If you're looking for easy, inexpensive domains and simple hosting, GoDaddy is your friend. Their employees and quite knowledgeable and helpful. If you need advanced or high-volume hosting, probably not the place to be. But, I'm happy to have nearly 200 domains with them, mostly hosted elsewhere.

Well, well, what can one say about godaddy.com. A lot -- most of the reviewers have been right on the money. Stay away. Yes, the site is cheap for domain registration, yet, there are tons of domain registrars out there, today. Do your shopping. Bob Parsons is frankly a weirdo! I would not give this troglodyte one penny. He's a gizzillionaire and supports -- Well, let's leave that one aside. Regarding the hosting services, stay away. I have spoken with too many friends and associates whom have had difficulty with this company's hosting.
Avoid at all costs! Do not let their low prices fool you. You get what you pay for, and what you get is the poorest unorganized excuse for what they call customer service. I can't begin to explain the hoops I have to jump through to get a less than satisfactory solution to problems that constantly arise. At least they are consistant... consistently disappointing that is. I deeply regret using Godaddy.com
I like GoDaddy. I highly recommend them. They make having a website easy as pie. I had a website with them for over a year and when it came time to cancel it, there were NO hassles at all! The only problem I had was when I had another website where I was switching domains the switch too a long time. I had to leave GoDaddy because they did not have the right hosting service for the platform of my website, otherwise I would have stayed with them. When I called Customer Service the techs always spoke over my head meaning beyond my ability to understand what hey were talking about. I felt kind of frustrated for that reason. They have since switched ownership so not sure if they have enhanced their services.
Still really fed up with these guys who turn a professional service into a money grabbing exercise. Every time you try and navigate they greet you with a request to upgrade, buy, change something which as you guessed, will cost $$.
They are real sharks and their attitude is if you don't like it, don't bother. Even their management area is a nightmare always trying to stop you transferring domains away and stalling the process. Quite a horrible american company to deal with. Ugh.
Why does anyone use Godaddy? Between their Elephant killing and sexist CEO to their lame servers that work different (and worse) than any other domain reigstrar/hosting company, there is nothing that Godaddy offers that you can't get better or cheaper from more reputable, caring, compassionate companies. However, if you are a Nascar fan that prefers to use the Hooters of the internet rather than getting good products and service then perhaps you want to stay with godaddy.
Love this site, only problem is the auto renewal. They enroll you in it and you have to call to get a refund. Takes up too much of my time. If I needed it again then I would have reordered it myself.
Great services, cheap domain registration also cheap private domain registration. Easy to manage domains, edit or forward to a new ip. I Recommend Godaddy.
I have read the other reviews for Go Daddy I must say I never found it spammy in fact I have now got three domains from them and it was a doodle to setup there customer service even set one up for me as I had a bit of trouble with the pointing my domain settings and they were brilliant. Much better than other UK domain hosting companies.
Truth be told... GoDaddy is like AOL used to be. They advertise a ton, but they are basically for people who are not familiar with domain names or hosting.
Their domain name signup is extremely spammy and uses hard upsells. They tell you that you "need" a whole bunch of stuff that in fact you don't need, is free with other domain companies, and doesn't do what it says it does anyway. I used to have a ton of domains with them, but have switched all of them to a company that is the same price, doesn't constantly harass you with phone calls, and provides free privacy protection, (which GoDaddy charges for).
Second, their hosting is probably one of the worst. In fact, I once had someone tell me that you can tell a "good web developer" by asking them their opinion of GoDaddy hosting. No one who knows anything at all uses them for hosting. They are terrible, and have all kinds of weird configuration settings that are a nightmare if your site uses any kind of database whatsoever.
Then... there is their marketing practices. A year ago, I complained to them about their "soft core porn" tv commercials, explaining that women own businesses too, and that the commercials are offensive. They flat out told me that women are not their demographic, and that the owner likes these types of commercials, (he obviously like to also post videos of himself killing elephants on YouTube). They told me that if I didn't like it, I could go elsewhere. Guess what? I did GoDaddy, and I'm spreading the word!
Gets the job done, but at what price?
The UX team is MIA, the prices are far from ideal, and the commercials... tacky.
When you make a purchase from a company, you're voting with your money for the company to continue its ways. There are better options out there if you just spend an hour researching. Put your vote elsewhere, if you can.
I would say a crap a company. There support staff has no sense of technical issues.
I had more than 20 domains registered and 3 hosting accounts, I transferred all the domains to my existing onlinenic reseller account and shifted the hosting to HostGator. Every week my site went down for 2-3 hours, and when you submit a support ticket, they would reply after 12 to 24 hours saying "Your websites are working fine for us. Please let us know if you have any other problem" lol...
They are all earning the business because of putting the hot chicks banners on their homepage and attractive web layout offering different stuff with many discounts.
I would strictly say anyone going to Godaddy, STOP and buy from some better company.
Have been doing business with GoDaddy for years and have never had any problems. I always get good deals on domain renewals and have never paid full price due to the abundance of promo codes available. Their customer service is always helpful whenever I need assistance. Good deals on domain pricing. Recommend.
My experience goes back to year 2001. Very good prices, excellant domain designer. Still doing business today.
I have used them for site hosting for years and have only had nothing but positive experiences with them. If you have issues it can usually be resolved with their customer service whoa re very friendly and professional.
I have seen some negative reviews so I can't say what did or didnt happen with them, but i can say for simple site hosting this is a great company to work with.
Viewing the many negative opinions of GoDaddy.com was really a surprise to me. I have about 90 domains with them, and have never had a problem with their service. On a couple of occasions I had to call their phone support, and they took care of my issues really quick... no long on hold.
As far as the many offers they want you to go through, who cares? I just happily click no, no, no, and save a good bit of money.
As far as the web hosting, it leaves a bit to be desired. I found it too slow and cumbersome for my needs and went elsewhere. Not a complaint, it just didn't fit my need for web development. As far as the one guy who claimed they wouldn't let him cancel, I find that review suspect at best. I have bought and canceled domains and other services over the last 5 or so years and have NEVER had them charge me for anything I canceled. And, cancellation was easier that most renewable services. I simply set that service to NOT auto-renew.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate them as follows:
Domain sales - 10
Web hosting - 5
Customer Service - 9
Ease of Website use - 8
Never had a problem with them. I have a filter to send their emails to a different folder, then when I need a new service I can look in the folder for a good coupon.
They are the only hosting service I've used who called to tell me they had added a better plan for cheaper and would I like to switch to that one. Customer/Tech support has always been fast and gotten the job done.
I have more than 100 domain names with GoDaddy and never had a problem. I have never tried their hosting services so I can't comment on that.
Very good prices on domains, there are always coupons available for even better prices.
I have a couple of domains with other registrars but will transfer them to Godaddy when it's time to renew.
Go daddy have been a very good company to do buisness with, they have excellent customer service and very reasonable prices. I have seen that other people have not had such a great expirience as me so i would like to say that this is from my oppinion only, i have never had a problem with go daddy and overall i would reccomend them.
Go Daddy is more like poop daddy! They are awful for hosting and spare no cheapness in overall layout options. Not to mention their poor support and hidden fees. If your hosting through them you have to pay for each additional page you want to add. I definitely would recommend anything other than GoDaddy. It stands for Go get your money dumb Daddy cause we want it all. Oh and never give them an e-mail address, that is bad, very bad!
Answer: Do not use this company. Go daddy excessive fees, will keep adding fees claiming lack of security, and also has a policy that will ask for private information such as passport, license if you ever change your phone number even though they will talk to you on the phone.
