Although I choose Green Motion for the lowest price, the service was great when I encountered a problem. I was charged twice by Regus, a parking management company, for unknowingly exceeding by 20 mins a parking duration limit. In addition, that same company on line payment process was not working properly, and the parking charges started to increase. Green Motion responded the same day to my email informing them of the issues and asking for help. They promptly addressed the issues with the parking management company and solved them. I was half expecting a long struggle and I am relieved it was not so.

1.) the car was dirty 2.) although they take deposit for the road charges, in case returning car with less fuel, penalties etc.
About 3 weeks later they send a email and ask for traffic penalty comes from the authorities which is very normal BUT they ask service charges more than the penalty! Although we exchange many emails they always delete what we sent them in details and kind a parrot they always ask money for service charges ( I even dont know what is it as they have deposit and they can deduct it from the deposit this penalty)
Pick-up and drop off was very easy. The car I was given was clean and new. It was a great experience. Thanks.

Green motion has charged 60 € handling charge for a traffic violation.
The violation was a missing parking ticket, for which the authority will probably charge 10 or 20 € only.
The 60 € have been already taken from my credit card account. At the same time I received a form from Green motion to be signed and returned fot this case.
Never again...

Staff was very friendly, connection to the airport ( Gatwick) fast, car was ok, only the navigation system made a few times some problems (`mentioning roundabouts where there were no one, sometimes a little bit too late.)

Un bon accueil mais cela s'arrête là. Le loueur de voiture vous facture une assurance contre votre gré alors que vous dites bien au conseiller que vous ne souhaitez aucune complémentaire, Il vous presse à signer plusieurs pages de contrat car il y a du monde et confirme qu il n a rajouté aucune assurance mais c est faux.Greemotion fait un état des lieux de la voiture neutre alors que très grosse rayure constatée mais le conseiller ne veut pas le refaire et dit de prendre la photo. Et au retour mauvaise surprise je suis débité de cette assurance et on me répond que je k ai demandé. C est faux. Une escroquerie!

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
