Like others said, charge 50% in a disingenuous and misleading way. Disputing with my credit card company.
Unfortunately I hadn't seen any of the thousands of warning reviews for this company and its various other guises before I got scammed. My booking almost doubled to €705 once I had paid for it, and it took me several weeks to have them cancel the booking. However that didn't solve the problem since they have now taken my money and I have neither money nor a valid hotel reservation.
Ignore the dozens of automatically generated five star reviews with no text on them, they are just put there to bring up their ratings. This is a crooked outfit, a scam designed to take your money and put it in their pockets.
Don't even consider booking through this outfit. And beware, they masquerade as the actual hotel website, or as the reservations department of the hotel, with a page that looks like the hotel's site and prices that match those of the hotel. However when you click and pay, you find they have added a huge mark-up, almost as much again in my case, and you can do nothing about it.
I have been in contact with the US embassy to make a complaint to law enforcement, but I don't know if that will help me get a refund.
Best advice is to avoid them altogether. If you can't book directly, use a genuine reseller like booking.com

Booked through this company for three nights in Hue Hin, Thailand. After you make the payment they invoice you for nearly double the price, very hard to get hold of the company from Thailand. When I eventually got through to them by asking to make a booking, they refused stating their policy was none refundable. I might add they I was unaware this is an USA company if I had know I would not have booked with them as I have past experience of being scammed my American companies thru Google.
Strangely this never happens with other countries perhaps the USA should copy the Chinese business practices.

This website masquerades as the hotel website. Requires prepaid reservations (in fine print) and offers 0 ability to change or cancel a reservation (not even within the first 30 seconds). It leads you to believe you are booking through an established hotel website, when in actuality you are booking through their website, which has a higher rate, and no ability to change or cancel your reservation. Customer service agents are rude and unhelpful.

My daughter needed a safe place to stay after her car broke down. I got online and click a link to book a room. The link is not the hotel link. There is no direct hotel link. It's Guest Reservations. But they never say they are a 3rd party. Even after I question the exorbitant fee for one night. But it's urgent. So I book. I requested a pet friendly room because she has a dog. Therefore, I get a call an hour later from the hotel asking for the pet fee, another charge on top of the $60 booking fee NOT mentioned by the agent. I questioned the rate 3 times prior to booking. Not once did the agent say he was with a booking agency. I paid over $200 for a $100 room. Utterly ridiculous. Lesson learned.

They charged a $64 fee on one night hotel room that cost $119… they don't show you the fee until you've charged your card. Stay away
Hi Andrea, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
I booked through another site Accor hotels for Circular Quay Sebal town house and Guest reservations have obviously "stole" the booking. I cancelled the booking through Accor hotels well before the date due and not knowing it was through Guest reservations I lost $800A - they then said I did not turn up! I have tried to get a refund to no avail - I would advise people not book with Guest reservations who you can't even contact - Its better to deal directly with the hotel. These people are disgraceful taking hard earned money from battlers. No morals I gave one to put this on website

This site is a total ripoff, they add exorbitant fees on top of the hotels price without disclosing them until after checkout. When you try to cancel they tell you it's non-refundable and they cannot give any money back.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor they said there was a two-hour wait, when I asked for a physical address they would not give it to me saying they are not online company, and could only provide an email address.
Stay Away

They make you think you are dealing with the hotel directly. They lure you in with good rates, then only AFTER you have put in your CC info and confirmed, when you get your email confirmation, you find out they charge you exhorbitant "fees & taxes" (in my case 50%).
When I called to inquire they refused to cancel my reservation.
I would rate them zero stars if I could. Stay as far away as you can!

I googled the name of the hotel I wanted to browse to see how much it would cost for a night. Guest reservations came up at the top before the hotel website but due to the name, it appeared as I was merely directed to the reservations page of the hotel website. I did not see any of the fees populated after I had entered my credit card information but it is usually shown on the next page on other websites before a payment confirmation. It turns out that the costs were strategically placed below the "complete reservation button" and I had already secured the payment. I would not have agreed to the payment if it was more transparent as there was a $100 fee and there was a cancellation policy indicating that you could cancel but would not be reimbursed. I called the hotel and they confirmed that it was through a different 3rd party website but assured me there was free cancellation up to 24 hours in advanced. Because the name of the 3rd party was different than the hotel reported and was very ambiguously titled "guest reservations," it took me some time to figure out the right number to call. However, they sent me a cancellation confirmation. When they did not reimburse me, I filed a dispute claim through my credit card company to which they declined stating that I was purposeful trying to evade their transparent cancellation fees and sent a screen shot of what it supposedly looked like upon check out with the No cancellation fee clearly stated. I called the company directly and they told me that if I had specifically asked prior to the reservation date I could have received a small discount. Their websites FAQ also guarantees a full reimbursement upon cancellation as well. I had reopened the dispute noting that the design of their website has been strategically set up to mislead potential consumers to impulsively make an irreversible costly spend. Ultimately the dispute went in my favor because of how unethical this company is known to be and the info I submitted.

