The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and transaction processes. While some customers report successful transactions and reliability after multiple purchases, a recurring theme is frustration over order cancellations, unresponsive customer support, and issues with gift card activation. Many reviews highlight unexpected fees and difficulties in redeeming cards, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. Despite a loyal customer base, these negative experiences overshadow positive sentiments, indicating a critical need for improved communication and operational transparency to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

This gift card was given to me in the amount of $100. Over the course of several weeks, I made several purchases from a craft store of flowers for my niece's wedding. My niece changed her design idea a couple of different times so I had to return items/ repurchase/ return all. During the original purchase, I had to use my own credit card. The store allowed refund on only one card. Believing the bulk of the expense to be on this gift card, I had the returns refunded to it. The giftcards.com company blocked the use of the card because of the amount refunded discrepancy with original purchase amount. I found this out by being publicly embarrassed - twice. Twice because, I submitted all receipts to the *******@bhnetwork, waited a couple of weeks, then tried to use it again only to be publicly embarrassed AGAIN. It has now been nearly 3 MONTHS and I still do not have access to MY money.
Had an email typo to reciever of a $500 SW Airline gift card caught it hour later called... end result card had not been delivered BUT no cancellation, no refund and sorry cannot edit email address... call your bank. Bank said the force pay it had to dispute and 45 day process... money in limbo... these guys are zero help use Amazon.
I purchased cards for my company, activated them as needed for events. After spending $2k on cards and giving out $1200 worth... they expired. No nothing, no cost you $5 to extend a year... nothing. Worthless crap, and should be illegal. I'm going to hold the cards until they change or somebody sues their pants off.
I purchased a 25$ gift card for my wife, when she went to activate it she was told it expired and a new card would be sent out. I waited the 6 weeks for a new card when it never arrived i phoned again. This time i got a case number was told they didn't get the postal code correct. I then waited again more than 6 weeks for a new card. I phoned customer service again was given a new case code and was told they were sending a new card. I waited again for a new card. When the new card had still never arrived i called this time i was told the card had been used for 20.$ to purchase something minus the 4.95 activation fee and the 4.95 monthly service fee there was nothing on the card that i never even used once
So sorry I did not check customer reviews before I frustrated myself trying to order actual gift cards. TG that neither my credit card nor bank debit card would honor the orders. Thought I must be making errors in entering info. But maybe not. Guess I will just have to hoof it to the gift card rack at the supermarket and buy direct. PS, I never check a box to leave a credit card number with a shop on line service. This site is informative & will bookmark it. Thanks.
They steal your money. You pay hard currency for the gift card and if it is not used in a brief window, they expire the card... unbelievable, but true. Stick with AMEX or other reputable company.
Ridiculous time frame for a gift card. I should have sent an ecard that would have arrived immediately.
Be careful with e-gift cards. For instance, i had two with $41 and $19 remaining for P. F. Chang's and was told both e-cards were used up. I also had a $200 one for Olive Garden and they couldn't find any trace (both at the restaurant and when I called).
Note: i will not buy anymore e-gift cards. I am not sure which site I got these from but had to put in something
I tried 5 times to order a Virtual Visa card. Each time the transaction was cancelled, even using different cards. The reason was something was different than the statement. I took the information RIGHT off the statement. Very frustrating. I even called customer service and they wouldn't give any information why they were cancelled. Very frustrating.
Cards were provided at a significant (but realizable) discount & shipped quickly enough; site has since partnered with SaveYa & moved its inventory of discounted cards to its partner.
SCAM COMPANY!
I ORDERED SEVERAL OF THESE CARDS WHILE AGO AND NEVER(!) ACTIVATED THEM. EXPIRATION DATE IS 08.22 BUT THEY ALREADY CHARGE SERVICE FEE FROM DATE THEY WERE PURCHASED SO TODAY(ACTIVATION DAY!)MY BALANCE IS $0. SO LOOKS LIKE I PAY FEW HUNDREDS DOLLARS FOR PIECE OF USE LEES PLASTIC.
NEVER BUY THEM!
Agree with all other negative comments! How can a company like this stay in business! Terrible wen site architecture! Difficulty getting the order accepted and long delay on delivery!
