There is no accountablity at Handy. Not to the pro or customer. Will charge fee to the pro and customer without notice. No way dispute the fee ( email) if they contact you back. With them for to years, a top pro. And now kicked off becuase of a app problem! Beware
Very happy with my first experience with Handy. Had a great handyman assemble a big bench from CB2. Was quick, respectful of my home and professional. A++
Morgan was great. He arrived 15 minutes early and was very methodical and paid attention to details that others may have missed. He had the job done in less than an hour and a half. Overall, Morgan did a very professional quality job. The TV is perfectly centered horizontally and vertically on the wall and it is level. It looks great! Cleaned up after himself when he was complete with the installation. Very personable as well. Nice Guy.
The only negative thing I will include is that HANDY never mentioned they were only sending out only ONE technician to install an 85 inch TV... Makes sense to send two tech's for such a large item, or at least, at a minimum, let the customer know that they are expected to assist in the installation... I'm recovering from surgery and not supposed to be lifting too much... If I was unable to help lift the TV into place on the wall mount, I would have had to reschedule or find another company altogether.
Overall, still, I give 5 Stars to Morgan and 4 stars to Handy.
So far it's been ok. I like that they are prompt or at least let u know if they are running late. The two I had were very nice. Did what I asked them to and usually end up getting done early. What I don't like is when they do leave early or some of the extras u pay extra for doesn't get done it's a pain trying to get partial payment back and it doesn't go to original payment method. It stays in the handy account. It's fine since I do use the service and like it so far. But it doesn't sit well. It came from my account because it's mine to give. It should be returned the same way. I like options. Don't take away options. But all in all I will continue my subscription. I just have to find the right fit

Tried their three month membership. First professional didn't show up without any communication. Second professional didn't do a great job ( at first it looked like it but then discovered things that weren't cleaned). Third one cancelled on morning of. Cancelled my membership and they took their $99 cancellation fee! Even though their service is horrible. Avoid this service.
Hired a handyman to assemble 2 pieces of furniture in my new apt. Chad was great. Professional, on time (a bit early actually) and did a great job. Will definitely use again.
I recently purchased a 65 inch Visio TV from BJ's Warehouse in Manchester, CT. Due to my age (70) and back surgery though, I was unable to remove it from the box due to it's size and weight. BJ's offered a set up service so I opted for that. The service was through Handy.com and they scheduled a tech for a Wednesday about 6 days after I signed up. I downloaded the app and found, if necessary, I could reschedule the appointment. I was fine with the time and date, However the original tech was unable to come that day (scheduling problem--his--not mine) and Handy rescheduled me for 2 days later.
So on Friday, at exactly the time it was scheduled for, the tech (Chad) showed up. After exploring with me what I wanted him to do, he began. Originally I wanted to mount the TV to a pedestal, but after looking at it, Chad felt it was too unstable. Instead he moved a table from another room and set it up using the legs that came with it. The process went extremely well and quick. I had four devices that also needed to be connected and he handled each one perfectly. He made sure the wires were placed out of the way for each one and finally we turned on the set. The Visio was awesome BTW.
Once we were done, Chad even removed the big box the set came in for me, so I didn't even have to worry about that. Chad was quick, efficient, and very personable. It was a real pleasure to have him in my home doing this job for me. I rated him 5 stars (out of 5) and would have to say his performance was Triple-A plus.
I recommend Handy to anyone who would need a service done like this... and Chad too, if you are able to request a tech by name. I WILL(!) be a repeat customer should I have the need to do work around my home in the future.
I booked two handymen to mount a large tv one was great but the The second handyman arrived, did not even acknowledge us when he came in, he was supposed to help lift the tv, but took over, screwed on the mounting brackets, broke one, picked up the broken piece and threw it in the tv box, he did not mention that anything was broken at that point. When the first handyman spoke to him trying to complete the mounting he completely ignored him. Towards the end he said the mount is broken, then tried to imply that it's the wrong mount when the same mount was used to mount the same tv previously. He mishandled a 7000. 00 tv, when Reynold told him to be careful with the screen he completely ignored him. Both though different models had a one connect box he told the first handyman to leave the old box on and not replace it. It was as if he thought I was too stupid to notice what was going on. His attitude was hostile it's the absolute worst service I've ever received from anyone in my life. I will never use handy again because of him. I'm left with a unsecured tv hanging from a broken mount. I will need to purchase a new mount and pay to have my tv remounted I need to be refunded in full for this service, hopefully my tv is undamaged when it is turned on or there will be a huge issue. He was disrespectful acted like he was doing me a favor, did not want to be there and handled my expensive television like it was a piece of garbage. I am beyond upset.
