We needed a flight on a 2 days notice. They have been quick and efficient and by far the least expensive. We got a really good experience with them.
Looks like I got scammed as well. After entering all my info, it just went to a normal page, no confirmation email was sent as well. I tried to book this on a late night (Saturday) and the phones had no response (stayed on hold for 55 min).

I relied on their being part of TripAdvisor which seems to be involved in the scam
They ask for $150 change of ticket even when the airline gives up to 24 hours for changes at no cost
They tell you to call the airline and the airline tells you to call them
All the statement below are true. Went through the same over the past 2 days with this scam company. After 2 days they could not confirm a reservation with the airline, giving me the silly excuse that the credit card company has to verify. They put the lowest price up but they cannot give you a ticket at this price, or any ticket for that matter. I asked these crooks to cancel my "booking" immediately. Stay away! Today is 9/30/2014.
A big thanks to all of you! I was so close to finishing up my reservation, I got all the way to the travel insurance part then out of nowhere I thought "hmmm maybe I should check to see some reviews" Thank god I did! I don't generally like sharing my personal info online in the first place and now I'm so happy I didn't. They sound like a nightmare to deal with. Thanks for sharing even though it apparently cost you a lot of grief and time.
I was lucky my attempt to book did not go through. Whew! I called because the submit button failed to work and I didn't want to punch it twice and get charged twice. The customer service rep tried to book me over the phone for a flight that cost an additional $150 and had different dates. I canceled. Don't trust this outfit.
I am giving one star, because there is no option to give less than that. In simple words, it is a BIG SCAM run by some Indians to milk money from Fare conscious Travelers.
They simply advertise least prices for the tickets, which you will not find anywhere online. Then when you book through them, they will just give you their website confirmation number. They will not mail you the confirmed e-ticket for several days citing the reason that your credit card is being verified, its still under process etc etc. In reality they are just waiting for the price to go up, so that when you will repeatedly keep on calling them for your confirmed e-ticket, they will inform you that the prices are gone up now & you have to pay the higher price for the ticket, which you thought that you have already bought at the best price.
When you call them you are on hold for more than 30 mins, & very shamelessly they talk to you with no courtesy or no responsibility.
One wise word to all of you reading this review- I am myself an Indian, I also fell for their lowest price trap & was fooled by them. Please do not go for them otherwise you will be nowhere. Its better to book through any other website like orbitz.com, where you will find the tickets little bit expensive, but you will get peace of mind.
My son booked tickets to go to China and he was e mailed while he was at the airport going to check the the tickets had been cancelled cost me £1700 to get him there on time so please please please never use this company
If i could give zer I would, I booked my ticket to havana, they took the money, the send me the confirmation but not the electronic ticket, after 2 days i contacted them to ask when i was going to receive it, they said to me that they cancelled the ticket WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW! THEN my money was credited back and when i contacted them the price has increase, i had to send my credit card details and after 4 days NOTHING, I have send 4 emails asking and nothing not even a reply... i decided to let it go in case that it was a scam... Called my bank to tell them to block that company from taking the money
Horrible! I dont think it could be worse. I bought tickets with them to go to brasil to visit my family. After we (me and my boyfriend) bought the tickets we both had our cards stolen. 3 weeks before our trip they contacted us that they changed our itinerary. They added 3 stops! They said we could be refunded but it would take 6 weeks for the money to go back to my card (which was canceled). It took me a whole day to arrive in my city instead of the promised 12 hours. Not to mention that they scheduled flights that had intervals of one hour. As a result I had to run in the airports so I wouldnt miss the flight. If you use skyscanner or websites like this be careful and pay attention to which agency you are buying with. Read reviews and do make the same mistake that I did.
Will never use this business again. Had to cancel a flight was not given a refund or allowed to change the name to another person to save the ticket, we were SOL. We were not told there was a no refund policy when purchasing the ticket.
BEWARE! Total scam!
After shopping around online for reasonable rates for a brief trip to Toronto the following week, I booked a round trip flight from NYC to Toronto on Faregeek.com for $228.17 on Aug 11th and within minutes received an email confirming my reservation. I made plans around my confirmed reservation, informed others of my plans, and of course stopped shopping around for flight deals. The following day, on Aug 12th, nearly 24 hours since my reservation through Faregeek.com was confirmed I received an email from Faregeek.com requesting to bill my credit card for $516.60, more than twice the amount agreed, which stated "we are unable to confirm your reservation [...] please authorize us to charge you new amount $516.60". I replied to the email stating my displeasure and asking that they please honor the original reservation or take my credit card off their files immediately. I tried shopping around online on other travel booking websites for other options but by then fares had gone up by $100 for my travel dates. I heard no more from Faregeek.com until nearly midnight on Aug 13th when I received a second email, nearly identical to the previous one, stating "we are unable to confirm your reservation [...] please authorize us to charge you new amount $461.20". On Aug 14th I called their customer service *******327 requesting once more that they please honor the original reservation or take my credit card off their files immediately. Very rude and unsympathetic customer service rep. Within minutes of that phone call I received a final email from Faregeek.com stating that my flight reservation had been cancelled. By that time rates had more than doubled for my dates and I was forced to cancel my trip entirely.
