This has happened to me multiple times which is why I am writing a "review" of Grub hub. They are a horrible service that does not maintain contact with their restaurants to ensure that the store hours are up to date. Resulting in food being hours late or not arriving at all. The best option they give you is here's your money back. Do you even realize why I ordered food in the first place!? I wanted food over money. Whatever people say I have had better experience through Bitesquad and Uber Eats than Grub Hub. Save yourself the trouble, do not order through them.

GrubHub is the worst

GrubHub is inferior to every other delivery service for one simple reason: their customer service is an embarrassment. Every other delivery service that I have used will correct an order if at all possible when they make a mistake. GrubHub will maybe offer a 20% coupon for your next order, but will NEVER try to get you the rest of what you actually ordered.

Thus far, using their service, I have gotten one order out of several that was actually correct. The worst part to me is the 20+ minute wait for customer service, followed by more than 10 minutes of them trying to figure out what's going on. By the time they tell you that you can get a little discount for next time, all of your food is cold, and it's too late to go somewhere else.

Unfortunately, they recently bought Eat24, which had its problems occasionally, but was far more reliable and always did their best to help customers ASAP when things went wrong. As soon as GH took over, things went bad fast. There are so many competing services that it is worth using one of them, even if you have to pay a little more $$, since with GH you will be paying with your time, frustration, lack of expected food, and unnecessary hunger while you wait for them to not fix their blunders.

Would have given 0 star if i could
They do not deliver the food they promise
They don't inform you either that they are not delivering the food
My family has slept hungry twice since every one was waiting for food and it was too late towards the end when food was not delivered and all restaurants were closed
False information on website about payment
They would charge your credit card even when you use promotional-code and despite you NOT selecting credit card as the payment option

A food delivery service that failed to deliver food and provides inappropriate information and is sneaky about payment

They have done this TWICE
Its a pattern
Also called cheats
Stay away I would suggest

Good Service for Us

I'm shocked by all of the negative reviews. I suspect that some are blaming GH when the blame should go to the restaurants. Once an item was missing. The restaurant wouldn't make it right, but GH gave us a $5 credit. We've used GH many times.

Tried to use this service to order a pizza the order would not go through so I called the pizza place myself to order and paid through them. I was then charged TWICE by Eat24. So I actually paid 3 times! Now I can't get anyone to reverse the two charges from Eat24. I was given 3 phone numbers 2 with only a voice mail and bad email addresses! Stay away!

I'm done with Eat24. Nearly every time I try them, there is an issue and it would normally be easily solved, but because it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone (live chat or via their "help" number) you're left wondering about your order status and feeling helpless if you need to correct anything. So frustrating and lame.
In my most recent case, their site froze just as I paid with Paypal, it said something on the screen like, "Sorry, our dog ate our site"... so I tried to look and figure out if my order had gone through prior to the frozen site and wasn't sure. I checked emails, checked history and decided to order a duplicate since the restaurant was nearing closing time and I didn't want to miss my chance. Then I attempted to reach someone to make sure I didn't have two duplicate orders, but after almost 25 minutes "on hold" on my phone and no response on their live chat either, I gave up. No information, no order, no dinner... NO GOOD. I'm done with these ridiculous clowns. Calling local restaurants directly from now on :)

Wow. Just Wow.

Normally I would never right a review like this however Grubhub was so incompetent tonight that it boggles the mind. After I placed an order at 9 I received an email at 11:45 (an hour past expected delivery). It revealed not only was my order canceled BY GRUBHUB, not only were all of the restraunts in the area closed, BUT IN 3 HOURS A DRIVER NEVER PICKED UP THE ORDER. IT TOOK THEM 3 HOURS TO TELL ME THIS. I am litterally so hungry RN and cant get food because this took so long. The worst thing is that I might view this as a one time issue except for the fact that THIS EXACT SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE.

A 5 dollar discount which expires in two months i not enough. I litterally did not eat tonight because of this companies incompitance and I am deleting the app.

I've placed a few orders and the delivery time started out as 45 -60 minutes but when I went back to track it, delivery time suddenly changed to an hour and a half! WTH?
Some of the restaurants I click on aren't taking orders. At all. So why are they on GrubHub. For advertising I suppose, but it makes me mad to take the time to click on them only to find they don't take orders and tell me to "Check Back Soon."
Grub Hub is a pain in the $#*!.
I'm switching to Uber Eats.

