We booked a last minute hotel after a cancelled flight not realizing this wasn't the hotel's website. Agreed to pay $242 for the night. Hit the confirmation button after entering our payment info and was immediately charged $375.98. Over $100 was added for "tax recovery charges & service fees." This is a SCAM. Stay away.
Do not use this site. They quote one rate then add additional fee's after payment is made. Total Scam, dishonest, rip-off. Stay away... Far Far Away!
Hi Jeff, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
Absolutely a scam. They have bought domain names with the names of various hotels. For example, I wanted to book with the Holiday Inn Tewksbury. I clicked on "https://holidayinntewksbury.guestreservation.com" which LOOKs like the hotel's sight. (See how well "guestreservations" goes with the hotel name?) That's how they get you. Having thought I was dealing directly with the hotel, I forgot to pay attention. The reservation process seems normal except they indicate that you can only get the quoted rate if you pay in advance. They also put up a timer saying the rate will expire in 10 minutes (should have been a clue) Off to the side where you won't notice they put the actual charges in small font. At the bottom they put "Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees" In my case an incredible $275. I went back and checked the booking on Expedia. Same rate and the taxes were $85. So they just blithely charge an extra $200 in a place where you won't notice. The confirmation e-mail puts the charge much more prominently, so I noticed immediately. I called to get the charge refunded. Their phone system does not offer a way to get to a person. In desperation I tried hitting "0". That got me an operator. They gave me the run around for 10 minutes and then said they could refund the charges. However the policy required I pay for one night plus taxes and service fees for... you guessed it... $200. Not a damn thing I can do about it. So basically they fool you into giving them $200 and laugh all the way to the bank. Completely legitimate and at the same time a completely unscrupulous scam.

Our hotel said our charge should have been $145, but this website collected $60+ in fees that were not disclosed until BELOW the booking button. There was no summary of fees before booking.

Family emergency forced me to make a quick reservation for my husband. I thought I was at the Hampton Inn website, however, unbeknownst to me, I was redirected to this shyster's website. I made a two night reservation and immediately was SHOCKED at the final rate AFTER the reservation was made. The fees this company tacks on AFTER the reservation is made will shock you and should be criminal. I then realized my mistake. I immediately called to cancel, was told I couldn't. I tried to reduce to one night. Again, was flatly refused. I asked to speak to a manager, I was kept on hold for over an hour. The agent would occasionally come back on the line to tell me they weren't available and, through tears, I continued to say I wanted to hold. I explained to the agent that my brother in law was dying and I made an honest mistake thinking I was at the hotel website. NO SYMPATHY whatsoever. I was never able to actually talk to a manager or supervisor... ultimately, after waiting over an hour, I gave up. A one night stay that should have been $180 turned into over $550. DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They are EXTREMELY dishonest, will steal your money and will put profit before human decency. They need to be permanently shut down. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB. AVOID at ALL costs!

My husband and I arrived 3 hours before we could actually check in, we paid for the room and patiently waited in the lobby. After about an hour of waiting the owner came to us and told us that there was a water leak that I just started 10 minutes prior and he was unable to invite any guests to stay. Long story short he lied there was no water leak he just judged us on appearance (we were sweaty from walking after a car broke down) he just did not want to stay there. And he has other guests staying there and there is no water leak.
Hi Irene, Guest ReservationsTM is an independent third-party travel network offering reservations at over 100,000 hotels. We are not affiliated with this hotel. To speak to someone regarding your experience, please contact them directly. Thank you.
I have searched Hilton ocean city but guest reservation lured me to their website and I have booked a reservation with a 3 days cancellation policy
But I have cancelled the reservation 10 days before but the company refused the refund and gave me a hard time but I fought for couple months but they did not refund the money
I have contacted Hilton but they said it is not the hotel charged me but the hotel partner guest reservations
Finally I have to dispute the charges with credit card and they granted me the credit
Guest reservations is a subsidiary of Priceline It is a shame that they did this kind of business
When making reservations online make sure you are on the hotel real website and not any partners
AVOID Guest reservation

First I'd like to mention that I travel 4-5 months a year for fun and the remainder of the year for an work (airline). I have travelled to 118 countries in the past 30 years and never encountered such a booking scam.
Usually I use booking.com but I just wanted to research the chosen hotel on the web. This site popped up and offered a better price so I booked with them. However, the room rate for which I entered the payment details was not the final price! Only when the payment came through there was a price breakdown that siddenly included dubious $19 of tax on a room price of $32. During the process of booking this was not visible. Additionally, the free airport transfer listed on this website does not exist. So I paid $19 tax and $15 for a taxi —- altogether I would have paid less at booking.com and would have had a trustworthy booking pro ess.
I will use my social media presence to alert people to this scam and give my feedback on other travel websites.

