I was booked for a Kind bed suit at Quality Inn London on July 22 but upon arrival the hotel had a reservation of 2 bed room instead.
No one at the customer services at GetARoom was able to resolve the problem. I was charged for the suit and upon my last conversation dated July 27 I was advised by your agent to resolve the matter with the Hotel.
The hotel refused to discuss the matter and asked me to discuss with the booking agent...
I was embarrassed infront of my guest who travelled from USA.
I booked a room two months ago for a family reunion in St. Louis with Get A Room.com unfortunately we were told two weeks before the family reunion my mother-in-law had to have open heart surgery last minute the week of the family reunion we had to cancel our reservation to be at her aid. I called two weeks before the reservations were due and they said no refunds and I called the day of the reservations and they still said no refunds. The room cost me and my husband $403.59 which we did not have to throw away. I called trying to get the reservations transfer to my area and they still said no. I couldn't get my reservations transfer, no credit on the room, nor my money back and I hate that I even use this site. Word of advise don't use this site they will take you money with no remorse!
Making reservation was easy!. My follow up question on the check in time for the resort was handled promptly! The agent called the resort while I was on the phone.
I am yet to have an experience as ridiculous as this. I thought I was on Marriott website and booked rooms late Sunday night. Monday am learned trip was cancelled. Called Marriott and gave them Reservation number. Turns out it is not their reservation. Checked the email to see it was from getaroom. Phone number did not work. Cancelled online and did not notice amount of penalty. Turns out penalty was $1,900. Airlines don't do this. I will be careful to ensure I do not land on this site.
Phoned to make sure my booking was in Canadian Dollars. Was assured very speedily that it was. Great service. Thank you.

I have heard scary stories of different booking sites, but so far I have encountered really good customer service from getaroom... now I m just looking forward to enjoy my stay... thank you getaroom, saving my money on hotels...
I thought I was booking directly with the hotel but turns out I was rerouted to GetARoom. Then I needed to amend the reservation and the run around began. They said I had to get refund from the hotel. The hotel said this was a prepaid reservation and that it was GetARoom that held the money and would have to refund me for one night of the 2 night reservation. I've spoken to half a dozen of GetARoom agents and they all had a slightly different story and kept me on the phone for 15 minutes to half an hour. I began to wonder if their tactic was to be so frustrating an experience that the customer simply gives up and says goodbye to in this case to $250. Well I'm rather stubborn and when I sense I'm being played I just can't let it go. Though honestly I've never worked so hard to get $250 and never felt this aggravated dealing with any company in any business. This company certainly is far from the heady days of Hotels.com founded by the same pair. I will no longer book a hotel on any internet site (at least in the near future) and plan to call each hotel and make the reservation by phone. This way I may be assured of booking with the actual property and not this deceitful company. If I could rate this zero stars I certainly would.
Yeah, get a room.com charge me $125 to make a reservation that I could've done for free. I searched Westin Peachtree Plaza Atlanta and without checking every detail of the website, get a room Phished me, and I ended up paying another 125 for my room. Total effing rip off
Total false marketing and a fraud. So incredibly sneaky and tricky. I was charged a line item fee for "tax and services" that was 30% over the room rate. I never knew I was making this reservation with some third party and then it was sold to yet another booking company completely behind the scenes. I thought I was dealing directly with the hotel. When I called get a room, again... very shady and they do not say their name. The agent I spoke with had no information on what these fees were or any knowledge of the policies of the company. No supervisors were available as they were all "busy". I left several emails and have still not had anyone contact me.
Do not use this site to reserve a room. I reserved a room for 3 nights and never received confirmation. I had to find their number from my credit card company. The hotel won't assist since they didn't make the reservation. I called to modify my reservation and was told I could not due to a policy that was online, but never sent to me. I will be telling Marriott to stop accepting reservations from getaroom.
I accidentally tried to book a room at the Marriot on their site. The structure of the address made it seem like it was THE Marriott (as John P. 7/21/17 said, "They trick you into thinking their website is that of the hotel.") They offered FREE CANCELLATIONS within 24 hours. Immediately after I booked I realized I made a mistake and went to cancel and that's when they tried to tack on the "cancellation fee" of $278. There's a whole convoluted process of starting an account on ANOTHER website just to file a complaint. I'm working with my bank to recover the money as a fraud claim. I wish I'd have realized that I wasn't actually booking through the Marriott. (I looked to explore the profiles of who was giving this place 5 star ratings... all the "positive" reviews were very poorly written. Some profiles seemed made up (one female profile had a male user). ALL AROUND GARBAGE!
Tip for consumers: DONT! Cancellation is "free" before you book but after, you suddenly notice there is a $200+ fee. This is a scam... just book directly with your hotel.
I don't know what a Junior suite means since the room looked more / is like a Studio. We had one coffee table (very low; not convenient to use for laptop/tablets) and two chairs, one dresser with 6 pullout shelves, and one lcd tv.
I guess Sunset Royal has specific rooms only for timeshare non-members because we had first floor and a very nice view of the roof where they do outside dinner (aka Moonlight Theater) and that was blocked by some trees. Basically, our room was utilitarian - place to sleep, shower, rest.
Food was decent and unfortunately, our tourist package excluded some menu items from the Acuario restaurant (lobster related) even if we're all-inclusive. Same goes for the beach cabanas (really just a bed with cover vs. beach chairs under a palapa). Cabanas were only for members. Food was decent but hardly rotated - 1 was always italian, moonlight theater was always mexican but it varied, and acuario was mostly the same that I saw.
For the price for first timers and first in Cancun, it's fine.

I was on Trip advisor looking for a room in Port Clinton Oh. Some how gets room site jumped in and gave me a room. Once I completed sale found out it was the wrong date I immediately canceled not even a full minute went by. I was still charged for the room and getaroom would not refund. I had to put in a dispute through my credit card company. This is a scam if your smart you will not deal with them!

This is absolutely the worst site I have ever been on. I thought I was booking with the resort, but, somehow got hoodwinked. I called the resort to confirm our taxi pickup, the day before we leave, and was told our reservation is nowhere to be found. Of course, getaroom has already collected the $600.00, and I've been on the phone trying to get it fixed for over 1.5 hours.
Terrible customer service... absolutely terrible.

Best price I found on line... was not sure if it was canadian or American prices. Had to phone to confirm... hard to understand operator..

I book a room months in advance for a trip to Toronto - ON THE WRONG DATE. Realized my mistake much later. Called the 800 number and was helped by a very nice gentleman. No fuss, no muss. Highly recommend!
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
