I bought four kitchen appliances from home Depot in 2016 December, Article number *******158 to replace my very nicely working but 25 year old appliances. I was happy that it will work longer years. After installation, GE dish washer left things wet. It was repaired twice. After one year warranty was over the larger burner's central part of cooking range stopped working, so far I am unable to get it changed or repaired due to expenses. No w the over the range microwave is out of order. First a fuse blew, that was replaced by us but now its totally gone case. I regret changing my appliances to give new look. GE is a big company but what should we do people like me who spend for their product with their limited budget after painstaking decisions of spending money at right place.and

I cannot begin to convey my constant, utter disappointment in our General Electric appliances and our purchase of said appliances through Ferguson Enterprises July of 2016. I purchased a microwave drawer (that caught on fire 4 days after we started using the kitchen- made by Samsung not GE), 2 dishwashers, a fridge/freezer, 6burner/griddle range, hood, and oven from these miserable institutions. I also purchased the scam they call the True Blue Protection Plan for each of the appliances. Every single item has failed and required multiple service calls. I have learned that the incorrigible practice of modern day appliances is to manufacture pieces of $#*! that will require nearly immediate repair and to then harass the customers with red tape & additional billing when their crap products invariably malfunction.
Once again, I woke this morning to a range that would not turn on. Once again, I am microwaving my tea water like some sort of brute

Complete apathy
April 12, 2019

Service technician canceled my appointment to repair a new dryer that died after 6 weeks. Customer service associates couldn't care less about him lying or rescheduling my appointment. Defective staff not trying very hard to fix defective products.

Bought brand new frig September from Albert Lee. Frig was delivered in October. They damaged my wall and banister bringing into my house (they've never had anyone look at it or offer to fix it!). They damaged both frig doors bringing it in. They ordered the doors the and of October, they arrived in January. One was the wrong color. They sent out a replacement door, it was damaged in transit. They sent another door, damaged in transit. Then the repair man ordered another door and asked then to "double pack it"... we received 2 doors! One was undamaged so finally April 4th we have a fixed frig. However, we still have 5 doors in or garage they have not picked up, and the damage to our home that no one has fixed. Love the frig... so far.

I HAVE ALWAYS PURCHASED GE PRODUCTS AS I FEEL THEY ARE WELL MADE, HAVE A GOOD WARRANTY AND ARE IN THE AVERAGE PRICE RANGE. HOWEVER, LIKE ALL BUSINESSES THAT PROVIDE APPLIANCES FOR CONSUMERS GE FINALLY WENT OVER TO THE DARK SIDE. MY 'NEW' GE GLASS COOK TOP STOVE IS A SHAME. ONLY TWO YEARS OLD, THE LARGE FRONT RIGHT BURNER IS BADLY SCRATCHED FROM POT USE (KIND OF WHAT THE APPLIANCE WAS PURCHASED FOR) AND THERE IS A WHITE CLOUD THAT RINGS THE BURNER THAT WILL NOT COME OUT NO MATTER THAT I CLEAN IT BI-WEEKLY WITH BAR HELPER AND SOFT SCRUB WITH THE RECOMMENDED PAD. IT LOOKS UNSIGHTLY AND I FEEL THE SCRATCHES ARE GOING TO CAUSE A CRACK IN THE GLASS. SHAME ON GE. I CALLED THEIR SERVICE CENTER TWICE AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS OUT OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN OR WILL DO. THEY ADMITTED THAT THE SURFACE IRREGULARITIES ARE NOT NORMAL BUT WOULD TAKE NO ACTION TO SATISFY THEIR CUSTOMER; THEY NATURALLY ASSUME WE'RE THE CAUSE, NOT THEIR INFERIOR PRODUCT. AND A NEW GLASS TOP? $350 PLUS SHIPPING. SINCE THE GLASS TOP IS THE REASON FOR PURCHASING THIS MODEL, I CAN NOT SAY ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT IT. I WILL REFRAIN FROM PURCHASING ANY GE PRODUCTS FROM HERE ON OUT; I COULD HAVE BOUGHT A FRIGIDAIRE FOR MUCH LESS.

