Horrendous company
February 25, 2020

I ordered tickets to see Hamilton in Miami for my wife and I. We saw there was a closer venue to us in West Palm so we decided to go there instead. When I went to get a refund for the tickets they refused to do so. I asked for a refund within 12 hours of purchase. They were rude and unprofessional making up there refund policy in order to rip me off. I will NEVER use Goldstar again.

You can get reasonably priced tickets but if you need assistance you are screwed. They either don't get back to you at all or not in a timely manner.

I lost a lot of money because of their incompetence and would not recommend their service to anyone.

Sadly Goldstar doesn't deserve a single star and definitely nothing gold.

They lie about pre show cancellations. Site specifically says the don't believe you should loose your money if your plans change. But they lied. I emailed them hours before a show when my wife got sick and they didn't email me back until after the show started and said too bad.

I was worried because of negative reviews but I had no trouble. After purchasing on Goldstar, the email with my voucher instructions came immediately and gave instructions to enter a coupon code during checkout on the venue's website. It took me all of 10 minutes total to complete those steps and print my tickets.

Ordered tickets for King Richard's Fair the night before we were going. Waking up the next morning we did not have the tickets yet. I emailed, texted, and instant messaged. I did not receive a response "we are working on it" until 7:30 a.m. Received another email at 9:23 saying "they were still working on it". I continued contacting them from 6:30 a.m. until we left for the event at 9:45. They finally sent an email at 10:18 as we arrived at the event, saying they couldn't figure out what happened but to bring my confirmation email as well as a photo ID to one of the ticket windows and they would be able to get us in. Luckily I was prepared with these items from my own thought process. An email arrived at 11:05 when we had already been in the event for 35 minutes! Ugh, too much effort on my part to save a little bit of money.

I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews of buying tickets on this site. So far I have done it once and I had an amazing experience. I bought a ticket for "Cabaret" at Olney Theatre for about half the price the tickets were originally selling for on the site. I didn't get to choose my seats but then again what did I expect for half price. Great show and easy ticket buying experience.

The only thing is that I didn't get the tickets mailed to me, it wasn't an option. The tickets were will-call. Otherwise no problems what so ever.

I bought a ticket worth more than $ 100 on the Gold star website. I bought a ticket for a musical in New York City, but when I received a confirmation letter, it turned out that it was New York State and Musical was in another city. As soon as I saw the error, I immediately wrote to Goldstar in support and asked to return my money and cancel the booking for the ticket. I was denied. Gold Star suggested that I just sell my ticket to someone. This was very bad news for me and after that I do not recommend anyone to use this site. Because Gold Star will never enter your position and will never help you humanly.

I am simply trying to peruse theatrical events in New York City and get this annoying pop-up (Welcome to Goldstar. Tell us a little about yourself. We're going to help you find great events nearby. First, would you like to see events in the New York area?) First of all, I do not need to tell you about myself. Second of all, I can pick and choose myself, and I don't need to be guided like I'm a toddler. The truly strange thing is that I had just purchased a ticket for an event and went back to look for events for other times. I don't need to sign up, and prefer not to. What kind of adolescent nonsense is this to even think that something like that is acceptable? I will try this site again, and hopefully this ridiculous pop-up goes away, but it truly made me furious.

We went to a Goldstar event at Rooftop 93 in NYC for 4th of July - paid $16 each for entrance. They advertised "amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge fireworks". When we arrived, there were no seats - only a handful of reserved benches. Not acceptable after we both had knee surgery. We were told we could sit on the benches until the "reservees" showed up. What kind of bar does not offer seating? One that wants to cram in more people I suppose. They have happy hour every night except 4th of July. I guess because we paid an entrance fee we were entitled to $13 well drinks. Also, they advertised "lite bites" of food with our entrance. There was no food at all - not even for sale.

Forget about the view to the fireworks. The bar faces the complete opposite direction from the fireworks. Out of the three floors that were open to guests, only two little corners had a view of the Brooklyn Bridge where the fireworks were launched - maybe enough room for about a dozen people to see. With the large building in the way, I can't imagine there was any view at all. Fortunately, we immediately ditched the place and made our way to the bridge where we were able to see the fireworks.

I've learned my lesson to stay away from events that say "ALL SALES FINAL". There is a reason they do that - because they know they are not going to deliver what they say they will.

Price was listed at $40 on site and changed to $50 when checking out. I bought two tickets and was highly unsatisfied being that I had to print them out. The technology seems to be outdated. I've been scanning tickets off my phone for years. When I got to the venue and opened my tickets they informed me at that point that they must be printed. I missed 30 minutes of the show due to having to find somewhere to print them. I was very unsatisfied with gold star to say the least.

I recently received not one, but two, emails from Goldstar saying that I had a "gift" in the amount of $25 to use. I checked to find out why I had received this and rep Eryn told me that emails were sent out erroneously to people who didn't have any "credit" in their accounts and that I should check my account. I checked and it showed a "0" credit but then I thought about it and wrote back saying that we are talking about two different things: Eryn was talking about a credit or refund for money already spent with Goldstar, but I was talking about a gift. Eryn replied that she could see no mention of the word "gift" in the email (I hit reply to she could view the same email that I had received. So I cut and pasted and sent her the email again, directing her to look at the words "gift" and "gift certificate." Well, that was the last time I ever heard from Eryn. Instead, another rep started in with another ridiculous explanation. The situation got even more sublime with every "creative" word the second rep came up with: This was just a reminder that I had gift certificates to use (I did, and there are two, but they were only purchased a couple of weeks ago [I guess they think people have very short memories] and were for $100 worth of events, not $25.) I pointed that out and the response I got was that these supposedly "gifted" gift certificates were supposed to be an example only, to show me what a gift certificate looks like, in case I didn't know. It went on and on until I requested the contact information of the CEO. Radio silence. Absolutely nothing. I feel that the company and people who work for it are fundamentally dishonest and should not be allowed to send out such emails to its database. The excuses were beyond the pale, again, a reflection of the kind of company it is.

Scam
December 11, 2018

Bought a Groupon for tickets that were supposed to be fulfilled by Goldstar. I purchased them, got a confirmation and several days later received an email from them that they were cancelling my tickets because there were no 2 seats together. They said I could expect a refund in 10 days. I went on the website to look for myself and the same tickets I bought were now being sold at 3 times the price. Do not do business with Goldstar!

Bought tickets from Goldstar and due to a change of plans had to return them a couple of hours later. In spite of their site saying "Plans changed? No problem, You can cancel these tickets" they have refused to honor their commitment.

I purchased tickets advertised as $14 each, they ended up being $17 without any explanation. Then two of my guests were unable to attend and they did not let us reschedule the reservation for the next day, even though that event had tickets available for the same price and it had only been an hour since I purchased the tickets. Ripped out of $80, should have just bought them through the company instead of this third party mess.

Found out that Goldstar is legit, I bought tickets that were $20 cheaper, everything went as expected and I have no complains - hope next time will have the same good experience. From my experience: convenience fee is added to the ticket no matter where you buy the ticket from, refund might be an option only if you buy insurance from other websites.
