Use at your own risk. Pros: they do offer some great deals from companies you probably use daily but their are issues with this. Cons: In my opinion you loose relationships with the business by using a Groupon in their store. These business owners usually always loose money on these deals which groupon markets as getting them new customers. I think the owners turn on you for using groupon discount in their store. It is a good and bad site at the same time.

I have been a long term customer of ideeli but recently they have changed their policy in regards to purchasing. I purchased an order for $106 but my card was charged an additional $167. Customer services informed me that it was their policy to do "test holds" to make sure customers are using current credit cards. And by the way it's up to the customer's bank to determine when these holds would credited back to your account but it may take days to come off.

I suggest a new solution.

Hi Denise,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on SiteJabber. We're truly sorry about your experience with our ordering process. While we do place a hold in your account for the amount of your order once you make a purchase, this is just a temporary hold and you will not be charged until your item ships (you can find more information on this process in our FAQ: http://idee.li/121pjA7). Most banks will release a hold within 3-5 business days, but this time frame varies depending on your bank. Unfortunately, I was unable to find your conversation with our Customer Service team in our database. I would love to assist you further, could you please private message me your user id and any other important information so I can look into this immediately? Thanks very much and I look forward to hearing from you.

I have been a customer pretty much since the beginning. Some of the restaurants & companies they offer are not good - but I just starting realizing this and doing further research before purchasing - they are certainly not Costco. I recently had a family emergency arise on the day I was planning to use a yoga groupon - which happened to also be the day it expired. I was in the hospital with my 3 year old son and called the vendor to let them know the situation and that I wouldn't be able to go. I asked them to call me back with my options. Heard nothing. Over the next 2 weeks I contacted them 3 times saying the same thing and just asking for someone to get back to me - even left my email if that was a better form of communication for them. Nothing. I email Groupon asking for a refund or credit since I no longer want to even go to this business since they have absolutely no understanding that unfortunately, emergencies sometimes arise. They email saying there is nothing they can do but I can always use my Groupon for the price I paid! Really?! That is absolutely not acceptable, horrible customer service & the fact that neither was flexible at all or understanding of an emergency, they have forever lost me as a customer... way to go Groupon! Hope it was worth that $29 I paid for the Groupon.

Groupon is amazing! I have ordered quite a bit from them at this point. There were was an event I ordered through Groupon and the company the event was for was impossible to get a old of and Groupon refunded me within 24 hours, no questions. Additionally, there was an item I ordered that was defective and they also refunded me very quick. Groupon is dependable and has excellant deals!

Like many others, Groupon is a poorly ran business. There's no quality control over the restaurants and it's like playing russian roulette. The last 2 restuarants we went to was atrocious. Food was terrible, service was even worst. Groupon needs to get their act together and not allow the dodgy restuarants pull them under. There's a reason why the restaurants advertise on Groupon, the reason being is that they can't generate enough business by themselves and are forced to flog their menus as a last minute attempt to stay afloat!

Groupon - Please get your act together. Very soon, people will recognize your buiness as Sh#ton!

I have always loved Ideeli and never imagined that I would one day have to write a negative review on the site. I gave the site a '2' because i cannot deny that their product offerings are great, but their customer service is one of the worst i've ever experienced. Here is what happened:

My sister and i both shop at ideeli and since I am visiting her, I shopped at Ideeli with my credit card (CC), and used her address for shipping. After I had placed my order, I immediately got an email from ideeli saying the order had been cancelled due to fraudulent activity, but they wouldnt tell me anything else. And when I emailed the fraud prevention team as the email had recommended, no one got in touch with me for two days. So I went ahead and re-ordered the items, and again they canceled the order without explaining why.

When someone finally called me over the phone - 4 days after, they said that they could not ship to my sister's address anymore because the address had been associated with fraudulent activity <---What?! I buy 80% of my stuff online, and never have I heard anything this ridiculous. I tried to probe further, but the rep, Stacy, said she could not tell me 'why' they couldnt ship to the address anymore, but she welcomed me to continue shopping with ideeli. Well, how exactly was I supposed to shop, since the address I was staying at had been blacklisted? I even handed the phone to my sister, since it's her address, I thought they would give her more information. But again, they just said that they could not ship to the address anymore and that was that.

Here is what I think is going on: ideeli flagged the order because they noticed that a different CC had been used for a shipping address on a user account they had on file (my sister's). Kudos to them for catching that! That's what security systems are for. But then, instead of putting in some extra work to verify the order with my sister, or with me, they simply blacklisted the address because two different CCs had been used. That is just lazy, and extremely terrible customer service.

