Don't vote for this scam company I called the number listed under Hilton and I was under the exception that this was the motel that I was looking on the Internet and the guy even made me think it to get my booking so I ended up paying more and locked in where I couldn't cancel and all my honor points will not be validated because I went through this company why the hell do I have a Hilton Honors card and I would go through cheap $#*! organization,, For reasoning for calling in the first places because I was booking to room and it was difficult on my $#*! for Hiltons honor because it was two different time

I called to update an exisiting reservation and after 30! Minutes it wasn; t handled yet. In the meantime I know all the rules by hart. 30 minutes from Belgium cost more than the room cost.

This company basically just stole $7800 USD of our money. Stay clear.
My wife booked 3 nights today for August at a SF hotel. Getaroom.com charged her $1800 USD per night. I phoned the hotel and booked at $330 USD per night. She immediately called getaroom.com and they told her she needed to cancel 2 days prior to when she made the reservation. How does this even make sense? Stay clear! They're criminals. I have been fighting with this company to get my refund back for over 90 days! Its actually been over 4 months! They have scammed me out if over $2500 fir a room i never booked i never slept in and i never accepted to pay for. They have stolen my credit card information and wrongly booked a random room. Do Not tryst this scam of a company they have a big lawsuit coming for them for sketchy business practices!
Pictures of them going around and around saying they are going to give a refund then turning around and saying nonsense about 90 days thats not even true. The bank has closed the claim and its been over 4 months.

Appalling company to deal with- Avoid at all costs, you are far better dealing with the hotel directly, or I suspect almost anyone else.
UK customer in a bit of a rush, goes to book a Travelodge in Winchester (UK). Travellodge in winchester booked online, but it transpires travellodge winchester (va) inadvertently booked in America through this company, which weirdly pops up for a uk customer. You'd think, ok, call and cancel, right and get a refund? Or, very worst case, call and get told quickly and politely that you can't get a refund?
Call up and hotel totally fine, say sure can cancel, until find out its through 'Get a Room', then say they need to hear from Get a Room. Then things go wrong.
Huge saga, multiple calls, every time given different answers and reasons for delay. Never respond to e-mails in a reasonable time frame, never get a straight answer the same way twice. Can't speak to a supervisor or manager. Even the complaint e-mail wasn't answered.
I won't bore you with the multiple different things we got told. The latest weird claim is that they are not able to contact the hotel directly at all (which is very weird as we can and surely they also have phones and internet access) They say they have to send an e-mail to some third party, who then e-mails the hotel and then they wait for an e-mail back and so finding out if you can get a refund takes 7 days.
Get a room.com won't put you through to a supervisor or manager, they will not answer e-mails in a timely manner, it takes 20 minutes or more to talk to anyone at all, and then they are very inconsistent and stalling with their tactics. Trust me, you just do not want this hassle in your life! Don't ever give them any of your money in the first place is my advice. Possibly worst customer service I've ever had. Look with great care before you book anything to check it's not through this company. Strongly recommend any customer to avoid them.

They tacked on another $67 in fees. I never confirmed the hotel booking but they charged me anyway, I immediately contacted them to say that they couldn't charge me for the booking because I never clicked on the confirm button. They argued with me and hung up on me. Then emailed me saying it was a pleasure to serve me. I emailed a response twice to no avail. I called again this morning and argued with them again. I asked for a supervisor and was told that they would call me back. Nothing yet. This business seems to be engaging in illegal practices and I plan to complain via every Avenue. Heads up folks.

I contacted and booked Getaroom by mistake. I thought I was booking Hotel Romeo.No refund. This is a deceptive practice. I am considering contacting Massachusetts Attorney General"s consumer protection section. I had forgotten to amend my review. I spoke with a nice person who allayed my fears. She offered to allow me to cancel. But I am satisfied with the help she gave me and stayed with "Getaroom."

Scam artist. Trick you into thinking you are on the hotel site. You book a room then end up with $150 fee. Slimly people.

Following my review on this site Getaroom contacted me and refunded the taxes charged this taking my cost back to close what I was quoted. Oh the power of Social Media. I am happy with this outcome. I booked a room via this company stupidly thinking I was booking the hotel directly. The quote was excellent so I decided to go ahead. Unfortunately the amount taken out of my account was double what was quoted. I rang the company to cancel and the call mysteriously dropped out four times. I was then told that the wait for customer care who could process the claim was at least 14 hours. At best this company operates sharp practices and at worst downright theft. I would give zero stars if I could.

DISTRICT COURT for the CENTRAL DISTRICT COURT OF CALIFORNIA FOR DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES.
They intercept calls to hotels, answer their phone with the word
Reservations and give you a rate far abpve the actual cost and tell you there is a no cancelation allowed.
The hotels are unhelpful and telll you to call Get a Room to get a refund. Hah.
This company is bad news.

UPDATE: Getaroom has since provided a refund. I am only updating my 1 star review because of this. However, the process was near impossible to do. The only reason I was contacted in the first place was because of these reviews. I reached out and talked to multiple of their reps before leaving this review and was told they would NOT be giving me a refund. I also had to contact the hotel myself and explain the situation and ask for the refund. After fighting with the hotel directly, I received confirmation that they would not be collecting a charge for my fake reservation. With this information, I submitted it to the rep who contacted me from this review and finally weeks later received my refund. Take matters into your own hands if you would like to be refunded from this company.
I booked a room technically through getaroom.com (was not aware of this until after booking and will not do it again). I booked 4 nights on May 19th for June 18-22 2022. They inaccurately started my booking for May 19th for 4 nights. I was only made aware of this today when the hotel let me know I was a no show. This is insane. I contacted getaroom and they could not be less helpful and were not willing to even explore the option of adjusting my dates to reflect what I booked, or refund me. I will be filing a dispute against them with my credit card company once the charge is posted to my account.
I expect a full refund or a change in my reservation to reflect the dates I actually booked. I will now need to rebook the hotel as I have flights booked, I will not be using this site to do so unless they either refund or change my dates for me.

I have made a booking for hostel in NYC via getaroom.
I had not received a booking confirmation and hence I called the booking service (customer service didnt answer). They gave me my booking reference and apparently tried to email me the booking confirmation to 3 different email adresses. I have never received a booking confirmation. The booking reference given via phone did not work on their website. Then worst-case scenario occured: my booking was not received by the hostel and they didn't have a bed for me during my trip to NYC.
Nevertheless, getaroom charged my cc fully and now I can not get onto somebody at customer service again to request a refund.
I feel absolutely scammed by their website and will take this matter further if I don't hear back from them.

Tried to back out of a reservation when I realized I wasn't on the real Hilton Hotel site. The non-cancelable message got my attention because Hampton/Hilton doesn't have those policies. Instead of exiting the web site when I pressed "back", the reservation was recorded and I got a confirmation to my email within moments. I canceled within 20 mins but the charge remained on my credit card. I made 5 calls to the customer service number on the web site. Every call sent my through a call merry go round. The final result of each call was a terminated call without ever getting to talk to a real voice. The rate I found for the same hotel at the same time was less that charged by "get a room". To claim an adjustment you have to talk to customer service within 24 hours. I never was able to get through to customer service within 24 hours and was again unsuccessful 7 days later. This company is owned by Priceline now. And affiliated with Booking.com, a couple of very big companies who are perpetrating lots to tricks to hook you in.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
