This has been a horrible experience with GE. I have heard so much about GE, how horrible they are and it's even more horrible to witness it firsthand. I had my appointment scheduled for Wednesday the 17th of November 2018 for cooktop and Microwave repair, I took off work for the appointment. I was home all through but suddenly saw a note on my door that I missed the appointment. What! I have been home in my office just by the door. No knocking, no pressing of the Bell and no call. Well, I called them, and they said I must reschedule. I rescheduled for Friday the 9th between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. I waited till 4:30 pm and I decided to call. I called them and to my surprise, my appointment was rescheduled to the 26th of November without me knowing. The supervisor I spoke with was telling me to call the local repair company if I can't wait till the 26th of November. These people have no respect or regard for your time. They are rude and unbelievable. I HATE GE AND ALL THEY HAVE OUT THERE. I cannot believe a company can do this to a customer at this time. It is horrible. I cancelled my appointment. Even as I speak, on their website, my appointment still reads the 9th of November. It's that crazy
We purchased a suite of GE appliances from Home Depot 3 years ago when we moved to a new home. Disaster from the start. Dishwasher had 4 repair calls and door still doesn't work correctly. Only way to use the dishwasher is to SLAM. Usually after 2-3 tries it will run. Dryer door cracked within the first month. Replaced on yet another service call. Of course it cracked again just after warranty period ended. Now the fan on fridge has died and we have waited THREE weeks and part which we had to PREPAY has STILL not shipped. No calls about delays. We have made calls weekly ourselves as being without a fridge when storing meds is a bit of an inconvenience. Oh, and the repairman let us know that the fan is an issue known to GE as a problem. A reputable company would have contacted consumers and offered a free replacement, but, for us loyal customers with a suite of GE junk get charged over $500 parts and labor and we still sit here with a broken 3 year old fridge.
A one year old GE washer developed a leak. Four service calls under warranty, where technician clearly sees water on the floor, and customer service says "the machine is operating within parameters." Will be checking with state A. G. to see if lemon law applies. Learned my lesson, never buying anything GGE branded again.
Words fail to express how disappointed I am in your response. When I remodeled my prior home, I used all GE Appliances. When my partner remodeled his prior home, he used all GE Appliances. When we remodeled our kitchen less than a year ago we used all GE Appliances. This included the microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and stove. We have always thought the utmost of GE and had no problems paying the extra for the peace of mind and beauty. We have also highly recommended GE to our family and friends for their appliance purchases. Due to handling of this situation, this will not be the case in the future.
While merely an aesthetic issue to you, we purchased these appliances and expected them to last both aesthetically and functionally for many years to come for our dream kitchen. We purchased the stove for function and aesthetics. We did nothing improper while the stove has been in our possession. Imagine our disappointment when we were told GE will not replace the incorrectly manufactured unit. Unfortunately, this portion of our dream kitchen has turned into a nightmare as these issues do affect us.
I booked an appointment and made plans to stay home on Saturday morning for my 4 hour window. Received a text saying that I was next. Checked my email an hour later and they had cancelled my visit.
I had missed Michael's call to say he was on the way. Returned the call got voicemail full mailbox. Called GE Appliance.com and they said they could reschedule. I'm not inclined to waste another Saturday. Apparently they think that their time is just that much more valuable than their clients.
While the repair technicians sent to my home seven times (yes, I said seven) have been professional, I am appalled that the latest repair tech just left my home, and we still do not have the correct board for my GE microwave. We tried replacing our beautiful GEProfiles microwave with the latest model, which, by the way, is smaller in size and therefore was not an option. GE... get it together! If you're going to offer a line of Profile microwaves that are designed to fit an insert, don't change the damn dimensions so that it doesn't fit! I have spent countless hours on hold waiting for Customer Service and missed seven days of work waiting on technicians. I've never been so disgusted and will never buy another GE appliance.
Purchased a brand new GE Washer 3 years ago. Stopped draining water - called a service tech and he indicated we need a new pump. The cost for parts labor from various vendors range from $325-380! Cost to purchase this POS 3 years ago was $850. What a waste of money.
Tried calling GE "Customer Relations" today and was on hold for 1 hour 2 minutes before I got a live person. When I complained about the wait time, rep said there was a callback option. There was none when I dialed. Then when she asked me for where I purchased it, put me on hold and she dropped the call! What a horrible company all around. The product is garbage. The people are rude. The customer service lines/wait times are terrible.