I am very disappointed with ideeli for this, and especially with the tone that Stacy used on the phone. She basically told my sister and I that we could no longer shop with ideeli. I'm sorry ideeli, but i find it extremely unfair that you would have your customers pay for system flaws on your part.

Disappointed!

Hi Kali,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on SiteJabber. We apologize for the quality of your shopping experience. A supervisor has already reached out to you with a response to your query, but here is a quick recap of what was sent to you via email.

Last year, we closed out three different accounts that you had been using simultaneously, which is in violation of our Terms and Conditions (please note users can only have one account when making purchases on our site: http://www.ideeli.com/pages/terms_and_conditions). At the time the accounts were closed, the shipping addresses associated with the accounts were automatically added to a database of addresses that our system checks against each order placed on our site. Said list is checked by the site and any matching addresses listed as the shipping destination are cancelled immediately. Currently, your sister's address is among the addresses in our database. Due to that inclusion, the two orders placed on her new account were cancelled. I noted that as of 5/21 you were able to process orders to your sister's address without issue, but the formatting lead to processing complications as noted in the email mentioned earlier. If you checkout with the revised format going forward, you should not have any further difficulties purchasing from our site.

I truly apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Going forward, we will be reviewing your previous conversations with our fraud management team to confirm that they understand the difference between addresses that are blacklisted for having multiple accounts, and those blacklisted for fraudulent activities. We are also looking into removing the blacklisted addresses from the list so you will not have trouble making purchases on our site going forward. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

If you are in search of a reliable online store for purchasing men and women’s clothing as well as shoes, I would recommend visiting ideeli. It is one of the fastest growing retailers in the United States and guarantees satisfaction for all customers. Each day at 12 noon, the site is updated with an entirely new collection of products sold by them and I was subject to all the listed items. I was quite happy to see the products not priced exorbitantly unlike many similar websites that sell quality clothing and complementary accessories. Sales last only for the given day after which the stock gets replaced. Take advantage of the service today.

I have purchased many meals over the past few years but only recently tried their goods. Restaurants are always a hit or miss and Groupon does not want to refund your certificate even if you get there and the restaurant is not open for business! The goods I bought recently are completely defective-one is the BUCCO sandals they are still selling on their website. Not only can I not return them because it is past the 14 day period but they are not sized correctly. Size 9 w/a narrow foot is more like an 8 super narrow in BUCCO shoes. Groupon does not care that they sell defective goods on their site. BUYER BEWARE! More often than not, I have found the goods and services sold on their site are offered by companies and people who do not have enough business due to their lack of customer service and quality of products.

I have purchased several Groupons over the last few years. Until now, I have been completely satisfied. I recently went to apply a Groupon I purchased for Carbonite, an online computer backup system. I have had the system for almost a year and it is about to expire. Unfortunately, when I tried to apply the code, the site will not allow it. Carbonite says it is for NEW subscriptions only. This is absolutely not clear on the Groupon, nor did I see it on the purchase offer. Not happy at all..

Last two Groupon purchases have been a bust! Latest was for audio/video transfer to DVD. Redemption Codes didn't work. Groupon's advice was to contact the company. Companies advice was to try to access website again in a day or two. A week later coupons still don't work. Probably will have to cancel my credit card purchase.
Previous Groupon was for detailing cars. Sketchy company didn't answer phone. Turned out it was a folding chair with a sign in a parking building in an industrial area. After a bunch of us complained, Groupon refunded our money.
Inescapable conclusion is that Groupon does not investigate to see if there is an actual business before it sells coupons.

I used to be an avid Ideeli shopper. I loved all the sales they had and they have great deals. HOWEVER, they used to be soooo accomodating! A few years ago, I bought a pair of shoes, they didn't fit and they gave me a credit right then to re-buy them so they wouldn't sell out. I returned them the next day via UPS no problem and had my new shoes that fit! Fast forward to literally a few minutes ago and the same thing happened, and I was told that not only can I NOT do that, but they wouldn't even apply my credit for my returned jacket unless the return made it to their wearhouse before they shipped out the new jacket. This was frustrating especially because they can see where your package is (so they know it will be there in THREE days) and could easily prove it was on the way. Not only that, but worst case, if it didn't meet their return standards or they didn't receive the jacket, they could just charge me for the jacket I exchanged it for. It's not like they don't have my credit card on file!