If I could leave 0 stars, that would be more fitting. They had us book a hotel room for way more than it was supposed to be. When we canceled to get a better price through the hotel, that's when they tried telling us that there would be no refund. This was never stated at the time of reservation and on their website it says that a refund usually takes 7-10 days. They are very rude on the phone when trying to get answers and are not at all helpful. They completely screwed up and now we have their outrageous charge. We will continue to call and get answers for this because no one has been helpful yet. So disappointing.
Hi Amanda, our customer support agents are committed to your satisfaction. So we can securely look into this, please private message/DM us your reservation number, email address, and name the reservation was made under. Thank you.
Used this site to save $20 and ended up paying $50 in fees! The hotel taxes were only $8.00 and the guest reservation service fee was $42.00! Will never use his website again.

They charge phony fees "State Tax Recovery"?
And charge hidden cancellation fee when you realize they are misrepresenting they hotel or vacation you are trying to book

This company should be shut down as fraudulent. I googled a hotel and the first IP that came up was the hotel name/guest relations. When opened, it looked like the hotel's actual website. Only in tiny print does it say it is a third party site and if you are on a phone or ipad much of the information is not shown. I made a reservation and believed I was was giving my CC info just to hold it. When I got the confirmation I realized that the price was over $200.00 more than I was quoted. They said the hotel's policy was that it was non refundable. And Guest Relations charges a fee for their service, a $200.00 fee! My travel plans changed and when I contacted the hotel to cancel and acknowledged I knew it was non refundable but I wanted to release the rooms, the hotel told me the booking had been made through booking.com and was refundable. Guest Relations clearly just took my money and an additional $200.00 plus and went to booking.com and made the reservation. They are lying that it is the hotel who is refusing to refund. Since booking.com does not have me making this reservation, there is nothing I can do to recoup at least the room cost.

Wow it was amazing experience staff/manager was so friendly, room was so clean and quite, everything was perfect no complain worth staying would recommend to my family & friends For the price you really can't beat it. My room was clean, spacious, and cheap. The beds were comfortable, and the room (including the bathroom) was spotless. It definitely exceeded my expectations, and the owner was very kind
I would not recommend Guest Reservations for anything! I made a reservation for a hotel but when it was confirmed it was wrong. I immediately tried (by Chat) to contact the company…. Not to get a refund but to add the missing date on the confirmation. The company promised to respond within 24 hours. 30 hours later I tried to call the listed number since I had gotten no response. The recorded message told me my "wait time" to talk to an agent was under two minutes. 38 minutes later I hung up and called again. One hour and 4 minutes later I hung up. Now, 2 days later I still have confirmation of the wrong dates for my hotel. $371 down the tube!

Purposely make their website appear to be that of the hotel you are trying to book with. Once you hit submit you see that you're charged an exorbitant fee that wasn't disclosed prior to booking. Then when I tried to cancel the reservation ten minutes after making it so I could book directly through the hotel, they were going to keep one full day's worth of the hotel stay (~$200). Kept the reservation as is. Stay the hell away from Guest Reservations as if they have the plague. Total garbage company, nothing but scammers and bottom feeders.

Booked a room in Ventura last week. Got to the hotel after a 14 hour drive. They had no record of a reservation in my name. We called guest reservations to find out what was going on. While I was on hold they called the hotel. The manager was confirming that there was no reservation in our name and asked for payment. The woman hung up on him. I emailed a complaint. Got a standard reply that it was received. I've sent two more and have gotten no reply. I've called and get hung up on constantly. I have file a fraud dispute with my bank. I will not pay for a service I did not get. Stay far far away from these scammers. I will be blasting them on social media if I am not refunded in the next week.

Guest Reservations marked up my room over $60 more than my sister in law that book a room directly with the hotel the same day. Then when we were both not able to make it my SIL canceled 3 days before through Hilton but Guest Reservations took my money and ran! They were rude and kept interrupting me. The hotel's policy is you may cancel within 48 hours of your reservation. This third party company is going to pocket the full amount of my room and not have to pay the hotel. Wrong in so many ways.

I typically do not do reviews. However, I want to ensure everyone stays as far as possible from this company. Just like others have said, it seems like you are getting a great deal. Then you confirm and book the reservation and you recieve an outrageous total. My total booking was showing $245 when I got my confirmation email, they had taken $781 from me. I had called them and gotten a confirmation email saying that I was getting a refund within 3-5 business days. I did not, I have documented 7 times I had called them ranging from bing on hold between 14-1 hour 17 minutes. I have spoken to several agents including Leah and Sydney. They stated their supervisor agents names as Jayna, Shanika, and Izdi. I have asked, cried, yelled over the fact that I am a mother of two children, have two degrees and as a teacher, that is two weeks of my pay that I could not afford to lose. They do not care, they just want your money. It truly is so so sad. Please learn from my mistake.

I mistakenly booked my hotel through this website thinking it was the actual hotel's website (it can be very deceptive). They advertised cheaper than anywhere else, making me think I had a deal, but then added on fees which I did not see until they had already charged the card. These fees added over $200 to the bill. They will say it's because they have to pay all applicable taxes, but the place I was booking (Charleston, SC) only charges a 14% tax on hotel reservations. This would not have added $200 to the bill for the price I paid, only about $50. What they are doing is not illegal, but it is deceptive. We were able to get a refund by calling the 800 number associated with the charge on the bank account and I suggest everyone else do the same.