No surprise that all the truth about GE is unwinding in the press.
I just purchased a brand new GE washing machine. Only had it for two months, and the pump has already broke! Also, there customer service is horrible. I've been without a washing machine for almost two weeks, because they get in NO hurry to send parts! So I'm having to handwash everthing, and there Is very foul smelling water just sitting in the machine. I definitely would NOT recommend GE to anyone. So disappointed!
Our experience with GE Appliances has been an absolute nightmare. I purchased a GE dishwasher for my in-laws because their old GE died. I purchased the dishwasher for them to relieve them of burden while my father-in-law was in the ICU having just learned that he had stage 4 metastatic cancer. When the new dishwasher was installed, the nightmare began. The dishwasher LEAKED WATER from around the door on day one. For months my in-laws have been subjected to one repair attempt after another to finally be given a replacement offer. Since the model was already not manufactured anymore, the consumer relations associate offered a choice of 3 different dishwashers and "encouraged" me to take as much time as needed to look at the different models and call back on Monday. After speaking with my in-laws and settling on a replacement, I called to inform GE of the decision, only to be told that we needed to pay the UPGRADE COST OF $268. NEVER was I told that ANY of the models given would have ANY COSTS associated with it. I had to call my mother-in-law while she was at her husbands bedside in the hospital to inform her of the costs and give her a choice of different dishwashers. After this experience, I WILL NEVER buy another GE product, and I would suggest others do not as well. The dishwasher is crap and the customer experience has been even WORSE. The amount of time that has been invested in phone calls and meeting the repairman has been over burdensome, and the lack of integrity of the consumer relations department has been stunning. Do yourself a favor and AVOID GE.
Very upset with GE, their customer service and their warranty protection. Stove was just under 1200. 00 and is less than a year old. For some reason the back has started bubbling. This is not normal and should not occur. I have no idea if this happened in less than a year, what will it look like in two years? Anyway they consider this to be cosmetic, NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY! This is not a scratch, this is something occurring that I have no control of! They have agreed to send me the part but tell me I'm responsible for paying for installation, which can be a ridiculous cost! I just feel as if GE does not back their appliances, they did not even ask to see what had happened! One person told me, well there is no recall on it! Really, maybe they should look into it! BE CAREFUL WHEN BUYING GE APPLIANCES! THINK TWICE!
I bought a GE stove/range and dishwasher and they are failing constantly! Repairs for the stove are always the expensive circuit board that when replaced work for 2 month before the same F76 failure. The dishwasher failed in less than a year and since the repair the parts fit poorly together and are always getting clogged. T hate GE.
I bought about $10,000 of top of the line GE appliances in May 2018 and installed them 6/6/18. The dryer door leaked water on to the floor. GE refused to exchange the dryer for a new one and has been unable to provide me with the required new door as of late July. In addition, the electric induction range came with a crooked lower door.
They worked on a new dish washer 5 or 6 times over 5 months. Then told us it was out of warranty two day after fixing it the last time!
May be if Jack Welsh was still in charge things would have been different, nobody cares anymore at GE. For what its worth do not waste your hard earned money on this company. I ordered a part and after waiting for two weeks I finally received it and you guessed it right it totally wrong. Called customer service which was a nightmare to deal with. All I wanted is for them to it right but instead I got bounced around just to get a return label so that I can send the wrong part back. I was told in order for them to send me the right part I would have to pay again and wait two more weeks because they dont do exchanges and thats company policy. So from the very first time I ordered this thing i was looking at a month just to get what I need and who knows if I will ever get a refund on the wrong part they sent me.
Spare yourself a headache look somewhere else and do not deal with these horrible human beings.
Their service department is absolutely terrible. The motherboard went out after only 8 months of use. They never notified the appliance repair company that the part was backordered (I had to follow-up on that) and every step of the way I kept being told "someone will follow-up in 2-3 business days". No one ever followed up with me, I had to call to check on the status of my claim EVERY time. The request for a replacement dishwasher after two weeks was denied because the part was going to be available in another week, but then I wouldn't receive the part for a minimum of another week after that. When I asked to speak to a superior she refused and told me no one was available. After demanding to speak to one I was told they would contact me in ANOTHER 2-3 business days (we'll see if that ever happens). This is (still going on) an absolutely awful service experience. I don't care that the dishwasher broke, I care that they've handled it so poorly.
