I sent my sister some food via Grub Hub and they strung us along the entire evening, until finally cancelling the order hours later with no explanation. I called the next day to find out what happened and they "looked into my issue" and finally told me that the restaurant had closed early and that was the reason they couldn't deliver. Since no restaurant would "close early" with outstanding orders, and Grub Hub had shared a number of emails throughout the evening with new ETA's, the story did not hold water. I called the restaurant and found out that they did not close early and had been open until 10pm that night. Grub Hub seems to be an organization that lies to customers, throws it's restaurant partners under the bus to cover their shoddy service, and quits early for the night without a thought as to who's plans they might be ruining by simply cancelling the order on their own whim when they don't feel like following through. From the multiple complaints I see listed here, this organization doesn't stand a chance against the new upstart competitors (Door Dash, etc) that understand this is a service business.
We're a Chinese Restaurant in Madison, WI. We have had a few online platforms represent our company to provide a nice online ordering experience for our customers. GrubHub, however, is not one of them. We've asked them on numerous occasions to stop, and they promise to take it off their website. Very often a few days/week later, they will resume with putting our restaurant on their platform. When I try to escalate the issue to their customer care reps, they send me to restaurant care, when I explain the problem to restaurant care, they send me back to customer care. The loop goes on and on. They don't care to be a business of integrity. The fact that I refused to take a GrubHub driver's order of one of our unknowing customers, he gave us a 1 star review. On top of that, he told our customer and that customer now thinks we're the bad guys and also gave us a 1 star rating. They steal customers away from us and potential tips that should belong to OUR drivers, not these snakes. Now we've recently been blasted by the driver with the 1star rating and from our customer, why? Just because we are trying to defend our restaurant? There isn't even a way to rate grubhub on Google, that I know of. They take zero responsibility and accountability for their actions. Also you may be asking, why not get more business with GrubHub? Well, when they take 1 to 2 to sometimes 3 hrs to pick up the food we prepared, just to deliver it to our customer, it leaves a very bad taste in our customers mouth. Not to mention, we are the ones that get blamed for it. So, something needs to be done.
Grubhubs system goes down so often they call it Monica, confirm my order, cancel it holding my 58 dollars for three to five days, what if that was all I had or even if not they could have easily redone the order and it would be 10 min later instead they told me it will probably do it again then I would be out another 58 bucks. The delivery driver texted he couldn't find us even though he had the correct address. Then he told the restaurant he had made the delivery. No food was left here. When I contacted the company re this issue it took forever to receive a response and then they were hesitant to offer a refund. We will have to see if we actually receive that refund.
Half of our food was missing and was advised that we could "reorder" which would end up costing an additional $20 for service fee, delivery fee and tip. Also, my account was charged $9 more than my order total was. The company offered a refund for the missing food and that was all. If you are going to pay people to deliver food, I suggest all of the food be delivered and there be a better option than to "reorder" when food is missing.
I ordered food through GrubHub site, about10 minutes later the restaurant called and said they had to cancel the order because there was no GrubHub drivers available. I was still charged $37. After talking with someone at the restaurant and three different people at GrubHub, including a supervisor, I still did not get my money refunded.
I called four days after this happened (cancellation) and was told my refund would be through in probably one more day as it takes a few days and to call back if it wasn't resolved. So I call back a couple days later because it's still showing on my account and was then told that too much time had passed and they couldn't refund me because that was their policy. They're only out to make money and do not care about their customers!
Don't trust the ratings in the app for the restaurants. It doesn't give the customers an option to make their own review it just creates its own statical rating based of the numbers from GrubHub. For example, I ordered my food at 11:16am (a cheeseburger and fries from Five Guys) I was quoted an estimated delivery time of 12:00 to 12:10. As time went on, I checked the status of my order and noticed my ETA was increasingly getting longer and longer. I did not receive my order until 1:15pm. GrubHub will mark my order as arrived on time since they were constantly changing my ETA. Changing the ETA is one thing, but increasing it by an hour and not receiving for two hours after ordering and then not even giving the customer the chance to review is just manipulative.
When I contacted customer service the second time about my order, he was quick to offer me 20% off my next order but did it in a very rushed way as if I was just a number on a task list. Not even showing any kind empathy considering I had to wait two hours for my food.
Never received order, yet my card was charged, and then they send me a text message asking " how was the food?". I had to contact my credit to dispute charge because service was never rendered. HORRIBLE
I order food through Grubhub.com. Look for this restaurant called No. 1 Chinese Restaurant. This restaurant is located in Ayden, NC 130-NC 102, *******919. I live in Greenville, NC and they delivered to me with hot to warm food. They prepared my order with care and made it with love because it was delicious and tasty. The prices are cheaper than Greenville NC Chinese restaurants so far. The delivery charges are pricey but it was worth it because the food in to die for. I got my order less than an hour or on time, the delivery person practices no contact. They will text you before and after they deliver your food. $6.99 is the delivery fee but it was worth it to me. I will be ordering from this place whenever I want Chinese food. The prices are very reasonable too. So if you have not ordered from this place yet take a chance they are worth it. View the pics of their food after delivery. No spills just pretty to look at. I order the fried dumplings, french fries, chicken with mixed veggies, and chicken with broccoli combination+extra chicken meat. These are small sizes, just imagine what the large sizes would look like. 5 stars for this place.
So I order food for my pregnant wife, on a night I just don't feel like cooking. The order says an hour for delivery I don't think much about it because of all the Covid 19 stuff probably extra busy for delivery. In Short... THE FOOD NEVER DELIVERED! SO I CHAT WITH GRUBHUB TO GET MY REFUND WHILE IM NOW MAKING MY PREGNANT WIFE SOME DINNER, AND THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO OFFER ME A 50% OFF COUPON FOR MY NEXT ORDER! AS IF IM EVER GOING TO ORDER THRU THEM AGAIN! THEY STATE THAT THE RESTAURANT THAT NEVER DELIVERED THE FOOD HAS TO "APPROVE THE REFUND"... TOMORROW! I AM STILL NOT SURE WHAT PLANET THE MAMAGEMENT IS FROM BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT I HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED MY REFUND AND WILL

