I signed up for gofundme.com to raise money for an important cause. Not only do they take about half of the donations, they say "You have raised x amount of money." They never tell you the real amount you receive in public! Shame on them. In addition, they do not have a telephone number you can call to talk to a customer representative if you have questions or problems. They give you the impression they are going to help you market your cause to raise money but it is all through Facebook and your own friends, which I could have done myself. You might AS WELL DO IT YOURSELF ON FACEBOOK! This is the biggest and most disappointing scam around. Don't do it! Find an alternative.
Gofundme.com is a site where you can start your own personal fundraiser. I started my own on there. It can be for anything too. Any type of personal loss or theft. Check out my gofundme page.

Very good site. They take a small percent but that is expected. I was able to get the money routed to my bank in 2 days! Great site!

I wanted to raise some money to help with some of my students expenses and I stumbled upon this site. It was so easy to use and they were so helpful. I actually raised more money than I had set out to. I would recommend this site to everyone!
