I was trying to extend my original booking by 2 days and instead of an easy change on the web portal, I had to make another booking and then cancel the previous one. Not a convenient and easy process...
The pick up procedure went great unfortunately the remote opening for the 5th door wasn't working but apart from that it was seemless

No clear direction on the process upon arrival. The car received was cleaned but it was not very clean at all. Pickup was 0.2 mile walk from the office. Options were very vague. I asked for a receipt but could not get it onsite, said it wold be emailed which i had to request. Im still not sure of the total charges. I have rented many times but still cant log in to my account.

Easy to hire, cheap to hire, cheap to insure. I will definitely come back in future. Most companies have expensive insurance but this was cheap. There is also a shuttle bus
The night manager was a nasty piece of work. They nearly left us stranded without a car over a simple resolvable misunderstanding.
Greenmotion seems to have good ratings in Helsinki, where we are going, so giving you another chance.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