In fairness, this review only speaks to an attempt to purchase a virtual VISA. Do not know about anything else.
Just do not bother. Period. After two days of attempting - just ATTEMPTING - to place an order, I gave up. Both times, we filled out all of the information accurately, submitted a valid CC number, and both times the order was cancelled. Why? No one knows. It was just "cancelled". No one can give any reason, it just was.
Don't waste your time fooling with this place. Go to your local store, purchase a prepaid card from a kiosk, go to the register and pay your money. You'll be much more pleased than going this direction.
This card doesn't work at most places. Denied at Macy's and Walmart and pet store. Only Boscov accepted one. Not cool.
Update: Customer service got back to me right away so changed 1 star to 3 stars. If you buy something and cost is more than the card value the cashier must input the card for the amount on the card. So you got $25 on the card and you try to buy something for $172, the cashier has to know the value on the card and enter $25 for the card and you pay rest in other way. Some places like Boscov don't have a problem but for stores who do the cashier/manager has to enter it this way for it to work. Still its a little bit of a PITA.
I accidentally put gift cards in drawer and forgot about them. When I went to activate it, it didn't work because it had passed expiration date. The expiration date was one year. When I called they said there was nothing they could do. I've never had a gift card expire in a year time. Use another provider next time.
I ordered a virtual gift card for Mother's Day on 8 May. After hitting submit, my credit card was immediately charged but the virtual card was not delivered to my recipient's email. I thought that was a little odd because most virtual cards are delivered immediately, but decided to give it 24 hours before taking further action. The next evening I contacted GiftCards.com via telephone and got a call center. The guy on the line that did not speak very good English explained that the card would be delivered within the next hour because my information was being verified by a third party. I asked to explain what information needed verification and if I could speak with the third party to find out what was taking so long to deliver the virtual card. After many frustrating minutes of back and forth, I asked to speak to a supervisor but he wouldn't provide the supervisor's name that I was going to speak with. Finally after being placed on hold for approximately 20 minutes, another individual that barely spoke English explained he was the supervisor and verified that a third party was reviewing the information, but couldn't explain what they needed to verify. He promised the card would be delivered within the next hour or he would submit a "request" to have the $4.95 service fee for the purchase refunded. On 10 May, I again contacted GiftCards.com and reached another person that could barely speak English who again explained my information is being verified by a third party before the card that I paid for two days ago could be delivered. He said that I have two options, continue to wait and said that he thought the card would be delivered by the end of the day or to cancel my order. Again, I asked to speak with a supervisor but was placed on hold so long that I finally gave up. As of now, my virtual Visa card has still not been delivered, the refund of the service charge was never credited, and I still wait. I am afraid to cancel the order because of the customer experience experienced so far, I think that when I do, the charge will never be returned and I would be out the amount I have spent.
Sad to share a terrible experience. I ordered a large gift card for a friend on there wedding for a future getaway. It never showed up. There were a number of "I'm sorry's," but no action. I missed the wedding despite ordering it 3 weeks early and picking the expedited shipping. I was the best man in the wedding and was hoping to offer a very unique gift package. Further, I went to Efrain and he told me that he would have the order resent on the quickest shipping method, only to have him call back later and tell me there was nothing they could do. Buyer beware.
Do not buy gift cards here, it is more a curse than a gift. They are royal pain to use, decline transactions for no good reason BUT take the money out of the gift card and then hold it hostage for TEN days. They can tell it was declined, so you did not spend the money but refuse to give the money back on the card. You can't use it in a store, only on line, you do NOT get any confirmation or receipt via email when a transaction goes through or is declined. A PAIN, never again.
This company is horrible. I would give it zero stars but that was not an option. Horrible customer service, they do nothing to resolve any issues, keep referring out the issue for more business days and will never escalate the call to someone actually helpful. Don't expect a refund either. Buy directly from the stores and save yourselves the hassle!
Don't deal with this company.
They agree that they are being unfair and unreasonable but they don't want to do anything to resolve the issue
Answer: This happened to me also. My credit card company said they would do a fraud investigation.
