My wall oven broke 20 days ago and i called the gr appliance customer service, they came a couple days later and they didn't even look and see what was wrong with my wall oven and all they said is that i needed 5 parts without knowing - he said he would come and fix it on the 21st of November, once he had left my house he said that one of the parts wouldn't come till December but he'd still come and put the other four parts in, and today i got a phone call saying that they are going to put my appointment on hold until a month from today - i don't understand how i'm supposed to do anything with both of my wall ovens broken and thanksgiving is coming up and i can't cook for my family with the ovens being broken and the ge appliance workers not caring and/ or not caring about their appliance that is broken.
I've been trying to get a microwave repaired for over 3 weeks almost 4. After having appts. A week apart they have failed once again. It's one excuse after the other. I've taken off work twice to meet them at my home and each time they have cancelled at last minute. This is pathetic! I never plan to buy another GE product! Shame on you GE. Now my review will not submit!
Microwave keep blowing fuse, I brought it to their attention, the staff Jill requested a lot of info, proof documentation. I did she became a joke, Tatal wasted of time to no avail.
We are seniors and contacted GE. Worked with a customer service rep (Della) who was extremely helpful. Concerned about our problem and tried to resolve it. She was very caring and we e-mailed each other until we found a solution. I will continue to buy GE products because of this attention.
Moved into a new just after 1 year our GE dishwasher started leaking on the floor every time you used it. Now my GE Dryer just stopped working. In the good old day's appliances used to run for a long time without any issues nowadays its sad, the quality is gone but the prices are high. Probably never buy GE again.
My parents bought a GE glass stovetop and they had nothing but problems. The glass doesn't distribute the heat throughout making the food burn on the outside but leave it raw in the inside. We had 3 technicians to look at it and they said that my mother doesn't know how to cook (pretty bad insult there). They said it was an 'us' issue. Unfortunately, my son not knowing this, bought a GE stove with the glass top and he can't use his as well. Same issue.
Customer service is horrible, spoke to several people including supervisor which basically told us that since the stove can produce heat, they don't feel it's defective.
If I could give it no stars, I would.
Do not purchase products from GE it is absolutely garbage!
I got my brand new stove at the house and the main front panel was not working. This is just before Christmas. I had no stove to cook my turkey and ham at Christmas and New year. Complete disaster no parts in town to fix it. It took 4 months to replace it the complete stove. Now I have the igniters coming on randomly. The tech came around and told me to push the knobs inward. One month later started again placed another service call awaiting the fix. Probably a logic board. The is also a big issue with safety of the gas burners. At medium to low levels you cannot see the flame. My wife left the handle on top of a running burner and burnt herself twice because you cannot see the running flame. Talked to the office of the president and nothing will be done. Also talked to CSA and they said that it it is certified and nothing will be done. What I was looking for was a retro fit to have light indicators showing the burner was running instead of a stainless steel knob against a stainless steel panel with no contrast to make it stand out and show the burner was left on. We also left the burner running overnight. My Kitchen aid dual fuel stove did have such a thing. CSA and GE has not standards when it comes to safety. It's all about money and not the safety of the customers. Below are two pics one without front knobs and you cannot tell that the front right burner is turned on and the other shows the front burner with knobs that indicated the front right burner is turned on. This is how my wife burned herself twice on this stove with the pan in the rear right burner.
Don't buy GE ever again take my word!

Buyers beware these appliances are horrible and will break after the first year! From ranges to fridges and everything in between. I had a horrible experience with ge AND WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!
Do not buy this POJ. This washer has been trouble for us since we bought it. It does not handle bulky loads (eg. Throw rugs etc,) without vibrating across the floor. Unfriendly to operate, the noise level is disturbing and sound like a wounded cat. I've always bought GE washers & dryers but no more! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for another washer.

So it use to be that you could buy an appliance and if it didn't meet your requirements that you could return or exchange it within a reasonable amount of time. That was a fantastic customer service change from the 60's and 70's where you were out of luck when you walked out the door. During the 80', 90's and 00's IT was expected that quick returns were provided but that is a thing of the past.
It seems that GE refrigerators (which I purchase thru Home Depot) now (although you aren't told at delivery) provides only a 48 hour return practice. Any contact outside the 48 hours is met with penalties and a uncaring customer service.
Even worst is that Home Depot now hides behind the GE return program because they have conveniently decided to not provide a customer service program to support these events.
