We purchased a gas range from Home Depot in March 2019. The main reason we picked this model [JCGB8700DEJ4WW] is it came with a griddle as a center burner. It was advertised as a Non-Stick surface which is exactly what we wanted. The range itself works great but we have not used the self-cleaning option yet, don't bake a lot. However, the griddle is NOT Non-Stick. I don't know how GE can state that? When I contacted them, they sent emailed me the manual on what to do when you get your range... wash the Griddle with warm soapy water & dry.! This does not/did not make the Griddle Non-Stick! They sent the manual to me 2-3 times. I even got one to tell me how to remove rust from the Griddle - it's aluminum!
I received a second Griddle, the original one had a chip in the coating, I thought that it was defective and the new one would be a Non-Stick surface. That did not happen. I don't think GE designed the Griddle on purpose not to be Non-Stick, but it is not! The manual states not to use oils or sprays on it as it may discolor the Griddle. I have and it doesn't and bacon doesn't cause it to discolor and I don't know of any food that creates more oil/grease than bacon.
It is now months later - no response from GE. The Non Stick coating that is on the Griddle is now flaking off. Not sure what to do. I am pretty sure that the black coating is not edible and if I scrape off all of the flaking, I will have an aluminum surface instead of a black surface. However, one might wonder if it will work any worse than the " non-stick" surface?

GE Dryer
March 3, 2020

I purchased a new GE dryer in June 2019. In Jan 2020 (6 months old) the dryer stopped working - no power to the unit. After the service person checked it out he said the mother board had gone bad. At first GE told me the part was back ordered until April. When I told them that was not acceptable they finally found the part and shipped it to my house. After 3 weeks of use with the new mother board the dryer quit again, the service person came and the same thing again. I want a new dryer but they said they are shipping another mother board to my house. When I asked if they could at least overnight the part they said they could not change their standard shipping. So now I am waiting again for the part and then to have the service people come and put it in. I have already been without a dryer for 10 days on this second episode (3 weeks on the first episode). I am so frustrated! I will never buy GE again and will never recommend their products to anyone. Don't buy GE!

We bought a GE GFD28GYNFS two months ago from Home Depot. They had to come out twice to fix the doors & now the entire fridge quit cooling yesterday (Saturday). We did not notice it until about 7 pm yesterday, so a service call was not available until Monday at 1 pm - we lost all of our food in both the fridge & the freezer. This new fridge was a replacement for another GE fridge that kept leaking all over inside, but the repair cost was over half of its used value, so we sprang for a new one. Very disappointed...

NEVER, EVER AGAIN GE
February 20, 2020

I have been dealing with GE's No-Customer Support Dept, even have a case number... I purchased their GE Adora dishwasher, had my closing 2 1/2 weeks ago the machine stopped working in less than 2 weeks, it happens I know, and it would have been fine if they even cared but nope.
Called GE they send me a 3rd party A & E to fix it yesterday, between A & E AND GE they could not pinpoint the issue but thought they had it fixed (yesterda,) today the exact same issue, blinking light, no dishwasher. I call GE 3 times, spoke to a rep that tells me yes, they have an issue with their locks, I'm sent back to A & E, I have to wait for another week before they even show up AND GE NOR A & E will be bringing ANY parts to fix the issue that GE is aware they have, but GE gave me a 3 month extended warranty on an appliance that will be out of commision for the foreseeable future, one they KNEW had problems. You would think that after making a customer wait 2 weeks (at the VERY least) what they should do is bring the parts to be able to fix the issue so that THEIR customer won't be further inconvenienced, but that would mean they actually care and want to do right.
THE ONLY REASON I WENT WITH GE WAS BECAUSE OF ALL THE BAD PRESS THEY WERE GETTING, I WANTED TO STAND BEHIND THEM... THE JOKE IS ON ME, THEY HAVE OBVIOUSLY EARNED EVERY NEGATIVE REVIEW/COMMENT.
WHAT A COMPLETE LET DOWN.

GE Dryer
February 13, 2020

I bought a GE dryer in 2017. It is already not working properly! It appears the control panel is bad. I called GE only to find out I have to pay labor, parts plus $118 just for someone to come to the house. Prior to buying GE I have had other dryers that have lasted 15 years. I will never ever buy GE again! Lesson learned! Don't buy GE! If I could give it zero stars I would! Very disappointed

Dishwasher repair
February 13, 2020

I called GE appliance repair to get my one-year-old GE dishwasher repaired. I have now been waiting 2 weeks for parts. Repairs were supposed to be done by February 13 ( today) called the customer care and was just informed that it will be another week before the parts are in. I never received a phone call, or email to let me know this was happening. I have now taken two days off to sit at home waiting for the repair man to come, and no one has bothered to show up or make a phone call. If this is the way General Electric customer care takes care of their customers, maybe it's time to look at other companies to purchase my appliances from.

