I am very pleased with the housecleaning service that Handy provides. Lt is easy to apply and efficient.
I have been using Handy for a number of years. Makaylah is their new hire. She is professional, efficient, and made my place spotless. It is so good to come back to a clean home!
After my initial sitejabber review of LOWE"S "HANDY installers" I did receive an email that someone would be contacting me within 24/48 hours to come back and fix my toilet. As expected it is July 24th, have not heard a PEEP from "HANDY installers".
Just a note:
I purchased online 2 Toilets from Home Depot (with correct Rough-in) Delta Mechanical here in San Diego sent a Top Notch Installer and you would never guess the 1st thing he checked when I showed him the 2 Toilets that needed to be replaced --
Yes he checked the Rough-in measurement -
Installation Went so smooth with HOME DEPOTS Installer!
June 26 I ordered 2 New Toilets from LOWE'S Online website, Let me preface this by stating I ordered the wrong Rough-In size.
I also ordered installation from HANDY booking ID: #19328579
The installed called me a couple days before instal and asked if he could come one day earlier (I agreed)
Installer shows up I mentioned that I may have ordered the wrong toilets but he insisted all was good because of his experience.
After ALL he's the expert right?
He removed the 1st old toilet and called me to look he said he needed to remove the 4" molding so I told him go ahead.
He called me to look again and he was trying to fit a 12 inch Rough-In toilet into a 10 in Rough-in.
He asked me if he could cut the wall open behind the toilet tom make it fit? WHAT?
I told him NO NO NO. And insisted her re-install the old toilet and bring back the 2 new toilets.
SO after he left I noticed when I sat on the toilet it wobbled and was not secured, and his vehicle left oil spot in my driveway(which I never mentioned the old spots to customer service!
When I called Handy's customer service. Here is where the real JOKE began.
I received several emails from Handy Customer service about what exactly went wrong- so diligently I answered and finally was told I would have someone come out to fix the wobbling toilet issue... well it's JULY 10th and no contact and no repairs
WHAT A JOKE -
I'm using HOME DEPOT NOW!
I ordered a kitchen faucet from Wayfair and also ordered their installation service (Handy.com). The person who came to install the faucet obviously did not know what he was doing. I rescheduled with another installer who refused to complete the work because the first installer damaged the new faucet. Wayfair refunded the cost of the faucet immediately, but told me I had to work with Handy.com for the service charge. My claim for a refund was approved. I've been waiting for 7 weeks for the refund to arrive. I've been told various stories from the support reps at various times about when the check will arrive. Now after 7 weeks I was told the claim was approved, but no one approved issuing a check. The support rep said she will approve it for payment and even though it is being mailed from the US to a US address, it will take 5-7 weeks to receive it. I'm quite sure if I had not followed up on this, I would never have received the refund. Handy may be good at some kinds of services, but I would never use them again for plumbing or any other trade-based installation that requires more skill than using a screw driver to assemble furniture.
I bought 2 garage door openers (Chamberlain smart video openers) from Lowes and paid installation while purchasing. Lowes referred to handy.com, and I got someone came to install it. The installer removed the existing opener, unpacked the new one and connected one end of the belt to the wall and kept hanging the other end and called me and said he cannot do anything else because there is a center beam in my garage. Now my door is not working and I have to pull up and down the door manually to operate it.
I called the Chamberlain Customer Support and they said this is very common procedure any garage door installer can do it. They also sent me this link - https://support.chamberlaingroup.com/s/article/How-to-shorten-the-length-of-the-rail-to-make-room-for-a-ceiling-beam-or-other-obstruction**************. I tried to call few other installers and they said they will install only if I buy the opener from them.
Then I tried reaching out to Lowes, that is a complete different nighmare. The sales person gave her card to me when I bought the product. Later when I tried to e-mail her, she did not respond to me. Then I went into the store and tried to find her. Not able to find her, but one of her colleagues helped to enter some notes into the system. No response for few days. Then I e-mailed Lowes again. No response yet. Now I paid for a preminum product and pulling and pushing the garage door daily.
For anyone interested to see the quality of work handy.com did for me, I have attached the pictures.