This hotel booking site is a complete scam. They do everything they can to try to fool customers into thinking you are booking with the hotel - you are not! The so-called reservations are bogus. What's worse is when this fly-by-night company requests a credit card number to "hold the reservation", they immediately charge for the entire booking - even in my case where the reservation was for 6 months away. If you've gone this far, you're too late! They will not refund the charge even if you try to cancel the reservation. When you call them to discuss and if you are lucky enough to get someone who speaks English, it's of no use. They will simply lie, cheat, and steal. Just try asking to speak to a supervisor and they will hang up on you. Bottom line is if you see anywhere on the site the name "Guest Reservations" with a logo that looks like a call bell - RUN AWAY!

I called this company thinking that I was calling Hilton. They said while making my reservation that they are the best rate guaranteed. After I realized that I had not called Hilton, I called actual Hilton and confirmed that I actually had a reservation and I asked them to quote me the price for the same hotel room type for the same night. It was $30 cheaper using Hilton. I called guess reservations back and asked if they are supposed to be the best rate guaranteed. The agent said "That's the tagline". So I told her what Hilton quoted me and asked if they would match that price. And she said it's the best price guaranteed for 3rd party companies. I said, " so the answer is no?" She said yes she's sorry but the answer is no. I find this company fraudulent and scammy. They rank highest in the search results for the hotel you're looking for and make you feel that you're contacting your hotel and then the tell you they're giving you the best rate when in actuality they are not. Moral of the story is always make sure you're calling the actual company if the hotel. They will probably have the best rates and you'll get your points. Hilton also price matches and gives you a 25% discount if a 3rd party company beats their price.

Very deceptive. I was specifically trying to book directly with Mövenpick but the search brought me to Guest Reservations site. I called the hotel and the booking did go through but the extra fees they charged, >35% were not associated with the hotel that's their scam. I see that Guest Reservations has standard responses to these negative review that say to DM them but no follow that says they actually we able to cancel or refund the charges. When do we ever read the fine print? Hopefully I've learnt my lesson.

Totally misleading. Deceptive from its core impersonating the hotel. "Add ons" are not revealed until after they have your card then as your jaw is dropping when you realize you've been scammed it processes. Don't know how they sleep. I'm a firm believer in what comes around goes around, so look out GR. BTW I picked a 1 star because I didn't see any negative stars.

Unethical company…I booked a room…then maybe ONE MINUTE later accidentally cancelled, as I was confused. So I called and asked them to renew reservation…their reply nope we keep your money and you can't have the room…I said that is unethical then agent said my phone was cutting out- and put me on hold-I got cut off so I called again and the second agent I talked also said she couldn't hear me on my cell and hung up one me(I have NEVER had a problem with my connecting on my phone at home before) so I lost all money…terrible people

I booked through the website and after my credit card was charged 908$, it said on their website "Credit Card is declined". What a fraud!
They have no response to emails.
Do not ever deal with them.

I thought I was booking at the Hilton website, but it was the guestreservations.com site that fakes the original company but adds their own charge - saw this at the last minute and noped out of there. Booked the same room at the Hilton website, saved $300 per night. Careful this site does not intercept your booking, total rip off.

Absolutely shocking - fraud and theft. Website advertised the hotel room
At £90. When we received the confirmation email they had taken £179.10 almost double the amount. Called immediately to cancel and told
We couldn't despite their false advertising of prices. The police, ombudsmen and bank fraud team have been informed and this matter is being investigated further. Also we now do
Not have the money to spend on our childrens Christmas as we have had to book another hotel so are nearly £180 out of pocket. Customer services beyond useless. How you people sleep at night I don't know. Karma will get you.

Refuses to refund even 5 MINUTES after reservation. Charged well over $200 extra to book through them vs. direct. Immoral, heartless thieves.
