I booked Nov. 30,2014 and then discovered sitejabber and panicked after reading some bad reviews about faregeek. So far, so good, though. The confirmation and intinerary with the advertised price ($120US each ticket lower than the airline site) came within minutes of my booking on faregeek.com. The next day the e-ticket notification was e-mailed to me and my bank had the ticket amount pending on my credit card. I went to the United Airlines site and the itinerary was there with a changed confirmation code that United explained was due to their merger with Continental. That's OK. On the United website I was able to fill-in passenger profiles and selected seats in Economy. So far, everything is normal and as expected from faregeek. Our trip is still two months in the future so we will see if any problems develop. I intend to check the United website daily for any unforseen problems. I made one call to faregeek's customer service and the hold on the phone was three minutes (on a Sunday night e. S. t.) and my simple question was answered. So, after the booking and ticketing experience only three days later I can say that everything was handled as expected. I hope the entire itinerary is as good when we actually make the trip to Lisbon and back.

CAUTION: FAREGEEK IS A BIG BIG BIG CHEATERS!
Till date I have booked Air Tickets through 3 to 4 Websites similar to Faregeek but trust me the experience I had with Faregeek is THE worst experience of my lifetime.
This bloody f***ing people cheat their customers by showing the lesser price, later when we book it and after a day they will sent the email by saying Booking got cancelled by giving all bull$#*! reasons. When we tried booking the same Air Tickets then they are increasing the Price for nearly $200.
The funny part is the customer care representative says on my face "yes its my mistake and our fault but I can not give you again for the same price which you booked previously, instead I'll help you to book again the same Air Tickets but you need to Pay $200 extra..."
Please please please I request you that Don't ever book anything through this Faregeek because they are the BIG BIG BIG F***ING CHEATERs!
Today, and for the first time in nearly 20 years of traveling, I experienced the most blatantly terrible, fraudulent, sleazy, and just illegal flight tickets theft on www.faregeek.com. I went on that website to purchase flight tickets from JFK to CAI on EgyptAir. Their price was about the same as EgyptAir, but they are based in the States and usually credit card transactions go smoother that way. So, I purchased the tickets and received a "confirmation number" that did not show any output on checkmytip.com. So, waiting 20 minutes without any response or seeing the charge appearing on my CC transactions, I called their number and here comes the fun:
The "Senior" Sales agent, Ms. Julissa went on to tell me that the advertised price is Wrong (!) and that it includes airport taxes but not airlines taxes (bla bla bla) and that the actual price was about $450 more expensive. I was in total shock at this blatant theft. I objected this abhorrent theft, so Ms. Julissa went back to her supervisor and came back to me with a "reduced" airlines "taxes" down to $175... and that struck another nerve. So, I asked Ms. Julissa to remain on hold while I quickly ran my search on the airline website and got EXACTLY the same price announced on www.faregeek.com. Upon conveying those happy news to Ms. Julissa, she went on a state of total confusion and incoherence telling me that this price is not right, that the airlines will ask me to pay extra fees at JFK, bla bla bla, and that I can cancel my transaction and face all those "scary financial threats, unbeknown of to any human being but our friends at www.faregeek.com. Bottom line: yes please, cancel the transaction and she did in a blink. I went on on the airlines website, bought the 4 tickets, got the 6-digit booking ref. In 1 minute, and I am set for my flight.
The evidence: I have both the original confirmation and the cancellation emails from www.faregeek.com.
The verdict: Little do I need to say. We all hate embezzlement and theft, and we hate liars too.
Horrible experience with fare geek. Booked my ticket 2 weeks ago and everything was confirmed. Since my card is international they cancelled it 1 day before my flight and advised me to book a new ticket for 600$. This company totally sucks, never again!
I actually used Wego.com to find the ticket with faregeek.com. A friend of mine recommended Wego.com so I tried it and found a great ticket one-way from ORD (Chicago O'Hare) - BKK (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) for $688 on Cathay Pacific! Within 9 hours I received a "Ticketed" confirmation email from Wego on behalf of faregeek.com. I'm totally happy about this choice as I was a bit skeptical from all of the poor reviews. Give it a try, it worked for me.
I wish I had seen this before booking with FareGeek. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I booked a flight, got a reservation and then... 5 DAYS LATER they tell me that my flight wasn't booked and its the "airlines fault". I called to figure out what was going on and had to wait a total of 1.5 hrs on hold. Ben was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I asked to speak to the manager, called back a number of times to catch her but the ever illusive "Charlotte" won't return my call. Of course, now the prices have skyrocketed. Skyscanner shouldn't even promote them.
