Milenko was my assigned assembler. He was prompt and courteous, kept to the strict Covid regulations and I will book with him in the future.
We scheduled an appointment with Handy to have an electrician install a light fixture. Before the appointed date, Handy charged our credit card the stated fee AND an additional fee that was four times the stated fee. Their customer service was useless. It took days and many, many attempts before we got it straightened out--the fee keeps appearing and disappearing, so who knows whether it's actually gone even now?
In the meantime, after confirming our appointment, Handy suddenly changed it to a late night appointment, which we didn't want. Again it took many, many tried to get an appointment at a reasonable hour. Handy then cancelled just half an hour before the electrician was supposed to arrive. We rescheduled again for two weeks later, and again Handy cancelled less than an hour before the appointment.
We then cancelled the service and said we wanted a refund. Handy sent multiple emails saying both that the refund would be processed in "one to two weeks" and that they could not process the refund. They shouldn't have submitted a charge to begin with before the work was done, and now we have another mess to clean up--and the work never got done.
This is by far the worst service company I've even encountered. It's been a month, hours of our time, and hundreds of dollars for a simple job that never got done. If you have any other option, use it. If you don't, don't get the work done. Seriously, avoid these people at all costs.
This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. I have tried to cancel my cleaning plan 3 times and they keep sending someone anyways. And then they charge a cancellation fee of 50%. Once they even changed the day to Sunday without asking me if that works and I cancelled it but the person showed up anyways and they are trying to charge me. The people who come are just ok, they don't seem to have any real training. Don't waste your money. If you have a problem you can't actually talk to a person.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! If you pay them and the service person who comes doesn't repair anything, they don't refund your money. I paid $158 for two hours of service. After the service person left, I found that nothing had changed. He spent two hours and went through the motions but accomplished nothing. I contacted Handy.com and no one responded for a week. I then contacted Angie's List, through whom I had purchased the service. They referred me back to Handy and the next day I had a response. They asked me to send photos of the work that hadn't been done. Not easy. Eventually they told me that they had applied $79 to my Handy account for future use. I would never use them again so that is no kind of refund for work that was never done. You aren't able to speak with anyone and the service people on line are non responsive. They guarantee their work but only if you contract directly with them. BEWARE!
Vanessa came in and cleaned my place with very little instruction from me. She arrived promptly, did an exceptional job, and left without any concerns or drama. Items were instinctively put away in the correct places without any prompting. Excellent work!
Work was done so completely and way above other experiences with other folks. They were pleasant, quiet, thorough. Would be pleased to have them to the house again.
The Handyman showed up on time. Was polite and attentive. He had prepared for the assembly by watching the installation video at home. Did a great job and left the work area in excellent condition.
- Flake out on me 5 times within the same week.
- Hang up on me when called to demand an answer
- no way to call customer service unless you demand them to call you
- they delete all your messages with the pros as soon as the scheduled time of service is past, even though the pro never show up. Leave you with no track record to follow up
Desiree did such a great job of cleaning our house! We asked her to come back next week for our next booking. Took great care in making sure everything was up to our expectations.
Once again I am thrilled with not only the prompt response to my request but the persons sent to my home. They complied fully with COVID restrictions. They were extremely helpful and completed the jobs perfectly. The guys were on time. They moved the furniture around that I needed without causing any damage to walls or furniture. Whenever I have a need, I always check with Handy first.
We had an outdoor light that needed to be installed and set up. He arrived on time, had the tools for the installation and was finished within an hour. We are very pleased with his service and will call them again. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
I signed up for Handy and scheduled a cleaning. Right as the cleaners were arriving, I was addressing electrical issues in my home -- I did not have electrical service. I had to turn the cleaning contractors away. I could not reach Handy - tried several times using their app and website. I left messages, heard nothing. The cleaner came with different information than Handy gave me. Handy was unreachable and could do nothing but send me messages asking for a good rating and when my "next" cleaning will be.
Their disorganized, terrible system was failing before I could even use it.
I DO NOT WANT TO USE HANDY AND WOULD SUGGEST NO ON SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE.
The worker showed up with a short ladder. Next day with proper ladder and helper. They did a good job installing chandelier. The next day a charge for over $1300 appeared on bill. I had already paid the installation cost the week before. Trying to resolve problem but nobody answers their phone #*******730.
For Handy. Not a good sign.

The worker was good and well qualified. The company charges way too much. The job took 20 minutes and they charged for 2 hours at over $90 an hour.
Cancelled twice with no notice. Can't call them for assistance have to email. I dependable and unprofessional!
The service was outstanding. Four items were assembled in record time. Fernando was very professional and took pride in his work. I will absolutely use Handy again.

I did only one cleaning for Handy for 5 hours and got paid 71.50 with a 15 dollars tip. Right after that cleaning they said someone request me on a Sunday. I gave them a 5 day notice and said I wasn't available nor they I want to work for a company that charge over 200 for a cleaning and you provide everything including your transportation and only made 71.50. To make a long story short they took 50 from my previous cleaning for not going to do the cleaning I never claim and gave them a 5 day notice that I wasn't available. Please don't work for this company. I will write this review every chance I get because this is low down to treat people this way when you trying to make a living and get your rent paid. I used handy.com before and while it was a little expensive, I had no complaints. I recently tried to.use them again and the cost was $100 per hour with a 2 hour minimum. I used task rabbit and paid $40 instead!
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
