I would use Green Motion again. They had the best rates for full coverage rentals and piece of mind. They had the most green vehicle options. I didn't use an electric vehicle this time but would definitely do it next time. The car was great and service was great. Was a bit of a wait when picking up but it happens but the Staff were friendly. The only downside is they are offsite, but that's likely how they do the better rates.

Nice price
I had to order to leases in two different airports, and registered myself for the first time at the initial booking. This was a bit much for the booking system, which had no memory of my registration so I couldn't logon with my ID and PW. Anyway it worked, and the price seems attractive - we'll se what it ends up being.

I have used Greenmotion a number of times when travelling into Rome Fiumicino and have always had excellent service and a great car, which far outweighs the minor inconvenience of having to travel off-site to collect and return the vehicle.

I was renting a car for 1.5 days, but had to pay the full car cleaning fee of 20 euros, but I returned essentially a clean car back. I really think that for short term rents when clean cars are returned a discount to the standard cleaning fee of 20 euros should be applied, otherwise it is just an unfair money making. It might look good from the business perspective when you charge money for the job you will not need to do, but from the customer's perspective it looks ugly. I asked for a discount for the cleaning fee at the desk, but was refused it. However, when I rented a car from you in August in Kaunas airport, I had to pay only 15 euros instead of 20 euros, because the car was not cleaned properly, which made sense.

Vehicle Cleaning
The vehicle should be returned clean. Cleaning service fee is not included in the rate. The cleaning service fee is 15 EUR payable locally during pick up and 25 EUR if the car is returned dirty, payable locally during drop off. In cases where the vehicle has been returned dirty without prior cleaning service purchase, charges of 20 EUR may apply.
If the vehicle is exceptionally dirty upon return or if there is damage to the seats, seat upholstery or the carpets, an additional charge of up to 150 EUR will apply for deep cleaning. This charge will be dependent upon the actual state of the vehicle when returned.

Do not trust the underhand, money-grabbing methods of Green Motion. As per normal for car rental companies, I was offered the extra insurance what they called 'a cost reduction package' I explicitly stated that I did not require this. I had already pre-paid £254.62. I certainly was not going to pay an extra £224.50 for insurance that I did not require. Immediately after stating that I definitely did not want to pay the extra money, the salesclerk said that he just needed to swipe my card to take a deposit which is normal course of action, so I did not hesitate to sign. Upon returning the vehicle I waited for the deposit to be returned but 3 weeks later it had not been returned so I contacted customer services who told me that I would not be getting my money returned as this was a fee for extra insurance. The extra insurance that I declined! They fraudulently took this money and refused to return it. They are a despicable and unethical company, avoid at all costs unless you want to be ripped off.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
