They make false claims of offers, sending emails and push notifications and then will not honor them at checkout. They have done this multiple times and it demonstrates unethical advertising practices, including but not limited to bait & switch.
Driver never showed up with 72.00 worth of food. They play games on the phone so don't even think calling customer service. I was told no refund, but luckily, my bank is reversing charges. Wish I read the reviews before I downloaded the app that I deleted. Don't believe the hype.
I've ordered through GrubHub a few times with mixed results. Unfortunately, it seems that the service is in serious decline in recent months. Out of the last 4 orders I've placed 3 have been significantly late (over 40 minutes). Contacting customer service has useless and they seem to willfully unhelpful.
I don't know how GrubHub stays in business considering how often the screw up orders. This last time I ordered the driver went to the wrong address so they canceled my order because of a difference in "mileage." Hope the driver enjoyed eating my food! Completely ridiculous company with some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I've been treated better at the DMV.
Tried to use grub hub 3x in the last month and EVERY SINGLE TIME the orders keep getting pushed back over and over and over and over again. If you don't mind waiting almost two hours for cold food go ahead and waste your money.
Order was supposed to be delivered by 10:30 ended up getting my food at 11:30. An hour later. Food was cold: Wings, fries and chicken tenders from Buffalo Wild wings. Dinner sucked and I paid $75 for it. NEVER will I use grub hub again.
Literally the worst company and customer service I have ever been in contact with. They FORGOT part of my order, then did NOTHING to fix it.
I was in contact with them for over an hour via chat and on the phone, and they did nothing. DO NOT EVER use this company. I will be calling corporate offices. I have been a customer for awhile from them and have given them lots of business, and they just lost a customer tonight.
Customer service is ridiculous, drivers forget food, and they do nothing to fix it. I have never been treated so poorly by an company. When I customer calls and complains, you fix it or you lose a customer.
Well they just lost a customer, and I will be letting everyone I know about this and to use literally any other food delivery service. Ridiculous company and customer service is a complete joke!
I ordered twice from Grubhub to have dennys delivered to my hotel room in one night and both of the times the driver said that he delivered my food and did not deliver it. I called twice about it and all they did was refund my money and not correct the problem. So that driver is still out driving around taking peoples orders and getting away with it.
I've been using GrubHub for years now, so I'm coming at this review from a place of extensive experience with the site and its customer service in multiple cities now. If you want a clear picture of GrubHub customer service, read on.
My colleagues and I have used GrubHub in New York, Miami, LA, and Portland, Oregon. The results are consistent: GrubHub is as bad as customer service gets.
It's easy to blame these experiences on the customer service reps, but they are legitimately trying their hardest to do their jobs under the auspices of poor management that does not empower them to help the customer. GrubHub takes no ownership over mistakes in your order nor do they offer you refunds (except for specific items - if you can swing it - which then gets billed to the restaurant lol). As someone who works in customer service for a tech company, our clients would laugh us out of the building if we behaved similarly. We use great customer service to distinguish ourselves from the pack of competitors. GrubHub uses awful customer service to do the same.
As someone who now proceeds with extreme caution on this site, I follow up with restaurants by phone (What's the point of using GrubHub if you're gonna call? Well, some of these restaurants ONLY allow you to order delivery through GrubHub, so I'm left with no choice.). When I do follow up with restaurants, they have sometimes received the incorrect order from GrubHub! In other words, I call them to confirm the order I'm staring at on my screen, and they repeat to me a different order. Whatever you want to blame this on GrubHub - be it UX, Product, the restaurant, the customer (I wouldn't put it past you) - other services don't fail this often. And when they do, they refund you in full.
Our office stopped using GrubHub for late night meals after way, way too many messed up orders. We order the same food, from the same restaurants, to the same address and your competitors seem to get it right 19 times out of 20. Heed this warning, folks:
If you can swing it, order the same food with another service. If you can't, make sure to call the restaurant a few minutes after placing your order to confirm it.
Grubhub has mixed reviews when it comes to people ordering through them. AS far as business owners such as myself they have extremely poor customer service. A manager is never around, they dont give 24hour live support which some businesses need and we were initially told. They have raised our rates sky high and lowered their quality of service to the restaurant owners overall. Their software is very poor and they care very little to help on improving it. They make a point to show up on any search of course but they fail on quality by far. Their volume of users forces restaurants to accept them but none are happy with Grubhub/Seamless. Please Support your local restaurants and order directly through them
I ordered food only to be told and hour later there were no drivers in my area to deliver what I ordered. Oh, after I've was already charged of course.