Their customer service sucks. The name on my daughters internationally ticket was spelled incorrectly and I was frantic and sent 5 emails the day before her fight trying to ensure she would be able to fly out of Canada. No return email. No one answers the phone and you must leave a message, no one returns your calls. Today I find out the charge on my credit card was more than the purchase price. I will send one email than I will deal with the credit card company. Avoid this company even if the price is lower than everyone else's, it really wont be when they charge your card.
I had no problems booking my ticket. I did get an email telling me that they will verify the credit card etc. Then I got another email with the flight confirmation. So far all ok.
Here's where my problem lays. I checked the same flight again and the price dropped $198.68 CAD. I called Fare Geek and they will not honor it. There is only a 24 hr window and it is something you have to purchase for 15.00 He actually said to me. If the price went up we don't raise it. I told him about CheapAir. He didn't believe me. I told him last year I used Cheap Air. They will honor a price drop. I didn 't use them this year as their prices are in USD
I contacted the airline to see if they will do something for me.
So FareGeek I will NEVER use your site again.
Horrible experience with them. Like many other people writing the reviews I have also had the same issue with booking a flight having a confirmation and then emailing a day after to tell me the rate expired and asking me to pay a higher amount than what I agreed. I did not authorise that and called them. Apart from getting an extremely rude response from their customer service they told me my card will not be charged, when in fact the money was blocked and then they charged me the amount I initially was paying for the booking. Called them for a refund and told that they have to pass the information to accounts and that accounts will take care of this which they have not.
I just love it, I booked my tickets and got the confirmation within 12 hours. I never used this company but now I can say that there prices and service is really good.
What a scam! Do not trust FareGeek! This is what they do:
You think you have purchased the tickets for the price FareGeek has offered on a particular day. Well, you haven't. FareGeek just makes a reservation for you (they buy plane tickets for the price that is offered on a particular day). A couple of days later, they will send you an email saying that they were unable to authorise your payment (?), and that the price of the tickets went up. So, they will try to sell you the tickets you already think you have bought for more money. NASTY! AVOID THEM!

I BOUGHT MY TICKET MONTHS AGO I WENT TO THE AIRPORT THIS MORNING JULY 2ND 2014 AND THEY GAVE MY SEAT AWAY SAYING I CONFIRMED A DATE CHANGE WHEN THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME IT WAS A 15 MINUTE TIME CHANGE NOW THE FLIGHT THEY PUT ME ON HAS 2 STOPS WITH 3HRS WAIT EACH STOP THEY SAID THE AIR LINE CHANGED THE DATE WHICH IN FACT THE GAVE MY SEAT AWAY TO SOMEONE WHO PAID OFFERED THEM MORE MONEY DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE THE WILL $#*! YOU OVER ITS NEVER ABOUT YOU ITS ABOUT THEM NOTHING IS EVER CONCRETE WITH THEM. $#*!ERS I HOPE UR BUSINESS BANKRUPTS AND A CURSE GOES ON ALL OF YOU $#*!ERS.
Very RUDE customer service! I read reviews about them and couldn't believe that they can be so bad so I went ahead and booked a trip.
BIG MISTAKE, VERY BIG MISTAKE!
Yes you might save a little compare to other websites and when I say little I mean about 10$ saving though when it comes to customer service they absolutely do not care about your needs or wants or concerns for that matter. They don't even stay behind their promises. I paid 30$ money back guarantee (you should be able to cancel for any reason or change a flight booked without no penalty within one day of booking), totally crap!
I booked this morning a trip with them and called customer service in the afternoon to change the airplane companies that I found more favorable to me and guess what, can't change, can't cancel, if canceled will lose the money for one flight from the entire booking. So what's the 30$ guarantee for I paid? I asked for that amount to be refunded since the guarantee was not honored and of course no refunds.
SO PLEASE! LISTEN and DON'T BOOK WITH THEM! DON"T MAKE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID!
My flight still has to come and go and hopefully all will go well without any other surprises or cancellations or any other changes I hear it can happen and without any notified by the Faregeek.com!
My boyfriend just went through a similar experience based on what I read below. He booked tickets on faregeek.com via skyscanner.com. He received a confirmation email and then his bank called to confirm that he wanted to authorize the purchase. He agreed, and we waited for our tickets. Two days later, faregeek.com called to say the purchase wasn't authorized, and the price was going to be higher now. My bf called the bank again, while I checked out this wonderful website. The bank confirmed that all had been ok-ed 2 days ago, and when my boyfriend called faregeek.com Back for the 3rd time, the guy, Nick, now said that "Aeromexico has cancelled the flight." At this point I am waving my computer and telling my boyfriend to get ahold of the bank a. S.a. P... which he did, and cancelled his card. THANK YOU to all who have posted before this and to SiteJabber.:-)
