Unbelievable. I paid for a 2 hours service. The guy came, spent less than 45 minutes. The job wasn't done. The sinks were clogged for the worst. I texted him and never heard from him. I contacted customer service, they said they will credited $35, the added more money on top of that to have another pro to come over to do the same service. Really.? PEOPLE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. HANDY IS TRASH. Picture is below. They are terrible. Stealing people trust, time and money. Damn, no other options, otherwise ZERO rate would be best. They call their worker PRO?
Huge waist of time! I went to their website and followed their directions. I put exactly what I was looking to have done and accepted the time and date offered. I paid in full by credit card. Just before the appointment they cancelled by text and assigned a new date and time they will come to do the work. This happened 3 more times. The last time they emailed me a cancellation saying sorry and said they would refund my credit card payment but it would take 3 to 5 business days.
My wife and I called, offered the same specs and quoted vastly different numbers.
One person said that job would be $139 and offered a discount; one person said the job would be $297 and that no discount was available.
We were disconnected on the calls.
The sales reps are rude and incompetent.
First off there is no way to resolve any issue with this company unless you join their site. Since I don't plan to ever, ever use them again, I don't think so. To be honest the two individuals that put my two patio pieces together, one month apart, they did a fine job. It's the details and the petty thief that has be extremely upset. I repurchased clamps that were not place on the sections the first time ( what happened to them?) and asked them to add the missing pieces to my sectional-12 clamps, this time when they put my table together. They installed 6 of them. Then took the remaining six with them, Checked our house and trash not there.
I am extremely upset about the unprofessionalism of this service. It is extremely overpriced and misleading. There're are multiple extra charges that are not explained. I hired 2 pros to mount 2 large tv's- They estimated the job to take 3 hours- it started at 10am. Only 1 pro showed up. He was told there was only 1 tv and was not notified there was a second person. We thought that the second pro was a no show and the job was completed by 1 pro. The second pro showed up at 1:15 when the job was almost done and was told he was there for lifting and scheduled for 45 minutes. No one was aware that was when he was told to come. I was charged a ridiculous amount of $498 to mount / tv's. I am getting more and more irritated because there is NO customer service number to ask about reimbursement or explain charges. They have not gotten back to me via text or email except to say there was a $20 discount off next service. DO NOT use this app- it is a scam for overcharging and misleading information to the customer with very poor communication with the consumer.
The first red flag for handy is not providing an upfront customer service phone number. Any business establishment offering housekeeping or handyman services should provide a phone number in case of any issue that might arise that requires an immediate response.
Handy is extremely unreliable. They cancel an hour before your scheduled bookings then reschedule you without your knowledge, or confirmation.
I am disabled and I require assistance with housekeeping, today my booking was rescheduled without my knowledge, consent, or confirmation an hour before the "professional" was scheduled to arrive, this booking was made over a month ago.
When I demanded a refund, they deflected by offering me a measly 10 dollar credit to appease my "frustrations".
No you simple idiots, I require assistance with housekeeping, it's more than frustrating.
Like I said, HUGE RED FLAG is the lack of a proper phone number and live customer service.
Don't make the same mistakes everyone else here has made, LISTEN to these reviews, they're all 100% true.
The electrician showed up to to install a 240V outlet in our garage, reviewed the scope of work and said he would pick up the material required for the job. I asked if he had a business card, he said they were in his other vehicle; I asked if he was a licensed electrician, he said yes and that he would bring back the appropriate paperwork. He said he would be gone about an hour, left and immediately canceled the installation through Home Advisor with no further contact and no explanation.
I signed up for six months. My first person admitted he never clean the house before so they do not get their people out. He forgot an entire bathroom, he dumped his dirty mop water in my sink in my bathroom so it clogged my Sink, he left another toilet untouched completely and he didn't have a vacuum so I had to go behind and clean a lot of stuff. Contacted Handy about the bad experience they gave me half my money as a credit to use towards my next visit. I decided to let them have another chance. The guy came yesterday and was worse than the first guy. He did not clean any of my four toilets appropriately. He clean the seats off but not the bottom at all. He didn't vacuum any of my floors at all. And he didn't mop only swept. Also, my shower was left with hair in the drain and soap scum still on the glass door And the little mold and soap scum on the corners attached. My big garden tub still had the ring around it so it was not touched. This was as if no one even came to my house somebody just came and wiped off my toilet seats and charge me a fee to clean my house. I contacted Handy and they did the same offer of half off. This is unacceptable! I told him I wanted them to either send somebody back out today to make it right or to give me all of my money back so I can hire somebody else to do it correctly. They have not contacted me back I asked for a phone call so I could talk to somebody still no word back. I told him I just want to cancel my plan and get a refund and they have not done so or even commented back. The only way to cancel your plan is if you pay a $90 cancellation fee which is absurd since I didn't get good service on either of my jobs. And I had a third job that I canceled because of Covid So I have a credit for that job waiting to get another job out but I obviously don't want to do that. I just want to cancel my plan and there's no way to do so because they don't have anybody to talk to you on the phone don't get sucked into this like I did! It's impossible to get out of and if you have a problem with the work that's done there's no one to contact to fix it other than to give you some portion of your money back which is unacceptable when the job is not done at all!
Do not use this service it's a crap shoot. You won't know who's coming, or their experience but you have to pay first! Good luck trying to get your money back for unsatisfied services as well! Some guy and this lady showed up smelling like urine and under the influence to clean my home! After an hour of the 5 paid for and scheduled, I kicked them out, tried to get any money back but they only offered me the chance to rebook another "pro". I asked for a call from someone but they only do things via email. It's ridiculous. DO NOT USE HANDY.com! STAY AWAY! They DO NOT vet their pros at all!