We needed help installing a TV on our wall, and we're very pleased with the job that Patrick from Handy did. He was professional, neat and organized, and did a great job with the TV and sound system. He also walked us through the technical aspects and helped us set up several channels.
To all new to Handy like me: I booked the service with Ms. Genetha B. She came before time and cleaned the place as required. She went far and beyond: she did a wonderful job beyond description. Such a hard-working person with extreme attention to detail. I used many cleaning services and this one is by far the best ever. The place is shining everywhere and spotless. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants outstanding work and amazing results. I will refer her to all my friends in NYC. Great work, Genetha! Thank you soo much!
DONT USE THIS SERVICE, THE WORSE AWFUL EXPERIENCE. LOWES USES THEM FOR INSTALLS AND THEY SUCK, THE GUY NEVER SHOWED AND THEN THEY BLAMED ME.
Amber was very professional & did an excellent job cleaning my apartment. She was very attentive to detail. She did a great job of vacuuming my carpet & upholstery that was covered in cat hair. My home smelled marvelous & just about sparkled by the time she was done. I will use her again!
They do not read your emails. It's the same robotic replies and I'm still working on my claim since Oct 2021. They have an awful online form and should just email attachments but I think it's their way of discouraging folks to avoid paying for damages.
Would never recommend them!
I contracted with Handy.com for an outdoor grill assembly. The first one forgot 4 key bolts to secure the main grill to the cabinet. Two bolts were found in the cabinet, and two in the trash. The owner's manual was also in the trash. There was a gas leak from the side burner (could be very dangerous). Installed an obviously damaged burner (appeared to be screwdriver puncture, perhaps done when removing shipping packaging).
The damaged burner was "found" by the second handyman sent by Handy.com to troubleshoot problem. He show up a half hour late and was intoxicated to the point of slurring words. My landscapers actually saw the man beforehand drinking in his car. He was trying to solicit direct service. He was confident that Wayfair would send me a whole new grill because of the damaged burner. That led to my wondering if the second handyman damaged the burner to drum up work assembling when Wayfair would send me a new grill.
The app makes it very difficult to choose a Handyman. Jobs are put out on the App for registered Handymen to grab jobs. The second one claims he was paid only $25 by Handy. That may speak to the quality of service rendered.
Handy sent out 2 different contractors that had no clue as to what to do. One contractor told me he had to go get materials - he did, and said this was extra, and showed me the Home Depot bill for $60.00. I paid him for the materials, and he said we would be back with the right tools - NEVER came back. The second contractor also did not know what he was doing and he cancelled the job. Handy WILL NOT Refund the $60.00, even though it was their contractor!
Pekance was very friendly, punctual and professional in putting up two wardrobes for me. I'm very happy with the finished result.
My husband and I bought a storage shed kit. When it arrived we realized assembly was way more than we could handle. I used my Handy app and requested someone to assemble the shed. Kennyson did a great job! He is a hard worker and was very determined to get the shed built even though the instructions were difficult to understand so he studied the manual and used the product YouTube video to explain the process. After much persistence and hard work he completed the project! Looks great! Thank you Kennyson!
If I could rate their customer service a zero, I would. I canceled my handy services due to backed up appointment times. Nearly impossible to get a refund. Once you are able to get your money back, they will mail you a check within 4-5 weeks. I did ask why they would not give me my refund through the original form of payment, but they never answered me. I will never recommend Handy to anyone.
It was great value and service having a pro do the furniture assemble after reading the reviews of the banquette on Wayfair I thought I'm going to get someone to do it for me. Good partnership for Handy with Wayfair. Though there were not enough batons but that was Wayfair's issue
I recently had Nest tell me I needed an A/C person to come look at my A/C. My cooling was dropping off and needed repaired. They scheduled the service, the time, took payment, everything went smoothly. Then 12 days later and 3 rescheduled appointments later during a heatwave, I called and canceled. Come to find out they didn't even have anyone in the area who could do it and never called me to tell me this. They were just going to indefinitely schedule me to eternity. Do not use! Scam service!
Right on time and prepared. Was very pleasant to talk to and would highly recommend. Stellar job!
Julian showed up on time and ready to work. Very personable and professional. He did an excellent job installing my curtain rods and helping me with my drapes. I highly recommend him!
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
