I called to cancel a room 4 hours after I booked it, and realized they were going to charge me 386 dollars to cancel. How absurd, when I looked in the cancellation policy it stated if cancelled after April 6,2022 there would be a fee. I wasn't then wanting to cancel but accidentally did, tried to call and have them reinstate the reservation and they refused along with refusing to give any money back for the cancellation. I talked to 5 people and could never get in touch with a manager. Not even 1 star.
This site is a scam. I didn't realize I was directed to their site, thought I was on the LAX Hilton website. After realizing my mistake I contacted the LAX Hilton and they did not make a reservation. I cancelled but their policy is I needed to cancel by 1/9/2022 for a "reservation" made on 1/11/2022. I needed to cancel two days prior to unfortunately being on their site. To be clear they have never made a reservation for me. But I have been fighting for 90 days on this. They will respond that they are sorry, they will throw an excuse that I disputed this with my bank and they can't do anything. The truth is there is no active dispute on this charge! They point to Chase and Chase points to GetARoom. They will take your money and they will provide you with nothing but excuses and deflections. It was fine but I didn't realise I was paying in dollars. I think you need to make this more obvious.

Amenities are poorly listed. To know this there was a pool I had to look in the reviews.
Thee company is a hidden contact and interferes with your booking unexpectedly, apparently they are partners of Priceline ( bad company too) give very hard time to cancel your reservation, I don't recommend them at all. Very bad customer service including customer service of Priceline. I will never use Priceline and get-room partner. I didn't receive the refund yet. Spent few day to cancel my reservation between Hilton, Priceline and get- room

Beware! Beware! They are a scam operation. They charged my credit card $750.00 AFTER I cancelled my reservation.

They charged onerous and hidden fees for their service nearly doubling the advertised price and refused cancellation which was attempted as soon as the email with the actual charges was recieved.

I was online looking at an Embassy Suites website looking to reserve a room a weekend in May. I was unknowingly redirected to a third party website www.getaroom.com. The scary thing is the page didn't change other than to go to the page to select the dates of my stay. I looked at room rates and selected a room. I was then given a tentative reservation. The website never disclosed fees and taxes and certainly never had a place to check to accept terms and conditions. I then realize they had FRAUDULENTLY charged my debit card twice for the same reservation. The taxes and fees were ridiculous. I called immediately when I saw the pending FRAUDULENT charges and asked for a full refund of BOTH CHARGES. I explained to the very rude customer service agent that I never booked two rooms for the same weekend. He explained to me that I would not receive a refund. I then said to him you STOLE my debit card information and charged me twice. The only response from him was that I was being recorded. I said good! I have since filed an official complaint with the Texas Attorney General, and the local Dallas, TX BBB and my local bank is also investigating these FRAUDULENT activities. The enormous number of negative reviews along with the amount of money they stole from others under the same circumstances is criminal. This company should not be allowed to operate online or locally. Here is the breakdown of what they owe me. Two rooms totaling 1,291.26. I will not stop until I get a FULL REFUND. Not only was money stolen from me I did not have a reservation matching any of the reservation numbers they sent me. This company MUST BE STOPPED!

Please, Please do not use this company. They disguised their site to make it look like we were booking directly to the hotel. Within five minutes we recognized our mistake and canceled the reservations. They kept $780 and would not issue a refund, for a five minute mistake! I called back to re-instate the reservations so we would not loose the money and they told me that it was not possible to do. After all of that the hotel was charging 500 per night and getaroom charged 280 dollars more than the regular room rate. These people are horrible people and do not deserve to be in business

Had to change date of our stay. They helped me cancel and re book. Refund came in very promptly. Only negative was language. Agent was not a native English speaker. Hard to understand.

I had 3 good experiences booking a room. First, I made reservations for a wedding and the date was changed so I had to cancel that and make a new reservation. Then I realized the dates were wrong and I had to correct it. The customer service representatives were great in handling these 3 situations. Very easy to do and no problems.

Update: getaroom reached out to me to resolve my issue. I only hope that, moving forward, they prioritize transparency in regards to them being a third party booking service rather than pretend to be the hotel's own direct site.
For their response to me, I'm upgrading the review, but in fairness, getaroom, be upfront about your third party status to avoid the negative reviews.

Thought I was booking a room directly with the hotel, turns out it was via getaroom, which will not refund the second night of my stay which is no longer needed. No attempt at all, just a flat out "no". Do yourself a favor and call the hotel to book directly.

When I booked we had an issue of being over charged by the hotel but get a room helped us to get refunded. They were helpful to us and for that we are thankful

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
