This is the worst company ever they take your money up front, talk you into a service contract then their people don't show up! They have screwed me over twice now no shows too clean my house. I have called customer service twenty times today of course it's a answering service with no response! This company is not reputable and if their service people don't show up oh well they have your money! I know have too report them and change my banking account info so they don't try too steal more money for no services rendered! This company needs too be shut down!
Reviews on their app/site are fake! Terrible experience! The handyman, Carlos A., responded in the app saying he had "finished the job and was all done"... the guy never even showed up! Can't even call anyone to help! RUN! Don't fall for it like we did!
They sent a handyman to help us with assembly of a sandbox we ordered for my son. He had no idea what he was doing, did not bring any of his own tools, was at our house for THREE hours, and assembled it incorrectly. I paid $100 for our sandbox to get trashed. When I contacted the help team at Handy.com, they refused to give me a refund or take any steps to remedy their abysmal service.
Their only offered solution was to ensure I was not matched with this handyman again. As if I was going to continue to use Handy.com after this fiasco and their terrible response.
This has been the worst experience in my 52 years! They lie and say your pro cleaner cancelled at the last minute like 20 minutes before the scheduled time and 3 days before Easter. They never had one assigned to begin with! They don't have enough workers(I can only guess why) I have emailed 2 different people telling me they were managers(really)? I know better than to hire a company without doing my homework so this is somewhat my fault, but I'm pleading with anyone who thinks it's a good deal it's not! They are scammers ready to take your money
The 1st time they came out one cleans everything was fine but they never showed up again for subsequent visits but they continued to charge my account. No one responds back to emails nor do they have a customer service number which is pretty shady if you ask me. I encourage you guys to write a Better Business Bureau review, I did.
I bought a deep cleaning service for my sister ahead of her bringing home a premie baby and they canceled on her 15 minutes before the scheduled service. They couldn't reschedule until late the next day (after baby would be coming home). The original service request indicated the necessity due to a premature baby multiple times. They offered a $10 credit in consolation, which is so ridiculous its laughable. My sister and her husband will now be awake all night finishing up cleaning (even though she should still be in bed) to bring their premie home. This is the worst service I have experienced. We relied on them to help us during a time when help was truly needed and they canceled on us 15 minutes before promised service. We will never use Handy again and I will absolutely tell everyone I know to never use their (not unique) services either.
Not impressed with the cleaning service and they charged me double their price quote and there is a $99 cancellation fee. Total ripoff
I booked a plumber using Handy to replace my broken bathroom shower fixture, the water on/off handle was broken and the water would not turn off unless I shut it off at the valve. Handy charged me $174 for this 2-hour service.
As scheduled, at 4:30 pm the plumbers arrived. They had no fixture and minimal tools. They worked from 4:30pm to 10:30pm trying to repair my shower. During this time, three trips to a local hardware store where made. The did not finish the repair and returned the next morning at 9:00am. Two trips to the hardware store where made. At 4pm the plumbers left my house telling me they were sorry, they couldn't fix the problem.
They left me with disconnected plumbing. I had to call in an emergency plumber to fix what they did. I contacted Handy the next day. I was first given a $35 credit for my next service. After several emails I was given a $113 refund. I did submit a claim but my contacts with them are now being ignored.
Handy''s website advertised "qualified professional plumber who will arrive at your home with all the skills and tools to tackle your problem". The people sent to my home were not qualified at all.
The damage Handy Plumbers caused cost me an additional $500 in repairs!
I'd give 0 stars if I could. Tried to book service twice. Both times no one showed. And today I have company coming to stay and too much to get done to clean the house. But guess I'm cleaning anyway since no one showed. Hugely disappointed.
Handy worker Ansley E. a.k.a. Sarah E. was the ABSOLUTE worst. Extremely unprofessional. She did spot cleaning in various locations of the house. But here is where her personality really "shined"; she said I'm going to my car to get a vacuum. 20 mins later I walk downstairs to see my door open and her car GONE. She didn't have the decency to care about my security nor fulfilling her duties as a housekeeper. Thank God my toddler wasn't home. If you use this company please don't use Ansley E. aka Sarah E. I'm praying she wasn't setting my household up for any of her criminal associates or that we're not missing any of our items.
This company insisted I pay in advance and never sent handyman. They contacted me through as though they were replying to my service request from Home Advisors. The kept canceling due to handyman callout' and wouldn't credit my card when I canceled instead they gave me some rediculous credit towards an order. They are horrible and even left a bad phone number with my credit call billing listings a completely different company. I have foolish text messages for each time the text me to cancel NEVER Again!
