I have never left a review before in my life, but I feel compelled to this time. I tried to book a cleaner through Handy. I was booked for a week out and spent time tidying my house and rearranging my schedule for the cleaner. The cleaner didn't show up and then called saying she didn't have my address. It turns out she was in another STATE! I called Handy and thought the mix up was all cleared up. We rescheduled. However Handy then proceeded to cancel and reschedule for me four more times! Meanwhile I can't get in touch with anyone to help me. Finally, they reach out, apologize and say they have no one in my area- would have been nice to know this in the first place. But, wait there's more. The next week someone from Handy shows up saying they are here to assemble my furniture. It's almost funny but not really. She actually ended up cleaning my house and did a good job. However, she could only do it the one time not biweekly as I need. I have now found someone else to clean my house. So beware of Handy they will quickly book you but you may be in for a circus show.
I have used Handy and has not experienced a person than really knows how to clean a house, they do ok jobs and are very nice people, but the customer service socks, when you have an issue nobody talks to you personally to find out what the issue is about. All they want you to do is give feedback.
Christian was very nice, kind and very caring about his work. He did an excellent job at putting my patio furniture together, even thou the box it came in was missing 1 piece to the furniture. I would recommend Handy and would also recommend Christian to family and friends.
Literally a new of the worst service companies I've ever dealt with.
Ok did to have a two pro job to put together a large bed in our upstairs master. They sent one person, a gentleman named James who was excellent, however the headboard weighed 230lbs and there was no way he could get it up stairs by himself. When wayfair the vendor who set up the service contacted Handy they lied abjectly and said it was scheduled for a 1 pro job, when the weather invoice clearly states 2pro and even their own employee acknowledged it was supposed to be a 2 pro and that is what we paid for.
I will warn everyone I can to avoid this company at all costs.
I booked two guys for moving help -- figured I would need more than one person as there was a mattress and some heavy boxes to carry up two flights of stairs -- Handy only sent one... but still charged me for two. There is no customer service number to follow up, only an online submission form for issues with your order... I submitted one and have only received an automated email to let me know they are "currently experiencing delays." The mover who did show up was amazing -- no thanks to the platform, from which my fantastic helper was likely only getting a small fraction of what I paid to Handy. I'm hoping I get my money back for the second helper who they failed to send, but not feeling optimistic. I would be extremely hesitant to use this service again.
I was charged twice and have not receiving a refund I was told I would get. The app was glitching and asked me for my information twice and I was double charged, for a booking that was obviously for one service, putting my office desk together. I booked for April 8th. It was a poor job and my desk was not properly assembled in 2 places, so Handy Sent a replacement booking on April 13th, which is now the reason I don't get a refund (they are trying to charge me to fix their mistake). I have requested to speak with a manager or supervisor and have yet to receive that information through the customer service email. This is bad business and unacceptable. I want my refund of $111 for being fraudulently charged twice on the Handy app. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HANDY TO MY WORST ENEMY!
I've used Handy for a few jobs now and everything has always gone well. The pros they send are awesome!
Carson is very professional and got the job done effectively. He notified me that he was available sooner than the appointment time and available to start if I was okay with that.
As the title says, I will never assemble another piece of furniture myself again. I simply left the box in the room it was to be assembled and the handy man (Ed) took care of the rest. For the price, it is worth every cent for a person like me to not have to worry about going through instructions and then spend the next 2 hours assembling it only to find out i installed a door improperly. Again, will definitely use the service again
I would give 0 stars if I could. Handy canceled on me 3X, rescheduling all but the last one. I will never ever use this service again. They schedule an appointment with their customers without securing a "professional" in the area. Which is why they keep canceling and rescheduling. It is infuriating. The customer service people are useless, there is no phone number to call. I will not recommend them because they never show up and they cancel the same day, within 2 hours notice. But they claim they need 48 hours notice to book this non-existing appointment. They are the absolute worst. I have missed days at work waiting for them and they never show. Terrible Terrible Terrible
We had Scottie H help us in Colorado Springs and he did great work! Professional, neat, friendly and knew what needed to be done and knocked it out efficiently. Very happy with our service.
I clean for handy. I do not travel with a vacuum from home to home. That and toilet bowl brushes... Um DUH? I purchase/ rent these items for special jobs upon request and I always communicate the day before. This app allows for you to get A BAD REVIEW EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T CLEAN FOR THE CLIENT. Terrible for both client and cleaner. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL. CORPORATE SCAM AT ITS FINEST
I love the way they operate, always on time and clean up in a timely fashion. I recommend a few friends and they all like the job that were done on place
This is the absolute worst service experience I have ever had! The toilet Handy installed leaks, I have called to have this fixed and Handy has scheduled and cancelled on me 5 times this week already. FIVE TIMES! I am boiling hot! I had to rip up flooring I just had put in and I will have to rip up another layer tomorrow. I contacted Lowes and this was escalated due to a safety hazard for my elderly mother. Their idea of escalating was to cancel on me twice today at the last minute. I am so tired of waking up and being fearful of my mother falling or floor damage and being angry every day this week! I actually was going to pay someone to fix it today on my own... but they convinced me that someone would be here today and tomorrow to fix it... and low and behold they cancel again at 8 pm tonight.
The technician, James, was professional and friendly. He arrived on time, had all the necessary tools and knowledge to do the job and was very respectful of my home.
Very nice, I'm so happy to find this app, trust worthy Assemblers, professional experience I had,
Thank you
Horrible. Job was assigned to an inactive person who didn't even know they were supposed to be here. They didn't come. No one came. I was charged and didn't hear back from the company as of 7 hours after it hapened
Save your money and piece of mind and STAY AWAY from this service. The pros you chose are rarely the ones who actually show up. Handy makes changes to your booking, always within 24h from the appointment, without ANY notifications and if you cancel or reschedule because you're not comfortable with the pro they automatically assign they will charge you penalty fees. I have opted for only females, but was constantly assigned men, and when I contacted customer service to ensure that that doesn't happen again, they told me the pros are independent contractors and they cannot guarantee anything. The gender preference is just a preference, not a hard rule.
To make matters worse, I was recently threatened by one of their pros by telling me repeatedly that "she knows where I lived" because I didn't cancel a booking to which she didn't want to come because I was too far and it wasn't worth it for her. She demanded that I changed it because she didn't want to pay Handy a refusal fee. Days later Handy has not responded to any of my emails.
Do NOT use Handy, do NOT signup as a provider and do NOT sign a contract. They are corrupt and their practices are unethical. Their treatment of subcontractors and customers is reprehensible.
Didnt show or call to say he was late
Co. Not helping resolve
Worker lied and said he was in the parking lot- 40 min later still never arrievd or had the courtesy to call and say why he wasnt there
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