GE dishwasher = crap
February 23, 2019

My dishwasher stopped working after two years. The owners manual doesn't provide information on replacing fuses or anything beyond basic operation. I thought by buying GE, I was buying a quality product. No, I've learned my lesson and will avoid in the future.

We received our appliances which came with a protective film on it, which was extremely hard to remove. Some of the glue or whatever they used to put the film on with would not come off. Using a very soft sponge we tried to remove it and it scratched the face of the stove. We still have not it got it off the refrigerator. GE did give us a small refund check. However we had a light problem with the stove, GE would not send out a service rep until we changed the bulb. Customers service rep stated it was not a GE bulb as they don't make them. Lol, which is exactly the kind of bulb we replaced it with... a GE bulb! Package was suppose to be stainless steel, however its magnetic. The longer we have the appliances the more scratches appear. The dishwasher is loud and It is very difficult to keep clean.we paid double for it then Samsung which we loved that brand. Never will I recommend or purchase GE again. Crap appliances, crap service, crap customer service. Pathic company

Never by from GE
January 24, 2019

My brand new microwave is giving trouble from day one. Technician came and blamed on the electrical outlet. So I changed the outlet and the wires. Still have the issue. This time another technician came and opened the microwave and said it has lot grease inside the panel that's why one part is broken which didn't make any sense. Plus the microwave has in built vent and installed over the the oven to suck all the grease. So naturally there will be some grease in inner part of the panel right? The microwave looks and clean like a new one. But he put his absurd comment regarding the grease in a note. Guess what 2 weeks late it started giving me the same trouble again. And I have only one month left for the warranty to expire. When I complained and made another service call the scheduled a service but no tech showed up. Upon calling them again they said the tech cancelled the appointment because your machine has lots of grease inside. Clean it first. I tried to make them understand that the machine is clean the grease is inside the dashboard which only a tech can open. How can I open that? The dumb representative didn't understand. I requested to speak with a manager. This time the manager said my warranty is voided because the because it has grease inside it. I asked them" so you are building a machine to suck the grease from the cooking and telling me not to cook because your machine can't handle the grease? " I cleaned the microwave everyday. There is not grease on the parts I can access. I sent them several pictures of the microwave to prove my point. They reapplied the warranty and told me to expect a call within 24 hrs from another engineer to find out my options for a permanent solution. But it is going to be 24hrs soon and didn't receive any call yet. Very very frustrated. Here I am attaching the picture of my microwave. Tell me if you find any grease.

GE Services
January 18, 2019

My GE Dish washer was leaking water. The one year warranty was almost up. The repair man came out three times to fix it. The leak was less and less. Since they could not fix the leak I was giving a new dishwasher with free installation, removal of the old dishwasher, and a new one year warranty. The people I dealt with in customer service were the best., as well as the repair people. Based on my experience with GE, I will continue buying their products as well as recommending them.

GE freezers and washers
December 31, 2018

I don't know what happened to GE appliances, but they are not the same quality anymore. I bought a brand new GE washer and it was less than 8 years old when it stopped spinning. Ever had a washer that lasted 20 years? Used to be that way. Not anymore. In the past 5 years, I bought a GE chest freezer. It quit after 3 years. Regulator switch went out. Then, about a year later the compressor went out. Not fixable. Bottom line is, both were beyond the warranty period. Of course! That's pretty much what I now expect from GE. I am done buying GE products. Shoddy workmanship and inferior parts.

Microwave Paint
December 19, 2018

I purchased all the kitchen appliances. All GE brands. The microwave after almost 3 years the white paint from inside start peeling. When I called GE directly, received no help at all. They wanted to replace the Microwave and the Stove for over $2400. I can buy the full set from Best Buy for almost $2300 all in Samsung brand. Also, this related to paint issue. Maybe the paint is a very low quality or something related to Lead-paint. Imagine you are warming up the food and no nothing about the paint is peeling, and each time you have small pieces in your food. I wish I could add the recording of the Microwave that everybody could see.

