Hampton & Lovett's reputation is notably polarized, with a significant number of customers expressing dissatisfaction regarding service delays, lack of communication, and aggressive marketing tactics. Many reviews highlight feelings of being misled about potential savings and the inadequacy of support received after payments were made. Conversely, a smaller segment of customers reported positive experiences, praising the professionalism and effectiveness of the service in securing substantial savings. This divergence suggests a need for the company to enhance its customer service practices and transparency to rebuild trust and improve overall customer satisfaction.

Anyone else signed with them saying the deadline to appeal rates was 31st December, then took 4 weeks for them to get in touch,(signed on 8th December, took till 9th January)but deadline passed so did it yourself and now coming after you for a cancellation fee?
I currently have a claim going through Hampton Lovett for the ratings period 2017 - 2023. It is still ongoing and nothing to suggest that it won't be a successful outcome as they've done a lot of preparation work and have now lodged a claim with the Valuation Office. I know this can take time.
I then recently received a letter from their Marketing department saying that I would need to submit a new claim for the latest rating period and would I like to ''fast-track' them looking into this for me. I signed a blank form and have now been presented with another invoice! When I questioned this and said I hadn't agreed to extra costs at this stage, they started getting very threatening and then presented my old signed form for the previous case they are handling for me. Wow! What a way to treat an existing customer!
I was ready to defend them and say they are doing a great job for me but this most recent experience has really made me doubt them as a company and I'm not really sure anymore. I've definitiely seen another side to them
Having dealt with this company I feel they are nothing but con artists getting you to sign for a free survey which then suddenly turns into an invoice. I wish we had read the reviews before doing anything with them and funnily enough we have been getting numerous emails from various companies ALL having a bit about part of Hamton Lovett. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Promised the earth and took the money and gave nothing in return, Stiched me up with a contract without clearly explaining what the implications were.
All seemed above board to start with but the conclusion to the transaction has left a bitter taste. They achieved a rate reduction with the valuation office but it would have been more if they had sent over information asked from me, which didn't arrive at the valuation office. As far as I was concerned this was still a work in progress and negligence on the part of Hampton Lovett. Another challenge was required which could take another 5 months to resolve. They raised another invoice that I was expecting to pay at the end of events and said if I didn; t pay they wouldn't do any further work on my case. I then had virtually daily phone calls to my mobile over a 3 week period chasing payment and then threating legal letters if I didn't pay. This is where we are now.My Company has paid out over £2000 to Hampton Lovett inc this latest invoice and as yet haven't received a penny back in rebate from the Council and don't know when I will. Their aggressive attitude in debt collection particularly when the work hasn't been completed to my satisfaction leaves alot to be desired.
Hampton Lovett are nothing but a scam. They make promises that are not kept and they deceive you into signing up with them to then demand money before they will do any work. Make sure you read all the very small print in their contract as we have just had to pay 50% of their fees for doing absolutely no work at all. We were going to go to court but the mediator said we would lose and have to pay their fees in full as well as court costs. Even though it has cost us £900 to make it go away I certainly wasn't going to give them the satisfaction of winning in court and then paying over £2,000.
Shouldn't be in business and one day they will cross the wrong person and i pray it will be their downfall. Scum
Hampton Lovatt are the worst kind of scammers.
They tell lies to get your interested and verbally state what the contract is they are offering but the follow up letter in writing is completely different.
Crafty, devious and deliberately misleading.
Avoid at all costs.
They are not worth rating.
This is a warning to any small business. Do not sign any documents regarding re claim of business rates. This company are bad news
Great outcome. Got a rates reduction; no fee charged until saving was made. Fully satisfied and happy with the services.
This firm contacted me the week after my husband died, and I signed a contract with them under a false impression of their service. As soon as I realised my mistake I told them immediately, and advised I did not require them to do the work. Even though they have done no work they are continuing to harrass me for breach of contract for work I do not, and did not, require them to do. If this is how they get their work I suggest its best to keep away from them, there are much more ethical and reasonable firms who do not need to bully clients into paying for work they do not need or want.
