Gabriel was very professional and went above and beyond. He worked really hard to get everything done.
By framing its business model as "empowering Pros to select work," while falsely guaranteeing service, Handy is able to inflict undue fees and pass below-market rates on to these independent contractors, disincentivizing the jobs being accepted and fulfilled. Real "Pros" would not settle for these rates. Which means the consumer (a) never receives service, or (b) receives service from a drastically subpar Pro. There is no upside to using Handy - even the illusion of convenience. It will run itself out of business soon enough.
Great at organizing your personal things. Floors and bathrooms not completely cleaned with any of my pros x3 visits. Did clean under my teenagers bed. Hard surfaces in my not cleaned. Each visit is always done early.
Retired from my own cleaning business of 18 yrs and waiting for the closing on my BnB I'm buying, I decided to sign up with Handy as a house cleaner. I completed three jobs, received a 5-star rating, had positive reviews, and received tips from customers. Then I went to a job where no matter how many times I rang the bell ( a Ring doorbell with a camera, too) the customer did not come to the door. I knocked, looked around, and finally went back to my car with all my stuff and looked at the App for help. I figured out how to report that the customer was a no-show, but the App assured me the situation was recorded and I would be compensated. The next day I received notice via email and the App that I would not be paid, I would be charged a $50 fee, and to really stick it to me, I would be punished by having the next two days' scheduled jobs taken away from me! I tried in vain to write emails with my side of the story explained. I then received an Email stating that since I was 15 minutes late to the job I would still be charged a $50 fee. Wait, what? I was certainly not late. I was there! The doorbell took pictures!
There is no phone number, no other way to get in touch with your "boss" so-to-speak other than the App! I have to passively wait for further email correspondence and the company had my bank account info, and therefore can theoretically subtract further. Meanwhile I also await my very first paycheck.
Horrible company. Do not use this company. Do not work for them. Either way you will be burned.
Signed up for 3 $100 cleanings but paid about $185 each time, and they are trying to automatically set up another cleaning!
The Pro arrived on time. He also identified damaged parts of a bed that happened in shipping that might affect his work. I found him and the company very professional and would recommend both to anyone in need of their services. Very Good Experience for me and my family.
This is really substandard in terms of cleaning services. I believe they would allow anyone to go into houses and do "cleaning" whether or not they had experience. The cleaners don't necessarily stay for the time you pay for, and they don't seem to have a grasp of basic cleaning things (like cleaning to the back of a countertop). The cleaner you get isn't consistent from visit to visit. One cleaner moved things from room to room to the point I couldn't locate things and when I asked, she blocked the conversation so I can't reach out to her further to try to find where she put my things. Handy has been trying to reach this "professional" also with no success. Look elsewhere for cleaning services.
I first used Handy through Wayfair to install several outside lights, then booked a pro install a faucet. Excellent customer interface and the work was great. Great resource.
Maria was on-time, professional, communicative and friendly! She did an excellent job cleaning every nook and cranny in my apartment! Cannot wait to have her back! She was also great with my dog who loved her.
Handy is awful awful awful. First, you can't speak to a real person it is all via email and they send people out to do the work before the a/c even arrived even though I told them it had not arrived yet -- so they not only waste my time but these poor guys who are trying to do the installation. Then when I canceled the order THEY WILL NOT REFUND ME. They said they need the invoice and even when I send it to them they still WILL NOT REFUND ME. Just a shambolic and shady place. Avoid at all costs.
Really really bad.
Please avoid getting in trouble with this fraudulent people!
I met the so called "pro" in person to know who was coming to my place, he did a sloppy job leaving stains on the floor and countertops. I gave him my direct contact for the future in case he had issues to enter the apt or anything, he couldn't care less... keep reading...
I went out of town for a couple of months, booked two cleanings with the same guy before the arrival of guests. I never heard from him again, and after 2 months I got to discover that the two cleanings were never done, and I delivered a dirty apt to my guests!
Handy didn't let me know he couldn't enter my apt, even if he had my direct phone exactly for that purpose! I talked to him in person!
The best of this story is that these cleanings (for a 300sf apt) were around $186 each, when I was under the impression I bought a deal with Handy and they should have been around $70. AND they are refunding me only half of it, LITERALLY STEALING $93 FROM ME, without counting the damage to my reputation as a host! And all the time I'm wasting talking with useless customer service.
This is unacceptable.
They hire unqualified people who don't care, and bottom line they are just after your money in any possible way... including setting appointments by default once a month! What? Without even asking? Let's talk about it!
Jennifer was very sweet and did a fantastic job, considering the mess she walked into,,,, She never complained or said any unkind words... I look forward to her returning... she is great! I highly recommend her. Thank You Jennifer!
Handy is a very professional company.
I have dealt with them in the past and their entire team from office and the team they have out in the field are very polite and get the job done on time and smoothly.
This was my first ever experience of getting someone to assemble furniture for me. I recommend this company to everyone. My handy guy was/will always be Carnell. He was right on time with everything, don't hesitate to use Handy. It's worth it!
Very professional two men came to mounted my 75 in Samsung AU******* TV. Very clean as you can see in picture.
Wish there was a way to give zero stars. Booked and paid up front for drywall repair. Handy's terms of service say that if *we* cancel the booking within 48 hours, then *they* get to keep all the money. However, Handy.com rescheduled us THREE TIMES over two weeks within TWO HOURS of our booking. We kept taking off work in order to be there when the handyman arrived, and then the morning of, within 1-2 hours of our booking start time, we would just get an automated text telling us "the professional scheduled to assist you today had to cancel last minute and we have rescheduled you". We have to give them 48 hours notice, and they get to give us NO notice? Where's OUR cancellation fee? The third time, they just flat-out cancelled the booking entirely and texted "your Handy booking has been cancelled due to an emergency with your professional, we're refunding your card, you should see the money arrive back within 5 days". Never saw a single handyman, never got a phone call apologizing or explaining, nothing. Just held our money for weeks, lied, made it impossible for us to hire a legitimate repairman in the meantime, and communicated solely via texts. If you actually do need someone reliable who will complete the work in a timely manner and not screw you over, don't go with Handy.com. Completely untrustworthy.
myhandy.com professional shut out to my home on time got the entire job done within one hour I would totally recommend handy to someone who needs help with furniture assembly for those big heavy pieces you cannot do your own
This company is awful. My television was mounted in my newly remodeled home & it fell. Handy company wants me to pay for a new appointment instead of them covering the damages to my wall & television. Don't ever use this company! I used Geek Squad 12 yrs ago & all of the tv's they mounted are still mounted properly.
I signed up for Handy housekeeping and was cancelled twice just before my scheduled service. So I cancelled my membership. I was still charged and was not allowed a refund. I NEVER recieved services. Handy tried to send someone 2 weeks later after they confirmed that I cancelled and so I responded that I cancelled services. They charged me AGAIN! So I am out $173 and never got my house cleaned.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
