The handy was very professional, arrive early and did a great job putting my bed frame, which I couldn't do, thank you.
Rafeal is very professional and did very good job. Excellent work. Appreciate it Rafeal. A note for Handy.com... you should pay little more to good handymen link Rafael. Appreciate it and we will request again when we will need any job be done. Thanks again
Ivan was on time getting to our house. He's very friendly and professional and did an amazing job. So glad there's a company helping people do things that some don't have the time and patience to do it. :) it's a little pricey but it's worth it
Unfortunately I have had several unsatisfactory experiences with service people in the last 18 months. I bought a 24 year old house that seemed ok at first glance, but needed many improvements, repairs, replacements, etc. The shoddy work I've witnessed has been more than disappointing. HOWEVER, the service HANDY provided thought its installer, Max, was beyond expectations! He not only did an excellent job and my chandelier is BEAUTIFULLY installed - he even sent his wife to get the proper light bulbs that didn't come with the light fixture! She didn't know my area but got to the Home Depot, purchased the light bulbs, and Max didn't even charge me for them! And since I am older, I was particular that he should wear a mask (he did!) AND remove his shoes when he entered my room with it's white carpet (he did!) Max was a lovely person to work with - however, it does sound like he's saying BOLT when he's actually saying BULB. Lol... we had a good laugh about that. Super nice person, friendly and easy to work with. Just can't say enough about him (and his kind wife!)
Sici did a fine job cleaning each room. Rooms were nice & tidy. We enjoyed having her as a house cleaner.
I would like to request Sici come back in December.
Thank you
Luis was on time, polite, knowledgeable about the job, professional and performed the job with exceptional skill.
I have experienced a full year of Handy's services for home cleaning. We had our home cleaned once every 2 weeks. Multiple times we've had to send a message because the "pro" didn't show up on time. A couple of times they would say they were on their way, but an hour or so later we'd get a message from Handy that it was cancelled. I've had someone show up to the house, "go to move their car" and then just leave. Had another one show up without any supplies and we had to provide everything. We had to complain to Handy because multiple times the "pro" forgot a room or didn't clean certain items in the home. We were not able to rely on the scheduled times nor the quality of the service. Our experience was that about ½ to of the cleanings resulted in some type of issue (i. E. late/cancelled appointment, poor cleaning, etc.). We've tried to cancel our 1YR plan, but couldn't. We are pleased to move to another service once the plan is complete in a month.
Definitely would recommend the Handy App and Audra specifically based off our first experience. I feel much more at ease starting the week with a nice clean house! Audra made a great first impression and the house looks great too!
I booked a handyman job with Handy that required multiple visits, which the app is NOT set up for. I selected the original Pro I worked with for the second job, but on the same day of the appointment, Handy appointed me to another Pro. I contacted customer support to let them know of the app error and their resolution was to CHARGE ME for the mistake! I have gone back and forth with their customer support team, writing over 15 emails to date, and this issue is still not resolved. Originally I would have been satisfied with a full credit for the service I did not receive, but now I would like my money back because I don't ever want to work with this app ever again.
I booked two services for one day - neither contractor appeared to have gotten the notes of what they were going to work on, and thus were unprepared for the job. As an example, I was clear that I needed replacing of a two story chandelier, and the contractor said he had no ladder when he got here.
In both cases, we made the most of the situation, and both contractors were able to provide some value for their service. However, I learned that only 25% of what I paid went to the vendor - he was apparently receiving only $75 total for three hours of work - and he had two people to do the job. Meanwhile, I paid nearly $300 to Handy. Had I known ahead of time that the booking fee was so much more than the contractor would get, I would have gone another route.
My handy worker was awesome Byron showed up early, brought his own tools & adhered to all covid19 guidelines. He was extremely professional and worked super hard to assemble our bed set perfectly. I'll definitely request handy service again. Kudos Byron!