I commissioned this company to handle my rate review on the understanding that there was a provision within the contract that if they didn't win they would rebat the fee payable. The first problem was this privission wasn't in the contract after emailing I received mail to say it was an oversight and it was now included, the contract was never revised/re-issued. All I got was an endless amount of telephone calls to my personal mobile number requesting the invoice was paid as they couldn't proceed before this was done, even when requested to stop using this number, the calls just kept coming, to the point I started to question the professionalism of this company and it the whole thing was some sort of scam. Ater days of endless harassment, I had enough and requested the cancellation of the process as this was pressure selling at its worse. I have never experienced anything like it, they took to using different landline and mobile numbers and and even when requested "very firmly" that they should cease using my mobile number and use the landline, the calls just kept coming. Now the demand for payment in full and the threats of legal action have started. Beware working with this company and never give them your personal mobile number.
Best professional surveyors to hire and work efficiently and effectively. I was able to save 1200$ and i didn't know it would be possible. Thank you for the service and all the help.
If we could give less than one star we would.
This company is out there to rob you.
Their agents come out and say there are no upfront fees, and then once you get the paperwork they want paying upfront.
If you don't pay they send the bailiffs straight away.
These are the worst kinds of people to deal with, and I sincerely wish they go bust with the diabolical bullish behaviour they use.
They are Scammers and Liars. We had dealings with them and after taking money and 18 months of lies they had done nothing and claimed that our rates were right and can not be reduced. We resorted to legal action to get our money back. We have been recently receiving communication from them regarding Rates reduction due to covid etc.The address they refer to that they want to reduce the rate for us is not on the rating list. Avoid them
Send spam emails regarding a company that exists but for an address that has nothing to do with that company - in fact 50 or so miles from where the company is. Claims rating assessment has "alarming inaccuracies" (for a rating which does not exist) and sets very tight end of month deadline to try and get you to respond. Complete scammer approach and seems to be totally unaware of data protection rules.
In short, our company was mis-sold by Hampton Lovett and rather than being virtuous in their errors the company decided to save face and enforce the contract. Their heavy handed approach and disinterest in fulfilling the contract is something which requires careful consideration. The focus only appears to be the extraction of fees not delivery of service.
We [Our Company] were pragmatic in finding an alternative solution after the misrepresentation of their sales team. But during our negotiations they disappeared like Harry Houdini and enforced Bailiffs for payment. Since payment was forced through Hampton Lovett 6 weeks ago no services have been conducted.
This RICS member firm repeatedly sends my company (and I understand a host of other registered companies based at the regional office of the company's chartered accountants incessant spam emails regarding business rates - it is not only contravening The Data Protection Act 2018 but is unlawful, unprofessional and not in accordance with RICS professional Codes of Conduct. The company and its activities together with that of B2B Digital Group Limited whom they are using to undertake these activities are being reported in writing to the London Trading Standards (LTS), the Information Commissioners Office (ICO as at August 16th 2021.
Anybody who feels they have been done over by this company email the voa.
Email address *******@voa.gsi.gov.uk.
Ask them for a copy of the challenge submission by hl and any correspondence including whether the appeal is outstanding.
Once you have seen a copy of the submission you may realise something.
I originally left a review based on my experience with this company and then removed it after a conversation with a manager (Giving the company a second chance to prove themselves due to Covid). Read this review and contact me directly if you want to know the truth about my experience. Possibly the worst customer service I've ever received, un-answered phone calls, emails and constant staff turnover with new members of staff taking over your case. They will take your initial set up fee and then do very little, this was my experience. I've managed to get my rates down due to another company using the same site, however Hampton Lovett believes this substantiates their claim for lowering the rates. Laughable, they have then attempted to charge me (As though their expertise has got the reduction). Be vary cautious with this company, this is a GENUINE review from a customer that has had nothing but problems.
I was sent unlimited emails stating that I was entitled to a rebate. I thought that the money would come in handy as Covid-19 was a worry for me and my business
Lee met me at my salon and spent minutes taking a brief look around. He then informed me that I was paying way over and would definitely get a rebate of at least £5000
He told me to sign a document so he could then look into it further for me.
No mention of terms and conditions or that I was signing a contract. Lee knew I hadn't read the document nor could as I didn't have my glasses. This didn't phase him at all
A couple of days later I was informed me that the business rates were right for my premises and I should not have even been approached by this company! I called them to inform them that I didn't want to go ahead only to be told that I had signed an official contract and had to pay £600 I couldn't believe it!
I was hounded by a lady called Louisa I told her what had happened and she said she would investigate. This clearly did not happen
They should never have approached me and I believe that they just send emails to innocent people like myself trapping them. Then threatening people until they pay!
I have found out that this company are a set of cowboys with bully boy tactics