Ordered water filter3/23. Called one week later and was told it takes 10 days just to process order request, and on 5-7 days shipping and yes 3 weeks later you could get it. Parts customer service believes this is acceptable, in fact they read you a statement that sounds like its crafted by a lawyer. Imagine needing a part for actual operation of refrigerator. 3 weeks waiting on a part. Think about this when shopping for a new appliance. Then dont buy ge!
I cannot tell you how frustrated I am with GE and their incompetent customer service processes. Fist 2 knobs went bad after less than 2 years of use. Too expensive to replace ($41 a piece). But just after 2 years of use, one of the ranges could not turn off gas so I had to call my gas company in emergency and they shut the gas off. Made service request with GE. On 19 March 2018, they sent me what turned out to be a completely incompetent technician. After over an hour in house, looking at his computer, he "ordered" parts necessary to fix everything (out of control gas leak and knobs). Today, the 29th of March, they still have not ordered the right parts and had to reschedule service. Technician coming in on 2 April but no parts on hand. Customer service is useless, you get the run around, and get no where. GE should be ashamed of themselves. If I could throw all their appliances out on the streets today I would. I will never buy GE again after my current appliances get replaced. Look elsewhere and don't deal with what I've been dealing with. Relatively new GE cooktop in my house but no stove to use because of GE's incompetence in dealing with problems on their poorly made appliances. Stay away!
Their website is deceptive - says 5-7 business days to ship.
Ordered a part that had failed on our GE dishwasher - Rubber sump inlet-giant hole in it!
Ordered part on 3/8/18. Status said "Part Not Shipped. I called the support number on 3/19/18 to ask where the part was. Daisy said it was on the truck. When I asked why the delay, she said it typically takes 7-10 days to ship the part out. WTF?
I asked why the website says 5-7 days, she couldn't answer.
The part finally showed as shipped on 3/19/2018. Only, it wasn't shipped, they just got the label for it. It finally shipped on (Got tracking #) 3/21/2018, and is not expected to arrive until 2/29/2018. From Louisville, KY, to Indianappolis, IN, then to Pittsdon, PA. Took 3 days! Via Fedex? So I have been doing dishes by hand for 2 weeks. Uggh. Next time, I will get it on Amazon, as the price is cheaper, and the shipping won't take nearly as long. DON"T BUY PARTS FROM GEAPPLIANCES.COM!
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MODEL! Even though this machine has a choice to use the sensor water lever or choose yourself, it will never fill close to half way because of the new law passed. If your washing more then a few clothes, bedspread, blanket, couple coats, anything over a few shirts you will need to use the laundromat. It also takes an average of 1 hour to wash and is very loud when washing. The repair man (yes already a repair man after a couple months) said it will only get louder as time goes by. I never minded doing laundry before but after this machine life is very complicated with it. Please do not waste your time and money with this model. I will no longer purchase GE.
GE Appliances - Bad quality plus bad service is a loose - loose scenario.
A 5 yera's old GE Profile induction range (PH925STSS) failed. (Error code F640).
Contacted GE Appliances for service. (Their repair technician, not a 3rd party) arrived on 2/27/18. Issue was diagnosed as a failed power supply circuit board.
Service technician was completely sure that was the problem.
Agreed to wait 10 days and order the part (GE Appliances will not ship in less than 10 days).
Part costs $1,006.20 + TAX. Paid $118,95 for diagnostics and agreed to wait.
Two technicians (Both GE appliances employees) arrived on 3/9/18. They replace the newly ordered model and the failure persisted (Same F640 Erol code).
After consulting with remote support guru (Who told them that error code F640) I'd not valid (?) they advised me that they need to replace another control module (?!). Wait time: another 10 days.
Told repair technicians that if they can repair within 2 to 3 days I will accept. They explained that GE Appliances cannot ship parts in less than 10 days).
So, told them they are done.
Called GE Appliances service and complained (Asked for refunding what I've paid). Support person at GE appliance explained to me that there will be no refund issued since the diagnostics was valid at the time it was made (?!).
Stay away from GE Appliances. Equipment failure is expected. Repair technicians who cannot repair the equipment and customer service who blames the customer is not acceptable.
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