This is a scam! Beware and do not book. The people cleaning aren't paid well and aren't motivated to finish the jobs. Then when you cancel they will charge you a fee that amounts to another full cleaning. I've paid for 4 full cleanings and got 0! Horrible.
I was very impressed with William, he showed up on time, was very competent and professional and did an outstanding job. He was done in no time and the area where he was working immaculate. I am more than satisfied with Handy!

My Air-conditioner stopped working on a 102 degree day. I scheduled a Handy appointment for three days out. Temperatures remained over 100 degrees all three days. The day of my appointment came. I received texts confirming, and I confirmed appointment. NOBODY SHOWED UP! NOBODY CALLED! I gave handy a poor review, then all of a sudden somebody called. I called back and received a call center in India that showed no interest in fixing this problem other than re-scheduling another seven days out! USE ANOTHER SERVICE! STAY AWAY FROM HANDY!
We had to change the original date & time allocated for the assembly of some furniture, which was easy to do with a quick call to the installer. Christopher arrived on time & assembled the crib really quickly, he was great.
Pros arrive on time. Always completely capable. They do their work expertly in just about the right amount of time.
I ordered a power lift recliner from Wayfair on July 31st. A day or so after ordering it, I realized I'd forgotten to include unpacking, assembly, and setup service. I contacted Wayfair on August 2nd to have them add it to the order. Wayfair customer service, in turn, contacted Handy to book the service. The day of delivery was August 9th, which was fast approaching.
When I didn't hear anything, I again contacted Wayfair and they told me that they had sent a request to Handy, with no response. They sent the request again and gave me an email and contact number. The delivery date from Wayfair was moved up from August 9th to August 6th.
Since I STILL had not heard anything about the service from either Handy or Wayfair, I sent an email to Handy and asked what was up? They said they could find no record of the booking and I'd need to make a new booking, which would not be filled until at least 48 hours had elapsed. Received notice that the chair was to be delivered to my driveway on August 6th, so I needed to move it out of the rain until Handy could get someone out.
Finally, Handy scheduled the booking for Monday, August 9th. They sent out ONE PERSON, Julian (who was great, by the way) with NO handtruck. He was to try and lug this 107 lb chair up the stairs to where it was to be set up, which he did using my handtruck and sheer brawn! Julian said this was not unusual for Handy.
So my chair was finally installed, setup, and working - NO THANKS to Handy! Their lack of communication and poor management and scheduling skills could have made this a nightmare. Thanks to Julian, it was successful. DO NOT book with Handy!
Bought Steel Ladder Bookcase from Wayfair (https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/wade-logan-mederos-725-h-x-24-w-steel-ladder-bookcase-w*******.html), and booked Handy.com service for Expert Assembly together. Danny is assigned and accomplished the job quickly and neat.
We live in Celebration where most folks want to settle in, not far from Disney or Universal. Both my husband and I feel that this guy is one whom most will seek but seldom find in today's fast pace. He was quick, conscientious and precise about our wall hangings. We will think of him while entertaining our guests as they will compliment our home. We will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE. Do NOT work for this company. There are so many undisclosed charges and just garbage in general (pardon the pun). As hungry as you were when you started this "job", it will take the winds it of your sail QUICK! After just one job it was over for me. I'm still waiting for my pay too.
I had to buy my daughter a new bed for her college apartment. It was delivered in a box from Wayfair at her old apartment, but then needed to be assembled a few days later in her new apartment. Handy.com was the only way I could get that done without knowing any handymen in Chicago. Everything was great. Andres showed up on time and got the job done perfectly. I was able to schedule, pay, and tip online without being there. Thanks so much!
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
