This was the second time I've rented from green motion in Edinburgh and the condition of the car and the speed of service were both much better at the airport than at the branch in Edinburgh city centre

I am extremely disappointed with this experience (BOOKING REF: WOS-**************). I paid for a confirmed reservation, but only at the last minute was I told that the car would not be provided. No one warned me in advance, no proper solution was offered, and I was left with no choice but to deal with the situation on the spot.
What makes this even worse is that I was then pushed to make a new reservation without insurance, which felt unfair and misleading. It gave the impression that I was being asked to pay again under worse conditions after already paying once. This is not acceptable customer service, and it has caused me serious inconvenience, stress, and loss of time.
I am requesting a full refund immediately and a proper explanation for why my reservation was not honored. I expect this matter to be escalated to a supervisor and resolved without further delay.

I have found all the staff at green motion Heathrow to be very pleasant and non pushy! When we hire we do go for premium + so it takes away all the worry of stone chips or cracked glass, so when we return it's just drop and go!

People need to realise it is always better to book direct. I am a frequent user as i live in ireland and work in norfolf. Renting from green motion is cheaper than buying a car in the uk. If you are sure about the car parking where you are going it is cheaper to bear the excess in case of damage, costs £over 1500 but is returned to your credit card the day after you leave the car back. The staff are really decent.

Upon my arrival, my car was already warm and ready to go. I opted for full insurance and everything was executed seamlessly. Booking my second trip with them while I am writing this review.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at [email protected]. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
