I have been using Goldstar since 2014 and have attended 57 events over the years. I've never had an issue with the company or the tickets. Sometimes the tickets are delivered digitally and sometimes they are at the event's will call. I feel like Goldstar does a good job of giving notifications on the ticket delivery method and I've never encountered an issue with admission at any venue. I've also never had an issue with obstructed views with a venue. I will continue to purchase tickets from Goldstar!
Terrible experience. Bought tickets to a show for my wife and son for Christmas. Then, on the day of the show, I received an email from Goldstar saying our tickets had been canceled. I called the venue to be sure the show was still going on and they said yes, and that our tickets should still be good. I emailed Goldstar and received another generic message stating the venue told them to cancel the tickets. I asked why, and they responded with the same generic message with no further info. I asked one more time and received the snarky response of, "if I knew more, I would have told you more." In all of their previous emails, that was never mentioned - it just said the venue told them to cancel with zero added details (not even to say they don't know why). I don't think it's odd for me to want to know why tickets that I had purchased well in advance were canceled only a few hours before the show (if the show itself had been canceled, I would understand, but it went on as planned). I ended up calling the venue again and they said that they absolutely did not tell anyone to cancel our tickets. So, who knows what the deal is, but we definitely missed the show we were dying to see and still have no idea why... We shall see if a refund is actually processed.
UPDATE: 2 1/2 weeks later and no sign of a refund and no response to two messages that have been sent through their contact center.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Sent a third message and finally got a response. They did acknowledge that no refund had been given, but they would put it through now. I did receive the refund ultimately, so no monetary loss in the deal. Just a wife and son who got their hopes up and had them dashed when we were practically out the door for, as it turns out, absolutely no reason at all. I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on them again for tickets to anything. It's a crapshoot as to whether the tickets will work and, as was the case with us, you may not find out that they won't until the same day as the show.
This is the second time we have purchased theater tickets from GoldStar and there won't be a third. What may seem like a discounted price is because you get side seating/obstructive view seats. Since you can see or select the seats before you purchase, you're stuck with what they give you. In these days of COVID, we found everyone in our row had purchased from GoldStar and were upset that we were shoulder to shoulder. Fortunately the theater manager found other seats. Won't trust GoldStar again.
Folks beware. Purchased 2 tickets online with CC to Hairspray performance in San Diego for 11/16/21. When I attempted to access tickets prior to the performance, there was no record of purchase either on Goldstar or Ticketmaster. Could not contact customer service by phone and am still waiting for an E-mail response. I have already filed a dispute with my CC. We will see if I can get a refund. I have wasted so much time and effort and have yet to see any refund. Absolutely unacceptable! Caveat Emptor!
I have been requesting a refund for tickets i can not use because of vaccination requirements. I am being told to sell or give away my tickets. This is NOT RIGHT OR LEGAL. I will never use this company again. And in the process of contacting legal aid to sue. I spent hundreds of dollars for these tickets and was told by a employee their to sell them or give them away. That is unacceptable service!
Charged me for 2 tickets $148 to Knott's Scarry Farm and never sent them to me never sent them to will call either. I tried calling and no one answers the phone. I wrote 3 emails and no response. I lost my money and my kids were unable to go to the event. Fraudulent Company! I reported them to the FTC.
Hi Soren-
Knott's tickets are uploaded to your Goldstar account AND emailed to you immediately after you complete your purchase.
We respond to all emails we receive at [email protected] so if you sent an email to our helpdesk the response may have gone to your spam folder. I'd like to look into this for you, but I'll need your purchase order number or email address to look up the purchase. Please send to [email protected] so I can take a look.
Bought tickets for the family for a show and dinner. It was the pirates dinner in Buena Park on Goldstar it says to pick up tickets at will call. I got there and they said my purchase was not in the system. They asked where I got my tickets and they said they don't do business with Goldstar. The show was sold out so I could t even buy tickets there. I reported Goldstar to my credit card company since there customer service doesn't want to respond back. Do not use Goldstar they are a fraud.
Christopher, I'd like to look into this for you. If you've emailed [email protected] you will receive a response soon if you haven't already. If you haven't done that yet, I recommend that you reach out that way so we can get the details of your purchase and follow up with our contacts at Pirate's Dinner Adventure. We've been working with them for years, so it sounds like you were given bad info or the person who told you they don't work with us is uninformed.
This site is basically useless now since covid. There were no refunds after all shows were cancelled and only a site credit given. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing on there worth purchasing and now we're stuck with a $160 credit for virtual entertainment.