We ordered from Red Robin from Grubhub today. When the food arrived we were missing an entire order and side. We called grubhub to have them get the food from Red Robin and bring it but they said all they can do is refund us and then we have to reorder. This caused us to have to tip again and my husband to have to wait another hour for his food. This is unacceptable and we shouldnt have to pay for mistakes between grubhub and the restaurant. Not to mention the additional delivery fee and taxes as well!
I've been using Grubhub for several years, and have generally had quite positive experiences, but their friend referral program sucks. The program is described like this: refer a friend; friend has to make an order of over $15 before tax, delivery fee, tip, etc.; friend gets to apply a $12 promo code on that first order; then "up to four days later" you receive a code via email for your own $12 discount.
Almost two weeks went by after my friend made a first order and was able to apply the $12 discount to it, and I never got my code. I contacted Grubhub and they told me that they can't give me a code, because they need to verify my and my friend's email addresses (what?) and then I can place a full-price order, for which they'll then *refund* $12 to my account. I kept saying, "Those were not the terms of the program in any way, and I don't want to make an order with just a promise of a refund that might never be made." Besides, that means I'm making *two* orders to get this stupid $12 discount. Not. The. Terms.
If you dig for the *full* referral program terms online, you'll find a paragraph that says they basically don't have to honor the terms of the discount for any reason whatsoever. Since I am absolutely fed up with businesses shrugging and acting like they're above any accountability, I tried to delete my Grubhub account. Well, good luck with that! You have to dig around online yet again to find a secret email address to which you can send a cancellation request -- Please, sirs, may I close my own account?-- but they might not even respond or do anything to help you close your account.
I am done with Grubhub.
Eat24 canceled my order on February 8th and its now February 20th they never refunded my credit card. And now customer service is telling me to contact my bank, that they cant do anything else.
Grubhub is a? Scam. I received a grubhub gift card from my colleagues when I was out from having surgery. I have been trying to use my gift card for sometime now, but it keeps asking for either my credit card or debit card
Which I am most certainly not going to give them. All I want to do is use the funds that was paid to them by my colleagues and be done with them. I give their customer service a call and was informed the no o e can redeem their paid gift card without first providing Grubhub with their credit or debit card information. I told that twit on a girl and that asinine of a supervisor it would be a cold day in Hell before I would provide their dishonest company with my financial I formation to redeem a grift card that was already paid for. Than I asked for a refund, which they refused. So I requested that my case be escalated above the idiotic supervisor and I plan to speak with an attorney as I know this cannot be legal: you purchase a grift card, but cannot redeem it unless you provide the company with your financial information to either you credit or debit card. Is that crazy or what! What I big scam! I loan to ensure the red d me the money from myy gift card or allow me to redeem it without demanding my financial I formation. Don't ever use the Grubhub company they are nothing but crooks!
Used twice. First time over an hour late. Second time, never arrived. Recieved call from grubhub 2 hours after I placed the order saying that there was a mix up and that the driver hadn't even left the restaurant. Canceled the order and will never use grubhub again.
Originally ordered the food and it said it'd take 35 min. It's now going on 2 hours and after contacting grubhub twice, once via text chat and second via phone call the best "David" could do was tell me his manager would call me tomorrow. Updated* It apparently took so long that the company I ordered food from auto-canceled the order because it closed. Terrible service, will not be using again.
Placed an order at 4:58PM. From the app (specifically, the feature where you can see the driver enroute), it appears that the driver (Lisa(?)) picked up my food, and then drive to a local casino. I hope she enjoyed it.
Doesn't even deserve one star! Two hours I waited only for them to text me the notification that they cancelled my order. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, use Doordash or postmates app.
We waited 2 hours to have food delivered. The restaurant called us after an hour to day the food had been ready but the driver never showed.
Answer: I travel for a living and have experienced the lousy service that is Grub Hub. From Philadelphia PA to Shreveport LA and multiple other cities THIS SERVICE SUCKS. There's nothing good to say about it.

Answer: Yes, it is normal. Original delivery times are almost never met. No drivers, Lost Drivers, Poorly trained or untrained drivers.
Answer: LOL... no kidding right! How can places take 2 hours to get food to you and not necessarily at a peak time. Good luck! Hope you were able to cancel it, but wonder if it showed up in the mean time. For this reason I no longer use a card but pay cash when I get the food. Hope you've managed to eat something by now.

Answer: They just don't care. Company motto must be "customer comes last". They simply trying to salvage whatever market share they can before they get bought out by a superior service that actually cares about customers.
