When checking in was informed by front desk staff that I could have called their hotel directly and received a cheaper rate than I had been given. When I tried calling the site I used for the reservation I was told the price could not be changed. Better luck for me next time.
Good and easy, wish I could have entered my hotel membership somewhere like I do with frequent flyer numbers.
I don't face any hiccups & my vacation was really smooth as what have planned. I will booking my trip via getaroom in future.
Was not able to process the excursion that i plan to take when I arrive to Cancun. The site just keep cycling and wont process payment.

In making my reservation, there was no way to specify I need a non-smoking room. After receiving my reservation confirmation I called the toll-free number to request the reservation specify a non-smoking room and was told I would have to call back closer to the early February check-in date and make my request. I then called the hotel directly and they were able to confirm that I would get a non-smoking room.
This site was simple to use and had some good options for my travel dates. Booking was fast and easy.

I made a hotel reservation for December 23rd. I ended up having to cancel on 12/14 (well before the deadline of 12/21).
The refund never appeared on my credit card statement so I called again and they claim I never cancelled and now refuse to refund my money. On top of that I was charged a service fee of approx. $70 on a room that was only $150!
DO NOT USE getaroom.com - they are a rip

I had an very good experience with this reservation. I usually book directly with the hotel but took a chance. I was very nervous since I never heard of this online company before. Everything went very well though. I had to change my dates and I was required to cancel and re-book, but the refund came through right away, I was able to get the same rate. I was so nervous that I checked with the hotel to make sure I had a reservation adn they gave me the option of a higher floor. Then when I checked in they upgraded me to ocean view! I've always heard these types of bookings get the worst rooms. Not for me. The main problem is that neither this booking web site, nor even the hotels web site alerted me to how much was closed due to remodeling. And how much construction was going on. A whole wing with a pool and restaurant is closed and the food options are limited. There are also ongoing elevator problems. Not good at Christmas time.
Directions on how to reserve a room were simple and clear. I will probably use this service again as needed.

We were not able to find rooms for Whistler's Inn for our dates on any other search engine. Getaroom came through for us!

The booking system was quick and easy to navigate. The response of confirmation was quick. I would certainly use this website again.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