What a joke, terrible people to deal with, we paid a holding deposit to hold the price of the van until we had inspected it, once inspected it wasn't what we were after and asked for a refund, well hasn't that become a nightmare. All Jacob keeps doing is offering us more vans to look at but nothing about a refund. Don't pay a cent until your 100 percent satisfied NO MATTER WHAT THEY PROMISE!. The staff are so rude to deal with, I will be going to consumer affairs
Hi Fran, you have reviewed the wrong Goldstar, we sell tickets to entertainment events. www.goldstar.com We are not a van rental company.
After my friend was given 2 links to an event & I was given 1 link to same event, with none of the 3 working, I wrote to Goldstar and was sent a new link from a customer service agent who wrote the link I had been given had worked for her. I was able to view the event with the 4th link sent, and my friend was refunded the price she paid for the ticket she bought as a gift for me. I won't upgrade my rating for this company, as it shouldn't take paying twice and my friend and I both writing to the company about links that don't work to finally get a link that did work.
My friend gifted a ticket to me for a holiday show & forwarded the info to me. As there is a place on Goldstar's site while purchasing a ticket for gift, I'm going to assume she indicated that. It didn't work. She contacted them & they gave her 'new' info that was supposed to work. Again the link didn't work (went nowhere), & the url they give in case the link doesn't work, sends one to an oops page, nothing here. I didn't want may friend to spend more time trying to fix this so I bought a ticket myself. Same thing happened. They are a fraud & I'm reporting them to my credit card company & the appropriate federal agency.
I bought a ticket for an online concert. When the time came it would not let me log in. After 30 minutes of frustration I contacted their support. After much back and forth, and condescension on their part( yes, I know what the play button looks like) they told me they could not find my account (what? You took my money and you just had me change my password three times!) Then I was told to create a new account and they would send an access code but to get to the new account page you had to click new purchase! When I asked for a refund they stopped replying to my messages. Did I mention this took about four hours?
I placed an order for a voice over course that did not take place at all. I contacted the company that did the orginal post but no one answered and sometimes someone would pick up the phone but say nothing. I finally got fed up and emailed Goldstar who still hasn't responded to my complaint and all I want is a refund for services that was never rendered. Strong advice to anyone, stick with groupon because at least you know the services on their site is real and you can speak to a live person if needed.
They wouldn't give me a refund to my credit card but gave me credit for a future event
Do we know when live performances are happening again?
They may be out of biz by then
I love coming to gold star. They always give you fresh hot food never cold an stale. I love how they always give you the choice of if you want this or that. I just love coming to this place
I purchased tickets for an even, they ended up cancelling the event and refused to give me back my money. Will never use goldstar again.
HORRIBLE customer service. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I Ordered tickets for a show that was suppose to take place on March 21st. The show was cancelled due to the COVID-12 epidemic. It has been over 3 weeks now and I have not received a refund. I have sent many emails asking for a refund which they have not responded to. I purchased the tickets using PayPal so I filed a dispute for a refund through PayPal. A day after I filed the dispute they had messaged PayPal. I have been waiting for an email and my refund for over 3 weeks but in less than 24 hours of me filing a dispute they were able to send messaged to PayPal?! Instead of just refunding my money they are fighting me through PayPal on reasons why they won't issue a refund
Please do not buy tickets from this company! I purchased tickets for my mom's birthday and unfortunately they were canceled due to the coronavirus. When purchasing the ticket it specifically stated that there would be a refund if the show was cancelled. When I asked for a refund goldstar sent me an email stating that the refund was "store credit" meaning I could use the credit for another show. If that was the case then they should have specifically stated that when people are buying tickets instead they lie about providing full refunds due to cancellations in order to get your money. They have no number and all customer service is online. Please buy your tickets elsewhere.
I'm still b waiting, it's been 2 weeks for a refund on a cancelled by the venue refund. I just want the money refunded to my account. This is taking easy too long. There's no phone number to call them. I'll never go thru them again.
I purchased two tickets through Goldstar for the 2020 St. Patty's Day Booze Cruise in Chicago for their annual dyeing the river green celebration. The MAYOR of Chicago cancels the event in lieu of the Coronovirus scare, the President declares a State of Emergency but when I send an email requesting a refund (after 4x) they finally answer me informing me the event isn't cancelled?!?!?! Are you kidding me? They are not dyeing the river which is the whole purpose of this event and the restrictions put in place for precautions but they won't officially cancel this event and refund my money. RIDICULOUS RIP OFF!
I purchased tickets to Hamilton in Miami and went last night. I just found out that Goldstar charged more than the tickets were selling for at the Venue even though they advertised discounted tickets. BEWARE!
Answer: Oh gosh yes... I don't blame you but Golstar is the real deal... I have never had a problem with them... and gosh have I saved money... jump in lol the water is fine... hope this helps.
Answer: Please email [email protected] for help with this. Your first and last name should be on the will call list. They can fix it for you.