Set up a cleaning. They had to cancel or reschedule my first cleaning three times. The last time moving it to a Monday which I can't do since I work. When I said I would just like to cancel the entire thing since obviously they can't get people to show up and they aren't reliable they told me they would charge me $99 cancel fee. I NEVER cancelled try did. THEY changed my cleaning over and over! I have yet to receive a cleaning. They still charged me. This is a fraud and a scam. Worse. They only work through email and send Robo emails. You can't actually get any real people. DO NOT USE HaNDY
They're happy to take your money in advance even when (I suspect) they have no one to do the work. I bought a bed from Wayfair because they sold it with assembly from Handy. Two hours before my appointment they postponed, now today they've cancelled, leaving me with a bed still packed in a box. Now what? I hold Wayfair every bit as responsible as this dishonest company. I assume it serves them to have your money for a week and that's why they do it. So definitely don't count on Handy to do what they've promised.
A Handy referral was hired to build a desk in my law office. Other than showing up on time, it was a disaster. Fifteen minutes after he arrived, he left without informing us leaving my conference room in shambles with parts and torn boxes all over the floor. Though Handy refunded my money they made no attempt to provide a substitute worker. Instead, only after I asked, was I told I can place another work request. And to add insult I was given a ten dollar credit. I had scheduled appointments that had to be cancelled. I tried calling but there is no posted phone number. This company has the worst customer service. If I could give it a zero rating I would.
The last cleaning 'pro' this app sent me broke my kitchen sink. They then proceeded to book me with the same pro after I had filed a formal complaint, but did not tell me they had booked this cleaning until 2 hours before she was coming. Thankfully they gave me a refund for that cancellation fee but have stopped responding to my customer service inquiries. They also have promised they would call me for the last week and nobody has. AWFUL APP AND AWFUL SERVICE ALL AROUND.
Afraid to admit you are not a customer friendly service. Your website is rife with traps for innocent people to fall into and you are just a money hungry startup
We had Handy cleaner to steal jewelry from our home while cleaning. The company only responds thru email and after doing everything they require to have claim, they claim they sent an approval email but I didn't respond in 14 days which is a bunch of BULL. I have all the emails saved and nine of them say claim approval. This company is a SCAM stay clear!
I HIRED HANDY LAST WEEK FOR THE FIRST TIME TO CLEAN MY HOME. I THOUGHT, OH, GREAT, IT'S SO EASY TO SCHEDULE, FAST AND SUPER CHEAP! I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO MY ECONOMICS PROFESSOR; 'THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH!' WELL, DAMN, WAS HE RIGHT. IT STARTED SOUTH WHEN I HAD A QUESTION REGARDING PAYMENT. I TRIED TO CALL THIS COMPANY, BUT INCREDIBLY, NO PHONE NUMBER! SERIOUSLY! THE YEAR IS 2019 AND YOU DON'T HAVE A PHONE NUMBER?!? F-U! SENT THEM AN EMAIL, BUT GOT A LATE RESPONSE. THE MAID THAT SHOWED UP LOOKED TO BE ON DRUGS. PERHAPS PCP, HEROIN OR CRACK. THROW IN A BIT OF ANGEL DUST AND METH AND YES, YOU HAVE MY MAID! HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GOING TO STEAL EVERYTHING IN MY HOME, SO I TOLD HIM TO LEAVE! HANDY NEVER REFUNDED MY MONEY AND INSTEAD HIT ME WITH A $00 EARLY CANCELLATION FEE! CRIMINALS! THESE COMPANIES, SIMILAR TO HOMEJOY, WHICH WENT OUT OF BUSINESS, ARE JUST MEETING PLACES WHERE ANY MORON CAN GO AND WORK. BUNCH OF SMART-$#*! PROGRAMMERS WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT CLEANING HOMES! RUN, OH, RUN!
Handy has a ton of hidden fees. They have a cancellation fee of $99 and they have automatic renewals of your agreement. So no matter what you end up getting charged a $99 cancellation fee.
Each time I had a house cleaning it only takes the cleaning person 1 hour to clean. However, Handy has a charge of a 3 hour minimum. So they charge me for an additional 2 hours.
It is near impossible to reschedule a cleaner that you like. Many times the cleaners are late and they schedule one cleaner but might change that person at the last minute. So you never know who you will get until they arrive.
I had one cleaner arrive who seemed to be drunk and smelt of alcohol. I felt very uncomfortable leaving them in my house. And if they steal anything, Handy is not on the hook for this.
Very bad service and a ton of hidden fees.
The good cleaners don't stay long. They price you on the size of your house by the approx amount it will take but the cleaner will leave early when all the light surface basics are done (they don't stay and clean baseboards, wipe window seals etc. so you don't get your money's worth). I had this happen on multiple occasions. I called and had the hours reduced, but somehow the app reset itself and my last appointment was back to 4 hours with the cleaner leaving early?! Handy reminds you via text about your booking just short of 2 hours but you can't cancel or reschedule within 2 hours, so you just lose your money; it is EASY to lose track of bookings (and I REALLY thought I had canceled - so if you cancel or reschedule, make triple sure the app settings saved). I have for sure canceled Handy now and will hire a cleaner directly. Skip the over-paid middle man.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