THEREFORE, if you decide to Change, Upgrade or Return a GE refrigerator you are out of luck without absorbent return charges being added on to any of the actions above...
Well so much for buying USA
My husband and I just bought a new house with GE washer and dryer included. However, when we move in we just found out that the dryer has some damage inside and won't operate. We called GE and they said they would repair it. We don't want just repair because it's a brand new house and we just moved in for like a week, then they asked for closing statement, which we included in our email and sent for three times to three different people. Then they asked us to prove we are the first owner of the house, which doesn't make any sense because it's a BRAND NEW HOUSE. After two months, we just gave up and asked to just repair the dryer, then after about a week, they just called say that they can't repair it today, because two people are needed to repair the dryer, and they just have one people today. I was furious because this makes no sense at all! I just have no idea when will this problem be solved. Maybe forever.
Very irresponsible people, very disappointed for the awful customer service experience; We asked a very specific question about whether or not the service call will be covered by the warranty, and had only scheduled the service after we were given a positive answer, by a GE service department representative over the phone; The technicians showed up, looked at the fridge and told us they won't be able to perform any repairs and left; Fine, a month later received a bill for $285, for what? A promised repair under warranty which did not happen, and overcharging us for the trip? Called in to seek for reasonable solution and was threatened the bill will go to collection if remain unpaid. Seriously? Very shameful experience and extremely shady business practice.
I purchased my GE gas stove in 2018. After the ignition kept clicking within the first year I submitted a claim to have it repaired since it was still under the manufacturers warranty. This began a two month saga of dealing with the incredible incompetence of GE employees and the first service repairman who came out to fix the stove. I'll begin by saying I found out that the model they sold me in 2018 was discontinued years ago! So it sat in a warehouse for years before it was sold to me! The stove is in a rental property three hours from where I live so each attempt to repair involved driving almost 400 miles round trip, tolls, and taking time off from work. After having to take multiple days off from work to meet repairmen three separate times and another day that they didn't bother to cancel the appointment or tell me that the part was back ordered, I finally got them to replace the stove. They sent the wrong parts to me three times and after telling me they had to attempt to repair the stove three times before they would replace it they then changed their story and said they could attempt to repair it an infinite number of times! Only after I told them I was going to write to their CEO and write about their lies on social media did they finally agree to replace the stove!
I purchase a GE fridge in April less then 5 months in September it is not working. Called the customer service to use the warranty they keep passing me around and more than 1 week I don't have my fridge not even looked at and all he food spoiled. On my own manage to talk to the 3rd party technician that GE use for my area and they told me that they wouldn't come because GE wouldn't pay them if they come to my house without the work order and it happened before. What a scam for a big company. I wrote to their ombudsman and more than a week not even an automatic reply I received. This means for them the customer is just good to buy, after that you are on your own. I regret so much to have purchase their product. Please do a better research before you buy.
I have been dissatisfied with my purchase since I got it. They keep telling me that it is working right. It only fills (if I'm lucky) 1/4 full. On rinse, there is no water in the tub to rinse the clothes. Cold water dribbles in, but the hot comes in with lots of pressure. If I close the lid while filling, the pressure cuts off. I open it and it comes right back. They sell lemons and then don't want to make sure that they are working right. I have this huge tub and can only use the bottom 1/4 of it. On a good day 1/3. I wish I had seen this site before I bought.
Horrible service - I echo what others have said, do not purchase GE appliances. Buyer beware, do not purchase GE.
Top load washer is only 10 months old and the transmision is destroyed. Phoned the warranty dept and got the absolute run around. Three weeks later and still not a call back. Im sure they are tired of hearing from me.
Bought a GE Dryer less then 4 months later it quits working called for a repair. Service man came found control board burned out and needed to order a new one. 6 weeks later still no part. Have back ordered it 5 times. Called GE customer service twice they gave us the biggest bs story ever told. Will not EVER buy a GE product again biggest ripoff ever.
I bought my general electric four days ago and it doesn't work. The service deparment calls one time and never shows up for the appointment to fix it. Now I have to take two days off from work. NEVER AGAIN
We have been waiting for parts delivery and living without a refrigerator for over 20 days. I finally went online to see if I could find the parts. They were available and could be delivered overnight. I also contacted 2 other appliance repair companies. They said they could get the parts within 5 days. When I questioned GE they said they could only go through certain distributors and if they didn't have them the customer had to wait. I will never buy a GE appliance again.
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