My first experience using Handy was awesome. The techs were very professional and mannerly. They assembled a bunkbed which came in 6 different boxes. I was very satisfied! The second time I used Handu I had a totally different experience! The tech was late... made an excuse of getting lost. My home is very easy to get to from where ge was coming from. Then it took him a half hour to leave his vehicle and ring my doorbell! He smoked and talked on his phone. I even open the door and waved at him to come in. He turned and ignored me. Once he got inside, he was very disheveled and scattered. I showed him the job and where I wanted the TV mounted. It took a really long time to do a simple job because he kept talking on his phone and taking smoke breaks. And the TV was mounted too high and I had asked him not to put it like that. I was very disappointed and will have to have it redone. But I wanted him to leave my house, so I didn't say anything to him.
I used Handy for the first time and was very please with the outcome. They use very professional and competent workers who get the job done. Will use again.
This is the closest to a "scam" that I've ever been involved in. I signed up to try Handy back in August. I have tried multiple "pros" for housecleaning. Not one has completed the handy list of tasks. Even after cleaning, my home has been left multiple times with dirty floors, toilets, sinks, etc. I have different people coming to my home. Not one of them has stayed for the paid amount of time. Many interrupt me while working from home (after I've stressed, Please don't disturb). Many have not worn masks during the pandemic. The only recourse is not to tip or rate the cleaner poorly. I feel nervous about doing this when the workers now have access to my home. In addition, the workers complain about how little they get paid from Handy. There is no management to speak of. I have reached out with concerns and receive noncommittal emails back with credits (for continued services I don't want!). I did not realize that there was $99 cancelation fee when I joined. Must have been in "fine print." This has been absolutely terrible. Buyer beware.
Currently a "Handy Pro". As an independent contractor use this service at your own risk. Handy is in partnership with HomeAdvisor, Wayfair and Angies List. A round robin of unethical business practices. Do not pay for assembly by Handy on Wayfair. Basically it's all the same company using bots and response templates. A series of apps, marketing and technical algorithms to detach money from the unsuspecting. The "pro" will generally have no idea how to install your gazebo or mount your TV. We generally are not provided details on makes or models of customers items.
As an actual professional contractor I signed up to augment my business and obtain new customers.
They use a flat rate model to entice customers into thinking they are getting a deal. So for example charging a customer $600 to paint an entire 2,000 sq ft home and hiring one independent contractor for 5 hours at $225. That's a real example. If it sounds to good to be true it is. Most people are looking for a bargain and if you use Handy you might find it... or you mind wind up having to pay a real electrician or plumber to fix the mess a Handy Pro made.
If you are a pro do not pay out of pocket for anything unless the customer agrees to reimburse you directly. Handy will NEVER reimburse you... ever.
The naive, cheap and malicious folks are what make this service work. One customer actually thinks they can get a driveway installed poured concrete for $500 in 32 degree weather...
Be wary all the negative reviews are real.
He was very professional and I noticed he really took his time and cleaned every nook and cranny! My apt is very dusty and I didn't even have to tell him twice he was really good!
Megan showed up on time on the day of the appointment. She did a great job installing a gigantic piece of artwork with a wooden frame, quickly and efficiently all by herself. Thank you, Megan!
I booked a 6 hour cleaning for a move out at my folks house. They cancelled 1 hour before the scheduled time. I drove 40 minutes to be there but understood if there was an emergency that might have happened. They automatically rescheduled with my knowledge and you cannot reach them by phone only email. We set another date and they cancelled again one hour before. And yes I drove 40 minutes to be there. Since I was on a strict timeframe I rescheduled for their preferred date which meant I had to take a day off work. If you are wondering if the did such a good job that I forgot the hassle? They cancelled for a third and last time one hour before as if right on cue. Their excuse each time was not enough workers. What? Don't schedule if you cannot cover it. What a horrible company. Cost me time and money.
Margarita did such a wonderful cleaning. Not a spot left untouched. The rooms are shiny clean and smell fresh. She was able to remove a long-standing stain in our bathtub and got rid of the ring around my daughter's computer chair! I would definitely request her the next time. Fast and efficient!
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
