Very interesting trip back to the 18th century.
Educational and really interesting tour. History comes alive with Bruce comfortably taking us back to and through the 18th century. Bruce, the tour guide has so much interesting information to impart and he does it so effortlessly. It feels like you are learning from a friend. Initially, I felt that 3 hours might be a bit long but it was over, all too soon.
The description of the tour should be updated - you will see a lot more than promised and be pleased that you did.
Wanted to see China Lights and looked for reduced priced tickets. Found a Groupon site that had a box showing $15.50 tickets for 10.50 with the $15.50 crossed out. Clicked on it and bought 4 tickets expecting to receive a discount at checkout to $10.50 a ticket but upon seeing my charge it was $15.75 a ticket,. 25 above the original $15.50 they had crossed out. I was livid, especially since it looked like a Groupon site that I have always had good experience with. Will not use either site anymore.
I tried to make my first purchase and continuously failed because their system had a glitch and kept charging me $0 which froze my debit card. I tried to even register and use a different email and still couldn't complete my purchase. After I contacted them via email (since they do not have a phone number listed on their website). Mandy accused me of fraud. She never bothered to ask me what happened or provide any customer service. Thanks for putting my account on Fraud and freezing my debit card with your fake charges.
Some friends and I recently purchased tickets to Queen of The Ride, a drag queen bus ride event in NYC. When purchasing the tickets, you are given the option of purchasing 3 types of tickets, Front Row Ride for $49, Regular Ride for $35, and Special Regular Ride for $26.
I needed to purchase 5 tickets total. I went to purchase 5 Special Regular Rides and was told there were only 2 tickets left. So I bought the 2 tickets at the Special Price and 3 more at the Regular Price.
Turns out, that 2 tickets left thing is a lie. Other friends also bought 2 tickets at the Special Price. And when we got to the bus, no one checked anyone's tickets. We were allowed to sit anywhere. So if someone paid $49 for front row seating, there was no guarantee they would be sitting in the front.
When I asked Goldstar what the difference was in the tickets, they told me there was none. They said that consumers were limited to 2 Special Regular Rides because of the lower price. I pointed out that their site doesn't say that it. Instead it says in bold and red "We've only got 2 of these left!"
It is essentially a bait and switch.
I asked them if they would credit me the difference for 3 tickets and I was told they were sorry for the confusion but they were unable to refund me any money.
Should you find yourself in this situation, simply buy the two tickets, clear your cache and cookies, and go back and buy another 2 tickets at the lower price. Repeat if you need more. Do not buy the higher priced tickets under any circumstances. They will lead you to believe that tickets are going fast and if you don't make a purchase immediately with whatever tickets are left, the more expensive ones, you may not get a ticket at all.
As the other reviews mention. Its a bit and switch site. Every since I linked it with facebook to "purchase" tickets; my email has been spam EVERY DAY.
Looked online for tickets to a Circle Line Beast cruise; Goldstar popped up as a sponsored link and I clicked it. Called the Circle Line desk to ask if Goldstar's vouchers were legit; the agent said the vouchers were "exactly the same, except that the price may be different". The day of the cruise I called the Circle Line desk to make sure there were tickets, was told they were wide open all day, went directly there only to find out that somehow they were completely sold out for that day, which was the one day I could use the tickets. I asked for a refund and they said "sure!" However, when they saw that my vouchers were from Goldstar, they said "no, those are from an outside party so no refund". So much for being "exactly the same".
I contacted Goldstar, the outside party who had taken money, and they said they had to contact the box office. A few days later I got the "so sorry, no refund; you can gift them to somebody else."
I don't want to gift them; I want my $75 back. I was lied to. Make no mistake: tickets you buy through Goldstar are NOT the same. I should have known better... hopefully people reading this can learn from my stupid mistake in trusting this company.
Unfortunately I read the reviews after my bait and switch experience with gold star. I was charged fees per ticket which would have originally been $73.50 for 3 tickets now at $90.75. That would have been more than if I had bought the tickets myself at the events.
One of my friends could not attend that I asked for a refund for one ticket but was denied.
Here's my bad review and I contacted my card member services to cancel payments and write complaint.
I purchased tickets and it stated seating begins at 8pm, me and my guest arrived at 7:35p. The host looked at the receipt and stated he didn't know why it said 8pm and that they have been dealing with goldstar for a while. They were putting the food cart away so me and my guest missed dinner. I looked at the receipt in it's entirety, it stated that doors open at 6pm and will call opens. It did not state the the doors open at 6pm for dinner and the show follows after dinner. I am not blame any one, I just think they should word it better.
One of the best "finds" here in NYC. I found this site by accident and felt the prices and comps were too good to be true. So I tried one comp ticket and sure enough - it was free but there was a $9 service fee... no problem. Great show! Hmmm... let's try it again. So I tried it again and ordered a comp ticket to The Imbible... it was free with a $12.75 service fee. OK - went and there were 3 drinks included. Seriously in NYC - where can you get three drinks for $12.75?! Plus the show was awesome. Now I am going to be buying some tickets and across the board - this site is better than TKTS or Groupon. No ifs ands or buts... I LOVE THIS SITE. Thank you!
Used this site to purchase theme park tickets advertised at a great value. But when charged all kinds of added fees were introduced after the fact. This Bait and switch tactic used by this website is appalling and we will never use this useless site again. Could have purchased the tickets directly from the vendor for the same price. This site is a joke.
HI Daniel- Ticket prices are listed in checkout with fees listed separately for transparency. You are shown a total before you complete your purchase so you will know exactly how much you are paying for the tickets-- and you can choose not to purchase at that point if you change your mind. We try to be very clear about the pricing throughout checkout. Thanks.