Unbelievable

I am extremely shocked that yelp would partner with Eat 24.1st time I was notified an hour after ordering that the restaurant was closed for a private party. Second time food was 35 Min late, ice cold with no notice. Yet trying to get ahold of a rep at Eat 24 is near impossible do to the level of complaints that come in. Bad bad business practice. Restaurants should watch out partnering with Eat 24 as it makes them look just as bad

The dang Shrimp heads were still on the salt and pepper shrimp and they were too slimy to get off, the war won ton soup had fried wontons in it, the sweet and sour pork was undercooked, cold and wasn't pork but chicken, chow mien was also cold and undercooked, dumplings look like they had been sitting around for days cold and falling apart. WORST experience. It says no delivery fee but I was charged 8.00 WTHECK horrid. I ordered enough for three days lunches and threw it all away

I only received part of my order, and Grub Hub says it's the restaurant, and Red Lobster says it's Grub Hub. I got a refund, but when only some of you get to eat, it sucks. I haven't ordered from Grub Hub since the last time this happened months ago in Chicago. I was hoping Tampa, FL may be a better experience, but no. It's really a shame there is no better option in Tampa. In Chicago I switched to Uber Eats because of the poor service given by Grub Hub. Not a good choice at all. It started out as a good idea, but the customer service is awful! And they can't seem to get it right -really? Just copy and paste! I give correct instructions, can no one there read?

I ordered from Filippis in Little Italy. I asked for meat ball with extra sauce on side. I received a pizza with meatballs mashed on it. When delivery guy asked restaurant what to do, they said pretty much, move on to next delivery. The delivery dude showed me the text. I got nothing from the restaurant, no credit/nothing. I will not use again. Very disappointing!

When the order was delivered it was missing a whole entire meal and was cold. Called customer service and they were no help they refused to deliver the rest of the order and said they would try to get me a refund but would not guarantee a refund. Jackson was deliver driver and Rita was the manager that was no help after fighting for a refund i finally got a refund for the $11.11 for the meal that was missing when I got the email for the refund they only took $4.10 off. Had to call back and have now been sitting on hold again.

About two months ago we had over 50 options when ordering from Grub Hub. Now we have 1! When we call and complain about it they say the restaurants must have updated their map... all 50 of them? This makes no sense at all. So we called one less than 4 miles from our home and they said sure they accept delivery to all areas of our city. Pretty much lets the air out of that lie. 45 minutes later we are still no closer to having actual help on what hapowned. What is more odd is that we cannot even leave a negative Google review because you can't find the business on there.

Food showed up cold, 2 hours late, after multiple phone calls. Gave them a second chance. Food never showed up, and finally received a call notifying me that my order had been cancelled and I would not receive my refund for 3-5 business days. Goodbye Eat24.

I hate GrubHub so incredibly much. I wish restaurants didn't require customers to use it. I've been fighting with this website for 45 minutes! I'm now looking for a different place to get food. I gave 1 star because zero wasn't an option. GrubHub, I HATE you.

Incredibly slow service. I've used it twice now. The first time took 1 hour and 30 minutes when I'm 3 miles from the restaurant. The second time is present and its been 45 minutes. Each time I check on the ETA the continues to be pushed further away. I would like to note the first time I tipped 20% which amounted to $8 and this time I tipped 30% which amounts to $10.

I placed an order with grubhub and after waiting until ten minutes after my order was supposed to be here I called the restaurant only to find out that my food has been sitting there and there is no drive to be found. I asked "What about my food?" and they said that when this happens they re-make the meal. (so does this happen a lot?) oh and what a WASTE of food. GrubHub should have to pay for that extra meal. Well the restaurant told me I would have to call grubhub. Called and was placed on hold for 15 minutes while they figured it out. Then was hung up on. (didn't drop the call because I'm on a land line) called back the second time and found out that there were drivers in the area when the order was placed but by the time it was done there was no one in the area to pick it up. THEN WHY HAVE THE OPTION TO ORDER IT?!?!?!?!?!. So after I tell them I would still like to eat tonight they finally find a driver I guess and say they will send them. After hanging up with them after a few minutes I get a call from the driver herself that she is 15 minutes from the restaurant and asks if I still want to get it. At this point I'm wondering two things. Why didn't the company call me back to let me know they had someone and is there any communication between the company and their drivers at all? Why did they not tell her I still wanted it? Overall I'm very disappointed with this company. They need to get their act together and find some way to make it a better experience or maybe they could actually care about the people that are paying the for such terrible service.