Costco Home Delivery - BE VERY CAREFUL to not trust the delivery company, Premier Product Management.

Costco's reputation is tarnished by their Home Delivery service, unfortunately.

The Home Delivery service, Premier Product Management for appliances does not stand by their service. Costco is not standing by their product of Home Delivery either.

BE VERY CAREFUL, to the point of video taping the delivery guys. The delivery guys are not careful. Significant damage was done to my floors because they didn't use common sense to cover the floor with cardboard or something, while they dragged and man-handled the appliance across the floor. When the damage they caused was pointed out to them, they asked me what they should do. REALLY?

When I filed a claim, the delivery guys lied and said they didn't cause the damage.

Better Video tape Premier Product Management delivery guys or you might be sorry!

Unless you like to go to small claims court.

Ordered a GE washer and dryer offline. It is taking me over a month to get someone to come out that can install all the parts I ordered (new dryer vent, reinforced hoses, anti-vibration pads). Today would have been the 4th time someone would have attempted to come out to finish the installation. The men they subcontract this work to are always very rude and demeaning. Each time they have tried to give me a reason of why I don't need the extra parts installed. I have to explain every time that I paid for these parts and I want them installed. The first time they came, they didn't even bring the parts with them. The second time, the guy said I didn't need them and tried to steal them. When I tried to call the customer service line because I was having issues with him being rude, he darted out the front door (leaving it open) and left. They couldn't even get him to answer their phone calls to come back and finish the work. The third time, the guy complained that it was too heavy so he couldn't put the anti-vibration pads in. And the fourth time, they just didn't show up.

One star only because that is the lowest I could rate them.

My wife arranged for a GE service technician to repair our washing machine, which was not draining. The the day of the service I received a text message telling me the technician was "on the way", and showed his location to be about 30 minutes away. He showed up an hour-and-a-half later, unaware that he was late and without any phone call or other communication on the matter.

Twice during the service call, the technician asked me for items he needed - first, a bucket so he could drain the washing machine, and then a pair of needle-nosed pliers to clear a piece of clothing from the filter chamber. I was giving some form of assistance during the entire process, which took about 20 minutes.

I was then presented a bill for $233; $99.95 for showing up (late) and $115 for clearing the filter. I told the tech I thought that those charges were excessive, especially so under the circumstances. He gave me a business card with an 800 number, but that number was only for setting up service calls.

When the bill came in the mail, I called the 800 number supposedly for "billing disputes", but the automated menu offered no option for billing disputes without an existing case number, so I selected that option. After being on hold for a while I selected the call-back option, and a customer service rep did call back. From the beginning she said she was a "top-level" rep. This turned out to not be true. She said later that she was not authorized to adjust the charges, which was contradicted by her supervisor when I spoke to her.

What I was told by both the "top-level" rep and her supervisor was that the work was done and the charges would not be adjusted. By way of response to my complaints, they said the only thing they would do is pass my complaints along to the service department and that there would be no adjustment to the fees.

So, in a nutshell, GE Appliance Service, by their own admission, departs from industry service standards by NOT crediting the service call fee $99.95) against repair charges. They also feel it is appropriate to charge $115 for 20 minutes worth of work. GE Customer Service does not care how poorly their technicians perform in terms of coming in a timely manner, or actually prepared to do the work necessary. They don't care that their customers are put at an inconvenience and asked to provide tools to the technician. None of this matters to them.

Not that it will make any difference to a huge company like GE, but I will make it a point to warn anyone who will listen to avoid using GE Services, and instead look for someone who actually cares about the customer experience and is willing to do more than pay lip service when a customer is dissatisfied.

Would give a 0 if i could. Bought a new washing machine from Home Depot, broke from the start! 2 months after delivery and still not fixed, service man couldn't fix it, called it a lemon, still its at our house w cheap GE jerks trying to fix it! Replace this part and that part, while u take the time and the energy for them to come, then they dont call back etc. Horrible service, super frustrating experience. Waste of time and money. And their phone system is purposefully confusing like a maze. DO NOT BUY GE products (Home depot has been horrible as well in this situation)