Anyway, after "Glen" told me he'd issue me a $10 credit to use today, I asked him if I could change my store credit return for the jacket I'd just shipped back to a refund. That $10 would cover the $8 they charge you to refund your card, so it'd balance out. Then he told me he had to escalate it to returns and I wouldn't know if I could change that until tomorrow. But the $10 is only good for today. So really, if they decide not to honor my request, I've spent $90 on a jacket I was planning on paying $50 for. And I don't want to have even more money out on that site. So, I left hating Ideeli and not even wanting the damn jacket. Thanks Ideeli for screwing up my Saturday morning!

I've purchased quite a good number of vouchers and products. I do not have any problem with the voucher system but I believe they should not sell goods anymore. The first good I purchased was a shower head almost a year ago and it completely fell apart yesterday. The chrome (plastic) holder snapped and it has also been leaking everywhere. I never even received the second one. I waited two months until I asked for a refund and at that point they still had no idea where it was. Amazingly I've ordered a few other things that arrived okay. If their tracking still says it's not shipped after two weeks I email them and they send it out after my email, I've learned from my second order that you have to follow up.

I recently purchased two groupon deals for The Chequers Pub in Lychtett Poole, Dorset. One was for a carvery for two, and when we went along for the meal the potatoes were rock hard as were the yorkshire puddings. The wine was almost undrinkable and the puddings (the menu said they were £3.50 each) were very tiny. The cream tea was even worse, with two small oblong iced cakes (the ones you get for 99p for 6) which were shop bought and like cardboard, along with scones that were bought in bulk and very small, cold and tasted dry. The sanwiches and tea were fine. The jam was just a red type of jam, no strawberries in it. Don't buy deals for this pub as you will be dissapointed. The tea cost £15.00 with a glass of sparking wine. You could have got a better tea in M&S or Debenhams.

A few months ago, I would have given them 5 stars. I made dozens of purchases and brought them dozens of new customers

Now, they are less than 1 star. And this is not because of a single transaction. My last 5 purchase have been a TERRIBLE experience. Wrong items recieved, items not listed correctly, items STILL not recieved, a month after I purchased it.

The worst was this: I bought a new computer (touchscreen acer 8gb ram, i5 processor, 750 gb). Waited 3 weeks for it just to recieve a totally different model than what they advertised. It was $500 with shipping. After another 2 weeks of trying to get it straight with them, I was offered an apology and a refund. Of course, they are not refunding me the shipping cost I paid and I have to wait another 3 weeks for my refund Basically it was a waste of 2 months ( of which I had no computer the whole time) and I ended paying $30 bucks for the aggravation

Not sure what they are doing differently, but they are terrible now. I'm cancelling my account. Anyone who is thinking about using them, I would wait til they figure out where they went wrong and correct their shortcomings.

I like ideeli
June 10, 2013

I like ideeli. The items are always sent out on time and the dates of shipment are clearly listed when ordering. Yes, sometimes orders take weeks but you can't complain because the dates of shipment for each item are listed under the price. It is up to the buyer if they want to wait that long. Ive found some great deals and some good quality pieces, everything has arrived new and in nice red wrapping paper. I had a few issues which were easily resolved by talking to a customer service rep. They're $9.95 monthly shipping charge is very fair if your a frequent shopper, however I wish they offered 2 shipping options, a one time $5.95 or monthly 9.95---that would be awesome! Also, sometimes they advertise red sales but the items I recognize from earlier in the month and at the same full price, I find this deceptive. But I do realize ideeli needs to make $, just dont advertise it as a red or closeout price when it is not.

What a load of cr*p, I have only used groupon to buy 3 purchases. One was a Sage course that I half completed and on day I logged in to finish the rest of the course only to find out that I had to start it all again hours of work lost! The 2nd ourchase was a steam mop and that had to be returned due to it being faulty. 3rd purchase was some super soakers 3 weeks after purchasing them I get an email from groupon advising me that they have cancelled the order due to their error. So groupon have refunded what I have paid them but now I have to chase the company that is selling them for my p&p. I rang groupon and they're advising me that they have not sent such an email WTF?!?!?

Seriously I agree with the comments below, they look like really good deals because of the % of saving but realistically you are not really saving anything. They're cheaper deals if you surf the internet. If you are going to purchase anything from groupon then do your research first!