Bought a GE double oven/gas range Sept 2016. April 2019, 2.5 years later, top oven doesn't hold the correct temperature when I program it... even though it says 350 degrees, it really could be 210! Had to pay labor service call of $99.95 to look at the thing and $50 part deposit... total of $155.95.
Service tech comes back 9 days later with parts. Service tech was nice enough not to charge me the labor second time, but just labor costs of $74.78 and one of the 3 parts her replaced... I think he knew their appliances are crap! Another $166.54 out of pocket.
Now, Feb 2019... same problem AGAIN! Preset oven to 350 degrees, beeps saying oven is at 350 degrees... when I hit "cancel" and "bake" and "start"... temp down to around 200 degrees! WTF!
So now, I'm "on hold" waiting for a consumer relations person for almost an hour! See screenshot! Wish me luck!

Bad Quality
February 6, 2020

We purchased GE appliances in the past because we never had any problems. However, the newer appliances are no good. We bought a stainless steel french door refrigerator 2 years ago. After several months, the refrigerator started making very loud noises. We called for service and it was repaired. It started making noises again and was repaired a second time. Not long after that, the door handle to the freezer came loose and it was repaired. The warranty is now expired so we will have to pay for the next repair. We bought a GE dryer in Jan 2019, and within 10 months the drum had to be replaced! The serviceman wouldn't take the old drum so it's sitting in our basement because we have no way of taking it to a scrap yard as it's too big to fit in our car. We bought a GE over the range microwave. The exhaust fan worked fine but the steam from cooking got inside the door to the microwave! We are in the process of having a new door installed. So far, the only GE appliance we didn't have a problem with is the GE convection oven but that'll probably change too. I can't believe the poor quality of these appliances!

Website
February 1, 2020

Tried to order from their website multiple times and keeps telling me that my order cannot be processed, incorrect address. Pretty sure I know my own address better than they do. Have to call customer service each time and they tell me that they cannot find my order. Need to go through the process all over again, which takes much longer by phone. Very inconvenient.

I purchased a dishwasher a few months ago and had only used it a few times before it stopped working. I had called customer service to have them send a technician to fix the unit and after a dozen calls with more than 5 different customer service reps the dishwasher is still not working. The customer service reps are rude and unable to confirm why a technician who is scheduled to service the unit does not show up - this happened 3 times! Not surprising where GE is now given the poor quality of its products and employees. Never purchasing a GE product given the poor quality of its products and employees. Save yourself the headache.

Danger danger
January 25, 2020

I have a ge wall oven. I thought that ge was a good product. Not so much. The oven racks in my oven are 16 inches from front to back. Guess what my oven is 19 inches front to back. The racks have a 3 inch gap in the back. When cooking in the oven the cookie sheet fall of the back and your dinner is on the bottom of a hot oven. Dangerous trying to take racks out and retrieve your dinner off the bottom of the oven. Called ge they have extenders you can buy. If it was built right why do they have extenders?

DO NOT BUY
January 21, 2020

As you can see from the attached photo GE would not allow my review on their website as it would "direct business away" well that was the point. I was trying to save someone else the headache and trouble I've been dealing with. The registration card and online registration only ask for date of installation, however when it came to replacing my faulty unit they would not do it until I provided proof of purchase. We purchased prior to our kitchen remodel and by the time it was installed it was over a year from date of purchase. So now they don't want to replace it and one oven doesn't heat properly.

Bought new 48 monogram side by side in late 2019
Makes a lot of noise when cooling and seems to run for ever, not appropriate choice if you have an open kitchen/family room.
Makes gurgling sounds from time to time.
Lighting in freezer section is ridiculously low.
Water dispenser makes noise when dispensing water.
Shelves and drawers have been cheapened noticeably from previous model.
Other than that it cools properly, at least so far.

I posted my review because I believe they help for people to better know what they get. GE wouldn't even let me post it. They rejected it with no logical base.
I wouldn't suggest their products for the poor value in customer review and care of the customer.

GE café series appliances are inferior products My GE café series range and gas stove as well as the refrigerator every quired multiple repair calls through customer service at GE. This continues to be a problem and these are clearly inferior products. Avoid buying these at all costs. The four houses I needed kitchen suites for Arnel KitchenAid or Samsung. The one house that I put in a GE profile refrigerator, it to failed in three years. The café series appliances and two of my homes were over $12,000 for two kitchens and I will never again buy a GE product.
