Didn't do much just searched the hotel and you had the lowest cost.
I was trying to book a room through the hotel I wanted to stay, they have a misleading site that makes you think that's what you're doing. They screwed up my request so I called (that's when I found out it was them and not the hotels I I canceled my reservation, they said my refund would be up to the hotel but if I book with them I should be refunded in full. Well they said the hotel didn't agree to the refund the afternoon of my check out, that's crap because when I checked in they had never canceled my reservation, the hotel did when I checked in! Be cautious and don't use this site! I will always call first from now on, I've learned my lesson having to pay double for a room

Made a reservation with who I thought was Hilton. Was quoted a rate, then charged much much more! Will dispute with Amex. This company has tons of complaints!
Updated: After a couple phone calls, and filing a case with AMEX, getaroom did issue a partial refund. I am happy about that, but will never (purposely) use them again. I wonder if they train their agents to overcharge to see if they can get away with doing so.

This was the most luxurious booking experience i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My toes are tingling with excitement thank you for bringing me booking joy. Update: After many hours, things are successfully resolved. My original issue is listed below my update. After contacting the hotel I wanted to book, they told me what I would need to do to get a refund from GetARoom. I contacted GetARoom and after doing what the hotel manager told me to do, I was able to get a full refund. I still needed a room so I called the hotel directly and booked with them. The total bill when dealing directly with them was a little over 900.00 for a three night stay Friday -Saturday vs over 1,800.00 for a 4 night stay Friday -Tuesday with GetARoom. I am thankful for my refund, but carefully check your options to see if you get any added perks or something special if you book with GetARoom because the cost is much higher.
Originally Concern: I booked a room for a high school golf team and the tournament dates changed. Get a Room would not work with me to make any changes without charging over 500.00 in penalties. My room stay ended up being over 1800, 00 for ONE ROOM when if I booked directly with Holiday Inn it would have been less than 1200, 00 for 4 nights.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