Their service's getting down recently. I'd got $15 credit from their promotion and decided buying something. At starting shipment 9.95$, I asked my friend to share the order. We placed 2 items payment: a 20" spinner and a belt. Money processed.
After 5 days, they asked for Card authorization for the First item to be shipped: the belt. Done. 27 days later, they auto-processed another amount on my CC for 2nd item ( the 20" spinner) but... shipping pending. As many discussing mails were sent to & back, they admitted of that item was no longer available, so they would make up for the inconvenience by crediting my account with $10.
Problem now is, after one month of 1st item shipped, money had been captured, included of full price payment plus $9.95 shipping, couldn't been partly released. In a dozen email I asked them to refund me $15 promoted credit into my account. They at last give me credit $15, but then cut off the 10$ convenience upwards!
I'm not in US, my CC issued bank system just release unclear fund after 33-40 days. The initial placed order amount $119.93 had just been back to my bank account 3 days ago (after 37days). Until today I've received a belt (of my friend) at 19.94$, but my bank account still was minus $119.93. Yesterday, Ideeli sent me void receipt of $87.99. And I have to ask and insist them to return me $15 from bank credit to website credit. It's so humor, isn't it? I have the feeling like being stolen & cheated

I've been using groupon for almost one year. My experience was ok, even if you always have to double check yourself what are you getting into in terms of purchases.
I've been banned from their website only because my bank stopped a payment for a service never received (since the ultimate company wanted to charge me extra on top of the price already paid and we did not found an agreement).

This is their costumer service.

Beware,
Thank god there are better companies for deals.

I used to love their merchandise. Unfortunately they are a terrible company, that forcibly closed my account over a mere $10 courtesy when they lost multiple items in the mail. They treated me horribly and when I mentioned the Better Business Bureau, they forcibly closed my account.

After complaining, Ideeli refused to allow me to return items that were in the mail at the time of the complaint.

It was a measly $50 return, and after buying all of my bridesmaid dresses through the company, they tossed years of loyalty to the curb.

They claimed that the BBB sided with them, but rather they informed me that "they "are not an enforcement agency and we cannot compel a business to settle your complaint"

In other words, they choose to act as a neglectful, horrible company that doesn't care about its customers. Run as far as you can from them!

Hello Amy S,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on SiteJabber. We're sorry you've had a poor experience with our site. According to our records, your account was closed due to a violation of our Terms & Conditions (http://www.ideeli.com/pages/terms_and_conditions). Over the course of your time with us, you have requested multiple courtesy shipping vouchers, all of which were detailed in your account. After a review by our customer service team, it was noted that no further courtesy vouchers would be issued.

On May 20th, you chatted with a customer service representative about two packages that you had not received, and wanted an update on the situation. According to UPS.com and USPS.com, delivery was first attempted on April 23rd. You reached out to us on May 10th about these particular packages and to do a thorough investigation we need 8 business days to communicate with UPS and the Post Office. When you reached out to us again on the 20th, we immediately refunded you in full for the orders that were lost in transit (orders 60159798, 60594914 and 61000230), even though our investigation was not yet completed. You also requested a courtesy voucher for the inconvenience. As we are not obligated to issue credit in addition to making recompense for your lost items, and due to the note in your account, we did not issue you the additional $10 voucher on top of your Lost Package refunds. At that point, the agent you were chatting with handed the conversation over to her supervisor, and when we did not give you a voucher, and we could not reship your lost items (as they were lost and, therefore, not in our inventory) you informed us you would be going to the Better Business Bureau to complain. This is grounds for immediate cancellation of an account with us. From our Terms and Conditions: “ideeli may, in its sole discretion, terminate or suspend any Member's Membership in and/or access to all or part of the ideeli Service and the Site for breach of these Terms and Conditions, or taking actions that are inconsistent with their intent. Ideeli shall be the sole determiner in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, or breach of these Terms and Conditions or intent of these Terms and Conditions. Any decision ideeli makes relating to termination or suspension of any Member's account shall be final and binding. (Section 2.5)“

In regards to your return, we cannot not accept it at this time, because the requested was made a day after your account was closed. Also from our Terms and Conditions, “Termination of your Membership will result in termination of all rights of access and use granted to Members. (section 2.2)” When we refused to issue you the return, you made this the focus of your follow-up complaint with the BBB. In a third incident with the BBB, you had stated that had we just informed you that we wouldn't be giving you the voucher, you would have dropped the issue. However, we have seven recorded incidents in your original chat on May 20th where you asked for a voucher, and our representatives replied in no uncertain terms that we would not be issuing you a voucher.

We’re truly sorry that we weren't able to come to a better conclusion in regards to your account. While we tried working with you consistently, you found fault with a great deal of our policies and we thought it might be in the best interest of both parties involved if we closed your account; we were not adequately meeting the needs of you, as the customer, and believed that we would not be able to assist you further in the future.

Best,
Jason Faria