My family and I use Goldstar pretty often (theater tickets, mostly). We get good prices, and we never had any trouble. (I also never saw any hidden fees; the full price displays before you purchase.)
Goldstar is a joke of a company. They bait and switch your tickets; then, they refuse to refund the tickets. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen. The prices aren't even competitive. You can get most of these tickets from Groupon and Groupon stands behind their products. I would personally trust Craigslist over these crooks. My personal goal now is to make sure nobody else gets screwed over like I did. I am now out a few hundred dollars now. Do not under ANY circumstance buy anything from this scam site. Every time I bought something from them, they have scammed me one way or another. The least the crooks here could do is refund me. Pathetic.
Hi Amber-
I understand that you are upset about the purchases you made and I am sorry about that. I know that we've been communicating with you about your purchases since last night. In many cases, we do have options, but the nature of etickets and their immediate delivery limits those options. We provide a number of advisories about these tickets to make sure that the information is very clear and available prior to completing your purchase.
In this case, the quantity available was limited to 1 with the note that stated "This offer is only available in a quantity of 1" along with the additional Advisories and Restrictions: For this event, in order to be seated together, you must buy all of your party’s tickets in a single transaction. Separate orders can’t be grouped together, purchases can’t be cancelled, and tickets can’t be added to a purchase once it has been completed.
In the best interest of all of those involved, I've canceled your tickets and issued full refunds back to your credit card.
All the best,
Amy
Ordered comedy show tickets for a 9:30 show and got 7:30 tickets. They would not change the time or refund my money. Their mistake but they didnt care. Very frustrated. Do not use them for anything.
Like the one star says Doesn't get any worse than this. Bought tickets on Groupon- Called venue and was assured seating was available where one could eat. Arrived- not the case. Venue apologized for mistake, ok no big deal. Emailed Goldstar right away- as in half an hour after we had left, and just asked for the ticket price to be refunded. Was told that plenty of seating in sight lines was available- which may be, however when we were there, it was reserved. As i asked the person seating us- reserved. But not for me. Right? And yes. Reserved. But not for me.
Anyways-This is actually the first review I have ever made.
I purchased tickets from Groupon for a May 12th Mothers Day Concert at Barclays Center which listed the sections and rows. However, when I looked in my groupons, it said the tickets were "will call" by Goldstar. Now that's some bait and switch bullcrap. After reading the reviews here, it looks like I'll never be receiving any tickets. If that happens, all of you unhappy people are more than welcome to join me in a class action law suit. If everything works out fine, I'll let you know that too.
They advertised rear orchestra seats for the Met Opera Romeo and Juliette and ehen we got there the seats where in a screening room with a screen and loud people. The stars meant to headlining didn't even headline that night. When I emailed customer service they said there was nothing that they could do. Awful service
While Goldstar has a no refund policy, it is clearly stated refunds can be made if something is out of the users control. Well that happened. I contacted Goldstar and no consideration for this was made. Requested to speak with a manager, and my request ignored. First and last time using. $50.00 lost.
We bought tickets to See Prodigy Briana Pinchuck, a violinist and singer. The tickets on GoldStar were 1/2 Price from $20.00 each to $10.00 Sounds Good? Well if you don't Click THE DECEPTIVE "READ MORE BUTTON" You don't see this:; "Additional fees apply. For events with a discounted price, no coupon or promo code is necessary."
STILL DOES NOT SOUND TOO BAD. When you buy tickets on the next click... way at the bottom (hard to see) it says "For each ticket purchased, the venue requires a $15 minimum purchase. The minimum purchase requirement may be applied to cocktails, snacks or merchandise. This only applies to customers age 18 or older."
SO NOW YOUR DISCOUNTED TICKETS COST MORE THAN BEFORE THE DISCOUNT... FOR TWO PEOPLE $30.00 MORE! Oh... pardon me, they will sell you cheap drinks at the bar for this great value!
BULL $#*! IS BULL $#*!! Either tell the people up front the real price and don't play games with hidden extras or go out of business quietly.
I WOULD NEVER USE GOLDSTAR OR RECOMMEND " BOCA BLACK BOX" the theater in Boca Raton, Florida.
I was a huge fan of Goldstar untill I had to purchase really important tickets from them. My daughter's Hot Chocolate Nutcracker performance used GS. I purchased the tickets as soon as they were available. It had been two months and I still have not received my tickets. The site says that the tickets will be availability 24 hours before the event. The crazy part is that everyone we know already received their tickets in the same section through Goldstar. I emailed customer service about it and received and extremely curt response basically restating that I will get them in 24 hours. Very unprofessional. I am big on concerts and seat location. I rather pay the extra and get the tickets directly from the venue. Very happy customer turned into a very disappointed customer.
Good service and for the most part good prices BUT on occasion fees can be vey high and can negate value. Fees have occasionally made it cheaper to buy from venue directly. Otherwise my experience has been fine but one must be careful.
Answer: Oh gosh yes... I don't blame you but Golstar is the real deal... I have never had a problem with them... and gosh have I saved money... jump in lol the water is fine... hope this helps.
Answer: Please email [email protected] for help with this. Your first and last name should be on the will call list. They can fix it for you.
With Goldstar you can experience more and spend less on tickets to theater, concerts, nightlife, comedy, sports and other events in your city. Plus with reviews from fans who have already gone, you can go out with confidence.

Wow! Thanks Kaen for the great feedback and review. I'm so happy to hear that you've been able to score such great deals on tickets through Goldstar. I hope we keep you busy all summer! Enjoy.
