I used GMX for TEN YEARS, only to have them turn around and delete my accounts WITH NO WARNING!
My email was connected to my bank account, paypal, my business website EVERYTHING! GONE IN A PUFF OF SMOKE!

THIS IS AN AWFUL COMPANY.

Very disapointed

My email address has been blocked without advice.
When I try to login it says "PLEASE TRY AGAIN! You've entered an invalid email address / password combination."
When I try to recover my password it says "The email address you entered doesn't exist, please check your entry."
When I try to register the same address (*******@gmx.com) it says "This choice of email address has already been assigned" and when I try to login.
And support says that they dont have the address in database and they dont help at all.

Very bad service, better the Google anyways.

Worst company ever!

They have deleted my account of 7 years only because i havent used it for a few months!
All my old emails and data are gone!
Avoid this terrible website at all costs

I like the ‘save' option while writing an email
Prevents losing what you wrote before hitting send
Puts it safely into the draft folder
If you somehow accidentally delete it

I've used gmx.com for several years now. Look--the basic e-mail service is very good, spam is well-managed. However, they keep making changes which have made the service annoying and cumbersome. For example, now, advertising strips are inserted within the inbox message list. (I always click on them and select "Ad was inappropriate".) The prime responsibility of an e-mail service is to keep spam and advertising OUT of our inboxes! They also put up this stupid consent page before you can log in. No one reads it--just click and get at your messages. Also, a "are you sure you want to leave" panel is put up when trying to log in. Very bad: GMX also hijacks any URLs in your e-mails and inserts its own prefix, presumably to spy on your sharing of links. Not acceptable.

Absolutely horrible! They are paranoiac, as most Europeans are! They blocked me for no reasons and now I can't have my emails. Ok I am importing them from GMAIL but I received a huge amount of Junk I didn't even know I had! If I want to send mail to myself, they block the email, and now I can't even open their website on my browser. I have blue prints like texts and I clic on the login, and then I can't enter the box nor click on my mouse! They have grayed the box so I can't even enter my email address of password! I have very important mail and I have to do very important work! They messed up one week of my life for no reasons!

Blocked my account saying because of abuse. But as I only use this account for my banking email and have only emailed my bank through it, I can't see were the abuse came from, I have asked for more information but they can't even be bothered to get back to me. I hab to take a day of work to sort out my bank as it's were my Tenant pay in there rent.
If you're thinking of opening a gmx account DON'T BOTHER.
Have to give 1 star to upload the review. If I could do it with no stars I would.

I've made the mistake of creating 2 accounts on this platform... And having them linked to important other websites (bank account, etc...). After non using them for a while, they got deleted. I was ok with that (even if i don't understand GMX doing that... For instance, my hotmail account is 17 years old and i've been able to connect to it even with years of inactivity!)
But after contacting the customer service, they are unable to reactivate my adresses, and i'm not able to create again one with the same username. The adresses are both non existant/deleted AND blocked to be used again. They told me it's normal and they can't do nothing about it.
Very bad! I hope to be able to get back the other accounts i linked with these...
Never a mail with GMX again! :(

I am really sick and tired of all these afs about funeral costs. Anyone who's obsessed with funeral costs might as well be dead already. Also, most of the othher ads just pander to greed. If you insist we have to have ads, please make them mature and sensible instyead of treating gmx users like fools.

Customer service $#*!e, grab your money and sell you unsafe illegal shut. If my son broke his head off that bike I will fly over and burn your company down and all your employees can happily go on the dole as they should be in jail

I've used this email service for about a year now. I used to use YAHOO but hated their politics so I stopped wanting to give them money. I signed up for an account (made sure my password was very secure) and configured Outlook to pull/push my emails from GMX.com.

If you are not sure if your password is crackable go here and type it in. It will tell you how long a crack program would take to crack it.

I've never had a problem with it since. It just works, and it's free. If you used O365 you see no ads either!

Something very scandalous about this not quite sure never heard of the company tried to set up an account was granted an account and within minutes the account was closed for unknown reasons contacted the company They can't give any good justifiable reasons as to why they canceled my account within a minute of opening never been with them before never heard of them before. Pretty much seem like they just took my information and ran. I really wish I would have not done it. Lord knows where my information just went. I would run if I were you just too many red flags. As I said too strange I've never had an account with this company nor have I ever heard of them prior to this.

I am truly thinking of changing this email provider. So many restrictions, so-called security that stops you to do your work, a lot of advertisement in your email page, asks your password and email address all the time, and even if you give it, it doesn't work. Additionally, I grouped my conversations for the same sender, and now I can't break the thread! The only two features I like are: the feature of sending a read confirmation request and the priority feature where you can mention the urgency of the email.

Worst email ever

This email is not even worth being free. I update my email about once a month regarding my password and EVERY time they lock me out. Of course I write down ALL of my pertinent and updated information. This garbage email is worse than gmail too. Pure trash, dont bother. I have 2 emails with this email provider and I can only use one as they LOCKED me out for "security reasons" and no one ever answers when you have a problem. I can understand thinking Im a scammer but Im not, I just want to read my own email. I have TWO email coz I'm on GAMER and lots of online games let me have 2 accounts in case your wondering. I enjoy having the extra storage space too.

I used to use gmx.com for my e-mail, my account was created about 11 years ago. As I always checked my mails via outlook (first pop, later imap) and did not login via webmail any longer, it suddenly was closed down due to inactivity. Support would not help, I could not create the same address as it was blocked! I had created the format like *******@gmx.com. As I did not want an alias like "supergirl123" but my NAME I tried to create a new account using my first name and gmx.com. It worked - but I was not able to login, not even ONCE! It said "due to irregular activity in your account it has been blocked, pls contact cust. Support". Customer support's answer was: "Our security department has attended to your problem not being able to log in and it was determined that the account in question will remain blocked!" They are such idiots! I did nothing wrong, it is just a normal name! No violance or anything abusive, just the opposite. Sorry, I am absolutely mad at these idiots! But: they lost a customer!

Blessing In Disguise

Having tried several times to create a new GMX email account, and not getting anywhere as far as help from customer support, I give up. When entering my birthdate in the sign-up screen, in the proper format, I get an error message "minimum age must be 16 yrs old". I'm a grandmother, for pete's sake! After reading of all the issues with them, maybe it's a good thing I can't sign up. I would hate to be blocked from retrieving my email for no reason. I think I'll look elsewhere.

GMX has blocked my account for no reason and it says I cannot use password recovery therefore lost all my previous email and GMX has terminated my email box unbelievable service

This email service is not at all secure and has major issues with customer service, security and account deletion without cause. Although most seem to be people using it for spamming. Their webmail is not very well designed and is slow. They do give you 10 alias accounts for free.

The lack of PGP or and encryption tools makes it a horrible choice for most. For a simple basic user then it might be alright, but their spam filters are terrible. I loved it being 3 letter domain name but protonmail uses pm.me addresses so it's even shorter. They sell your information and use trackers constantly is also an issue for me.

Overall they could make just a few enhancements and have a decent service but as is I can't really use it except for backup accounts.