I contacted Handy to hang a pocket door. Their installer attempted to do so then advised the co the door was defective. This was a lie. I had to get another contractor to do the work. Be careful they want the money up front. Thus you are their mercy.
I worked for handy pro for about 3 months. As I worked for them I would get different jobs, and it just so happened that one day as I was working for a customer, they told me how much they had paid handy for the job to be done, the customer had paid handy 167.23 to get some tables and chairs assembled, handy paid me 22.00 after that I performed a few more random jobs and it was always the same handy overcharging customers and underpaying providers, please don't waste your time with this company, go apply at task rabbit
If I could give them zero star, I would. I hired a professional to install a masage chair for my customer. The chair footrest fell off within hours of install. I contacted their customer service and got an email that they'd give me a $20 credit for my next booking because of the bad experience and I could rebook another pro to fix the issue. I clicked on the link and it sent me to the booking page where I would have to pay again. Confused I responded to the email asking why I would have to pay again. No response. They usually are responsive but not anymore. I sent them a few more emails to no avails. They seemed good until there was a problem. Use them at your own risk. Although their website says if you are not happy with a job, they will send another pro to make it right. That doesn't seem to be the case for me. I asked them to send the same guy back to fix the problem and they didn't do that either. It's not like I didn't give them a choice. It's exhausting working with them. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Update: I got a response and they said they're going to refund me $20. Why $20 after I paid $79 for a job that was badly done? This company is a joke.
Another update: They tell me I need to file a claim and provide proof of ownership, value of item and the damage. This happened yesterday. Shouldn't they have some type of record showing I booked a service with them? I even sent them a photo of the damage. All I want is for them to give me a full refund on the booking and they'd rather put me through this painful process to discourage me. I had to hire another person from HOMEADVISOR to fix the problem and that costed me $93. Beware. This company is very dishonest. I wonder how they are still in business.
This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a vendor and I gave it every opportunity to turn around. In the past year I have had two cancellations last minute, one no-show, two substandard cleanings, and several professionals show up late. I kept thinking it will get better and it never did. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I opened my credit card statement to see a $15 charge for no service once again. This is the second time that I was charged this mystery amount. I never received a response when I wrote about it the first time. I guess it was lost in the shuffle while you were refunding me for a service that never took place in February.
I am a patient man and I understand occasional problems arise, but this is a pattern of incompetence. I have tenants and this performance reflects poorly on my business.
So I got a phone call from this company stating that a customer and each my a service I said OK I'll be there between 1 and 2 They stated that's fine how much does it cost I replied with 199 to 299 they said OK I will give you a call back they call me back is schedule the appointment so I drove to the customer house customers outside stated did they rescheduled with someone else I'll still just got off the phone with them this morning in a said they want me to go to your house he replied no they said someone out here sunday so I drove all away from downtown Chicago to the suburbs didn't get paid nor that a call back from them this company is based out of New York and I'll be very surprised Shady company. Please be aware of this company don't use them you can't call them direct only by email us the first clue that is not good.
Ordered 2 pieces from wayfair. Paid almost $200 for assembly by handy. Guy didn't finish one of the pieces because he said screws were missing. After he left, my son noticed he put the table legs on backwards. Replacement screws arrived and my son picked up where the guy left off and discovered 1/2 of the work he had done was wrong, enough screws were there without new ones. I reported this to Handy and they want to offer free assembly on next order. There won't be a next order. The "pro's" can't follow instructions. Fraudulent firm
If I could I would give ZERO stars!
I was suckered into joining this service. I used them ONCE... the cleaner stole several pair of pants from me. When I told Handy about it. They literally could care less! They made me file another formal complaint in which they made me get a notary sign off on the cost. Exhausted by the 12 emails (that's the crappy way they communicate with complaints) I gave up.
They also willingly took my $99 subscription when I wanted to cancel this service due to the thievery. Do not use this company!
Have to pay for the cleaning and a cancellation fee - total charge: $200.-! Waste of money! Don't subscribe! They say they're cheap - they are!
I signed up for 6 months of house cleaning. So far they have never made it out here. Twice, they have cancelled one hour in advance. Then they re-schedule for a date without consulting me. I complained and was told if I don't like it, I can pay the cancellation fee of $99. After all, they unhelpfully reminded me, I agreed to these terms when I signed up. Right. Silly me, I assumed they would hold up their end of the bargain and actually clean my house. Nope. I deeply regret getting involved with this sham of a company.
Twice now, I have had scheduled Handy - twice they have failed to show. Will not answer phone. Called Handy and they refuse to call their pros.
Don't use them. Wayfair, please find someone else!
I bought a shower door from Wayfair and booked someone from handy.com to install it... The appointment confirmation states that it could take up to 2 hours for their services... Well 4 hours later the installation was completed... 1 st- The handyman did not have the proper drill tools, so he had to go to home depot... Then he started installing the ONE door that I had purchased from Wayfair...
Now, I am being informed by handy.com that I am responsible for the 2 extra hours that the handyman took... WHY?
I believe that this is a set-up... They say less hours so you can get their services and then when they are at your place they stretch the time so they can charge more... I was never told about this in advance by Wayfair nor handy...
For the future customer that plans on using handy services, be aware that they WILL charge you for extra hours that the handy man takes...
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
