Booked a room for two nights and the Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees showed $75.00 on the web. When we received our confirmation, the fees were $122.58. They also misrepresented themselves as Hotels For Everyone. I later was informed that they use the same call center. I contacted them and I wanted a breakdown of the charges and they would not provide. Their explanation was that the tax recovery charges is a recovery of the estimated taxes that they pay to the lodging suppliers for our reservation. These charges were way more than what the hotel would have charged if we would have booked directly from them. They get you by having a low booking but make up the difference in the so called Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees and the room is nothing like the room they advertise on their SCAM website. I will not use this service again!

My wife booked a room for the Surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna Beach thinking it was direct with the Surf and Sand Hotel. When she advised me who it was with, I didn't think much until I saw the details and tried to change the reservation. They advertise on their website as follows "Getaroom was created to offer you the very best values at hotels and other types of lodging in major destinations worldwide. Getaroom was founded by the former CEO and President of Hotels.com, Dave Litman and Bob Diener, respectively.

We understand that finding the right hotel is important to you and getting a great value can mean more savings for you to enjoy your trip. Whether you plan to travel for short or long trips, getaroom will be there as a resource for you to search, find, review, and book exactly what you want, at the best value. Our mission is to offer you the best rooms at the best values" This is total BS! I would never use this site or recommend this site to ANYONE!

NEVER, NEVER USE THIS SITE! IT's a TOTAL RIPOFF!

Poor sound proofing

Staffs were friendly and helpful, despite unable to find our reservation details initially. When they finally uncovered our particulars within an hour, they followed up with a returned call. Communication was an issue as most staff speaks little to no English. As this resort is built more than 30 years ago, do not expect too much of sound proofing. We could hear everything from our Neighbours' conversation to pouring a glass of water. As for the spacious rooms, they are clean with fresh linens daily. View is breathtaking.

Great facility!

Couldn't be more pleased with this stay! Super clean, newly remodeled with classy furnishings, and a new restaurant to boot. If I had any complaints, it would be that the complimentary breakfast ends at 9am, a tad early for late evening traveler arrivals. Don't question about it if you're late and miss it - they get a little testy!

In and out in 2 minutes! Not a large selection as it was a busy weekend, but still quite simple. Only big thing to address is that there wasn't clarity on how many beds in the room, but that seemed to be the hotel's modus operandi.

WORST booking company EVER! DO NOT USE GETAROOM.COM ever! They add a high service fee without telling you & make your reservation non-refundable! Customer service extremely hard to deal with, and no resolution! Hope that the Better Business Bureau or the Attorney General can shut them down.

I noticed after awhile that I had a reservation for 3 nights with them however I have never heard of getaroom.com and I did not receive a confirmation Email from them. They charged me the total amount of 3 nights stay for the hotel which I did not stay there. Even in the case of no show, the other websites charge you for the first night. After several contacts with costumer service, I just get a response that they did not have any complaint during the stay. How could I have any complaint of the hotel which I did not even see it?

Stay away!

This site is a ripoff/scam. I thought I was booking through the hotel and they charged me $300 over the hotel's price and have refused to refund the overcharge. They claim that's the price they pay the hotel for the listing and that's their charge for the privilege of allowing them to scam their customers. They claim the hotel should have never disclosed to me how much less I should have been charged! Don't ever use Getaroom!

Always leery of booking hotels on line. But gave it a shot. Paid over $200 for one night. NON-REFUNDABLE! So we were in no matter what. Recommendation for GetARoom,,,, Scope out the hotels before posting on your site. The price paid was not close to what the room was worth!

It took a lot of back and forth with customer service but I am relieved to say that after posting a review on sitejabber and making additional phone calls, I have been assured that my reservation with be refunded

Am very, very disappointed with Getaroom. I phoned them immediately when my airline cancelled the flight to Bordeaux to ask for a refund and after waiting on the phone and sending emails I have yet to hear any response to my request. I phoned the hotel today and they said they did not know of my request (even though Getaroom assured me they had been in touch) and warned me never to use this site.

Should be illegal

I was satisfied with the service, instant,
The hotel gets the booking instantly, I loved it
I WILL ALWAYS USE IT IN BOOKING MY ROOM
WE GET GOOD RATES, BUT YOU CAN DO BETTER RATES
The most part i loved most was the instant connection with the hotel, everything is so spontenious
