This company guaranteed a full refund if cancelled by a certain date and then refused to honor that when I tried to cancel due to blizzards.
Update... Get a room gave me a full refund after reviewing my complaint and agreed to clarify their policy and make it clear, there are no refunds regardless of the date cancelled.
Worst experience ever had a reservation for 3 rooms with 2 queen beds. And when I got there they didn't have my rooms they gave me 3 rooms with king bed and sofa bed. Manager in site was so rude and disrespectful will never purchase though this or stay at there hotel again
Website was easy to use and everything seemed to run smoothly. We will be very happy if everything is in place when we checkin to the hotel.
Everything was clean well maintained and customer service was awesome. The prices were affordable also.
These are totally con artists. My wife canceled her booking within 24 hours of making the booking, one month before the reservation date. They kept everything including the $69 of taxes. When I called today they said she was a no-show and therefore there would be no refund. Plus if you look at their testimonials on their website all about their wonderful service, you can't leave a testimonial though!
I told the representative what I wanted and I thought it was all settled with my accommodations, until I called the hotel to confirm. I found out it wasn't@ all what I had requested. So I cancelled my reservations.
Tried to cancel a reservation because my business trip was cancelled. Hotel couldn't because it was booked thru them and they couldn't cancel. Has been a vicious circle with no positive result. The Service Fee they charged was almost as much as the cost of the room, which was not disclosed when I was making the reservation. The site was also deceptive as I thought I was booking thru the hotel. Asked numerous times to talk to a supervisor and got no where. The agents are obviously trained to attempt to resolve the issues at their level, without any concern for the customer. Worst experience ever.
Trip was cancelled because of blizzard and they did not provide any resolution or even comfort. I lost all my hotel money and everything. Bad experience and will book using different site next time
Ordered rooms for Chicago. Individuals we spoke with were very helpful, knowledgeable and while they asked for the sale they were not pushy.
To inspect what we expect I will call the Hotel to verify. I trust that everything will be good.
Booked two rooms. Was mislead both times about hotel room having two bedrooms. Confirmation on one of the reservations even stated it. Cancelled both and will never book with you again. Each reservation was $2,000 plus. If I could give zero stars I would.
When I showed up to the hotel where I had booked, i was told they were full. Put me in a place across the street that was nothing like what I'd booked. Instead of a king size bed there were two smaller beds. Instead of a modern hotel it was a old "boutique" place. THe bathrooms had windows that were more like glass blinds that didnt fully close. Which was directly next to the bathroom window of the next room. To make matters worse, the bathroom door couldnt be fully closed from the main room (only closed when locked from inside. So basically any noise could from any part of the next room could be heard.
Was planning a romantic getaway with my girlfriend and this definitely got the trip off to a horrible start.
Absolutely awful, no confirmation, and no one answers the 800 number on your site. TERRIBLE. I now have to dispute charges with the credit card company because the hotel is booked.
I made a hotel reservation with Getaroom and ended up having to cancel less than an hour later due to my child's illness. I called to cancel and Getaroom gave me the runaround for hours, but eventually told me they would refund me if I could get the hotel to agree to the refund. I called the hotel directly and they agreed to the refund immediately.
Reservation was made, days later recieved a call from get a room wanting additional monies for the reservation made after thier site made statements that rooms with refrigerators were available with a request, which was made at time of reservation. They made no effort to correct thier error. I had to contact hotel direct to work it out.
This company ripped my mother, a senior citizen, off. She had to travel to Baltimore after my dad was transferred from their local ER to Baltimore because he had to have hand surgery. Scrambling, she contacted these losers after she could not find a hotel nearby that wasn't booked up. After I drove her up to the hospital 2.5 hours, my father was told he did not need the surgery and was released (the local ER doctors made a mistake, i. E. are completely incompetent). My mom was suddenly out over $700 and contacted getrippedoff.com to see if she could at least get a partial refund, since she had just booked the rooms with them only a few hours previously. They gave her the run around, told her she needed a signed document from the hotel. When she asked to speak to a manager, they put her on with a woman named "Mary" who would not give her last name or phone number. My mother was then told she had to wait a week to possibly get a refund. My parents are both elderly and on a fixed income. $700 is a lot of money to them, and can't really afford to lose it all. It's not right to take advantage of people in a bad situation.
Very easy to talk to. They try to find the best rates. Great job. I would recommend you to call and see what great rates they give you.
The customer services representative are very helpful and nice, thank you for your services. I will come back to book any trip in the future.
I went in NY last year so in 2018 I looking for something diference. My other friends go to ny, so I looking for a good deal. Just Getaroom offers me a really good price and unbelived deal. So now i gonna spend time with my family and friend at ny. Its my first time booking at getaroom!
We talked to Angelo he said we could cancel the room for Monday and we tried to cancel but the gal we talked to said we could not cancel
The room was available for $122 but when I checked out it had gone up $20. Everything said my card would be charged when I get there and free cancellation fee. My card has been charged and my trip is still weeks away. I feel I've been scammed.
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.
Answer: Call 800-468-3578 but good luck. They are scammers
Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
