queue. Keep in mind my previous 2 calls were answered within 20 seconds so they have obviously placed some note on my number. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use this company. I will get a refund from Google and hire an actual professional for the job and do nothing but rip this company.
If I could give Handy no stars, I would. We retained them through Wayfair to put together furniture. They "rescheduled" at the last minute, on multiple occasions, and then failed to appear. When we finally said not to come and refund our money, they made us separately contact Wayfair even though they have in our system that they were hired through Wayfair. Very unprofessional and I would recommend against using this company.
1st time clean by Rebecca B and she did a very thorough and efficient job. I have a disabled adult daughter and a very nosey cat, Rebecca was very friendly and focused on her tasks. I was very pleased with her attention to detail and she managed to clean every surface. She was able to complete all the tasks, even the extras, in a timely manner. I would love to welcome her back anytime and I highly recommend her to others.
Save yourself a headache. I've gotten good people and questionable people. A housekeeper waxed my ceramic floors. Went to the car and never came back after stealing my prescription medication. My latest issue was a cancellation I made after seeing that I was being charged around 200 dollars to put a tv on the wall which already had a bracket. After booking I realized they drained my credits to make the price seem lower. Customer service was impossible and after talking to 2 people, the first extremely unhelpful, I got a refund. I decided to close my account because of the customer service and questionable billing practices. My credits were refunded to me. Money that they took out of my account and refunded for the job, they took away from me again when they refunded my credits. They charged double what they would have charged through Walmart. They are worse than used car salesmen.
I paid for my Handy service through crateandbarrel.com when I purchased a dining room chandelier light fixture. The tech did not show up for the scheduled time on Friday. Customer support rescheduled for the following Monday. The tech that showed up on Monday was woefully unprepared (did not even bring a ladder) to hang a large 30lb light from the ceiling, nor did he even know how to do it. I had to help him having myself hung lights before. I paid for Handy so I could relax and not deal it because I didn't have a ladder, but here I was dealing with it because because the "professional" I hired also didn't have a ladder. It was a two-person job. The support line refused to send a 2nd person unless I paid for one and then I'd have to wait another 5 days to reschedule.
The tech informed me that he often gets sent to two-person jobs alone including mounting 85" TVs without assistance getting paid $30 by Handy while Handy charges the customer $300. In some cases, the customer even pays extra for two techs and still only gets sent one. The installation of my light was very difficult even with two people. We had to stand on my couch—almost falling several times—since he didn't bring a ladder. Luckily for me, the tech refused to give up until the light was installed even cancelling his next appointment. A one-hour job took almost four hours. Customer service was unsympathetic towards either of us (refusing to send him help and refusing to do anything for the inconvenience I experienced). They even blamed me for booking through Crate & Barrel. Customer support is located overseas and they truly could not care less about the customer experience. I wasted two half-days (not to mention my own work I had to turn down) dealing with this nightmare of a service. I gave it two stars instead of one because my tech went above and beyond and the light did ultimately get installed.
I scheduled through Lowe's to have a smart thermostat installed. I was given a calendar with dates available and prompted to choose 3 different dates that work for me. Handy came back with THEIR CHOICE of date out of those 3. Less than a week before the installation date I got a text and an email stating that my service had been cancelled. No one bothered to call me. I emailed and asked why and they said they could no longer accommodate the date. See screenshots of the message and my correspondence. Never even bothered to reschedule the appointment, and even when I asked they just said they couldn't and I could call Lowe's for a refund. So now I'm up a creek without a paddle because I don't think I can install it myself, guess I'll call another company with better customer service. From reading the other reviews it looks like I dodged a bullet anyway since they apparently tend to no show on appointments. I will NEVER give this company my money.
My Nest thermometer said I had an issue. It said to schedule through Handy. I did. It was re-scheduled 4 times. Ten days later, still no appointment. I still have an issue, and am waiting for it to quit at any moment. Thing is, if I had called someone, they would have been here within the first 24 hours. Yes, I understand there are busy times. But 10 days and no one is not understandable. I live in Michigan, it is winter so my furnace is kind of important.
Robert did an excellent job in all facets of this job! He was on time. He cleaned up after himself.
The job was done professionally and in a timely fashion. Great job!
I would give them zero stars. They cancelled 2 hours before each time they rescheduled. I had 4 appointments rescheduled before I finally cancelled them and had a handy man come put my table and chairs together. They are the worst. I will never recommend them or use them. Their customer service does nothing for customers except say I understand and sorry. They also take 4-6 weeks to issue a refund. All unacceptable in my book.
I heard about Handy through one of Mikayla Nogueira's posts on Facebook and I thought I would give it a try. Alberto was AMAZING! He put my murphy bed together for me today and he did a fantastic job! There is NO way I could have done that myself. I will definitely be using this service again! HIGHLY recommend!
From the time I scheduled an appointment and paid in full, to 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, I never had any communication regarding my appointment. The handyman begin right away, assembling the vanity. Then, I had another knock at my door. There was another handyman standing at the door for the project. How awkward! Both handymen were very professional and worked together nicely to complete the projects.
They did a beautiful job, and I highly recommend them both. However, because of the poor communication from handy.com, I give the company an average of a three rating because the company gets a 1 but their handymen get a 5. I fairly rate an average of 3.
I think the concept if handy.com is great and if they can get their communication issues resolved, I think this will be a great option for handyman services.
They are on time to my home for assembly, they are kindest, polite, helpful and have heart on their job, I am appreciate about them, Thank you very much
This is one of the worst companies out there. I contracted with them to install a mirror through Wayfare. They canceled 4 times, 30 minutes before each appointment. They did have a man show up once who refused to install the mirror saying he was only paid 20 bucks and would not put his name to it. Go elsewhere!
They canceled on me 4 times less than a hour before the service appt. There customer service only says "no one was available" and reschedules. You cannot talk to a manager, Google onlys tells me they only can refer me to Handy. I have lost 8 plus hours waiting on each appt that was canceled by them. Both Handy and Google are horrible trying to work with them to get the installation I paid Google for the service.
Arthur did an amazing job. He is an absolute perfectionist who made sure everything was just right. He did an excellent job cleaning up, was very professional and personable. All questions were answered to my satisfaction.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