Three times now after using grubhub, within a few days to a week there are fraudulent charges on my card via grubhub in other states. Three times in a year I've had to shut my card down and get another because grubhub is either terribly insecure or they employ thieves using the cards themselves or selling them to those who do. I'm done with grubhub permanently, and I'm telling everyone I know and anyone who will listen why.
I had my doubts after a friend said it took 2 1/2 hours to get his food and I'm up to eating over an hour and the store just closed. They continue to keep pushing back my order. This site is complete trash. The restaurant is less than 5 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE. Tried to use delivery because of Clovid-19 to be nice but this is garabage
I love Nom Nom Noodles and will continue to order here in the future but I will Never use Grubhub again. This was my first time using Grubhub. Food was ordered at 7:03 PM, the website said the food was out for delivery at 7:16PM and we did not receive our order until 8:19 PM. The restaurant said the driver was extremely late picking up. We had a cash tip waiting for our driver but did not give it to him considering how late he was. He also didn't say a word when he dropped off our food. No apology, Nothing. Terrible service on Grubhub's (and particularly this driver's) behalf.
Order through Grubhub, after an hour of waiting called restaurant per grubhub instructions, restaurant stated that the order had been ready and no one came to pick it up. I went and picked up the food myself. Grubhub refused to pay for their delivery fee, and then I find out they have also up-charged the food they are delivering. So they up-charge the food, do not deliver it and will not refund. Should have never strayed from doordash...

Currently I'm a cancer patient in bed looked forward to the food was being very considerate of their challenges...
Placed order on Grubhub, received confirmation and delivery time, never received order or ability to activate and track delivery on website. Website directed to "call Sonora..." Called Sonora "delivery person just left" never asked the name on the order. Hung up and went to voicemail the rest of the night! No returned call. Had to request refund for $126 dinner from Grubhub today.
Shame on both taking $, lying, and not communicating order was cancelled last night! Skip them both...
Avoid GH at all cost. The driver can see the tip amount before accepting the job. So if you're not a good tipper, you will not see your food. I waited for 1.5 hours for my food last night and it never arrived and I tipped 15%. Just use Uber Eats. GrubHub is a mediocre!
If you want to b sure your meal arrives, use the restaurant delivery service or another service NOT Grubhub! Our meal was on the way and then cancelled after 40 min. I was asked to reorder, waited 40 min and again cancelled without any explanation. Today I hear froM GH that they will

So I have used them many times in the past, but have never been so angry as I was tonight. I ordered mexican food and 3hours later they lie to me on the phone telling me my order was cancelled when the driver arrived to pick up my order, which if true would have been at 8pm when it was supposed to be ready. I spoke to the driver via text and he said that he was still waiting at around 9pm. Shortly after I put in a help ticket and was told at about 10pm my order would be here in 15 minutes. When it did not arrive, I called the help # and was told by the person who answered the phone that my order was cancelled when the delivery driver arrived to pick up the food. This could not have been true at any time. I HATE being lied to and hence forth will no longer use their services. As soon as I verify I got my refund.
I used grub hub this evening. At the time my order should have been delivered my driver sent me a text saying she is unable to deliver my order at this time. I asked if another driver would. She said the restaurant had an hour wait. I asked if my order would just be delivered late, she responded I would have to replace my order. I return to the app to find the restaurant is closed, I cannot reorder, I call the restaurant and I am told my order is ready they are just waiting for the driver. Mind you, this is only 5 minutes after the driver told me it was an hour wait and I needed to place my order again. So, I go to pick up my food myself since grub hub says the order is still in the works, and this driver who said she would not be delivering it and I needed to place a new order is still scheduled to be delivering it. At this point I decide to call grub hub to file a complaint. I was on hold for 45 minutes waiting to speak to a customer service representative. I used grub hub in March and placed an order that said it was delivered but it had not been, and I was never contacted by the driver. I thought it was a one time deal with a bad delivery driver, but now this? Twice? I will absolutely never use the grub hub service again. This company should be ashamed of the customer service or lack thereof that they provide. I would rate grub hub negative stars if possible. Save yourself the trouble and use a different delivery service.
I ordered at 7pm arrival was at 840pm-850pm. It kept getting extended all the way to 9:25pm. I got text that it will be late once. The time changed to 9pm. LOL. The resturant closed at 8PM. I tracked this girl and she arrived at store at 9:25PM then I got message that the resturant cancelled my order. No this girl never went to pick up my order until 2hrs 25 minutes after it was entered. So I get refund but not for 5 days. I will never order from Grubhub again.! I advise everyone to not do so as well. Thanks *******203 for no food no service your irresponsible behavior and stupidity!
Answer: I travel for a living and have experienced the lousy service that is Grub Hub. From Philadelphia PA to Shreveport LA and multiple other cities THIS SERVICE SUCKS. There's nothing good to say about it.

Answer: Yes, it is normal. Original delivery times are almost never met. No drivers, Lost Drivers, Poorly trained or untrained drivers.

Hope you were able to cancel it, but wonder if it showed up in the mean time. For this reason I no longer use a card but pay cash when I get the food. Hope you've managed to eat something by now.