We also had a terrible experience with Faregeek. The site indicated that there were 4 seats available and we purchased two. However only one came through as purchased and the other did not. We contacted them and not only were they rude, unhelpful, and difficult to understand, minutes after the purchase, they charged us a $100. Cancellation fee for the one ticket which was purchased. They refused to waive the fee. This company really feels like it scammed us and does not seem to care about getting future business. Had they tried to find a comparable flight ( they suggested a flight that was hundreds more with a 14 hour layover) waived the cancellation fee, and been considerate or apologetic, we may have thought them to be reputable. I hope people vet them before using them. We learned our lesson.
Purchase round trip through them (Aeroflot airlines),
Then I needed to change return leg. Called them ( on hold about 20 minutes) - and some Indian women said that she can change for about $600. What? Then she asked me, "I can talk to my manager to see if we can give you a better price... how much you would like pay for that change"? WOW! What kind of question is that?
I hang up, called Aeroflot, they changed return flight for $100.
Don't ever believe with the one who said that FareGeek is good because they are the scammer. Sorry but mostly the Indian were them. Trust me they are the scammers. In my case and a friend of mine, we experienced the same thing about the credit card problem. The would even scammed through phone number. I think there is cyber court to give them a lesson :)
I had purchased a roundtrip ticket from Chicago to Bangkok and the price was shown at 1389USD, then they sent me an email saying that my credit card did not go through. After calling the bank I couldn't contact them for several days. I called the number they gave me in the email but no one would pick up, I left a message and got no reply, I sent them an email and still got no reply. After 4 days of trying to contact them, I managed to talk to someone and they told me that the price is now 1512 USD but when I checked on the website, it was still 1389USD. They said that is was non-refundable.
Horrible customer service. They will make a lie to you again and again. They will charge you a fee for nothing but of course no refund never. Don't be fooled by their price on their website. After all, you're gonna end up with paying more than others.
You'll regret the moment you book with them, you will get scammed. I was told by the airline my flight was never booked with the airline and after calling FareGeek they told me it was cancelled by the passenger. What! They are full of lies, I never cancelled. Run, run far away from them. Why did I not read the reviews before booking...
DO. NOT. BOOK. WITH. THEM.
SAVE YOUR MONEY! We booked our ticket from Vancouver to Calgary because it showed up as the cheapest on faregeek. Two days later, we get an email with a booking number that WASNT EVEN OURS and said that they cancelled our flight!
HOW DO YOU JUST CANCEL A FLIGHT. We tried calling, put on hold for 45 minutes just to get some bad English speaking indian man from a call center in India telling us it was the airlines fault. WHAT. THE. HELL. With all the time that passed by, the tickets already sky rocketed through the roof and we had to purchase a ticket elsewhere for a higher price.
SAVE YOURSELF THE EXTRA DOLLARS AND STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS.
THEY'RE NOT EVEN WORTH A 1 STAR. THEY ARE WORTH -**************001 STARS.
They are the $#*!ing worst ever! DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. They tricked me to book with a cheap price and canceled my reservation. I called the customer service and told them the situtation... they $#*!ing hang up on me. THEY ARE THE $#*!ING WORST EVER!
We went with fair geeks as they had the cheapest flight from Calgary CA to Japan. Unfortunately I had misread the return flight boarding time and missed the flight back. This is where I had the worst service experience. I called the call centre to explain the situation. At first the call was going fine. Of course I was panicking but the rep seemed helpful at first, going over the situation and looking at options. We were in Nagoya needing to catch the connecting flight in Tokyo. Here's the thing, if we took the bullet train we could get to Tokyo in ample time. However, there are new regulations where if you miss the first flight of your itinerary there is a chance they won't let you on the rest. Kind of odd, but nonetheless that was fine, no problem.
What the real issue was was the fact the rep then kept going in circles advising that the airline, aircanada wouldn't be able to do anything and they would advise to contact faregeeks. Then went about advising the ticket has to be cancelled and a new one bought. Then he went over options different flight plans blah blah blah... slowly the once seemingly helpful rep starting to annoy me. As I tried to confirm that this was the only option I have and that then I would contact aircanada just to be sure, he kept stalling saying, "wait, there may be another option". He then had the nerve to advise they have a flight from Tokyo (my original flight) and the price would be $2100. It was such a pointless, redundant conversation all while costing me $2.50/min in roaming charges.
Anyway, called aircanada, they were quick and completely changed the whole flight (just so we don't take the risk of getting denied entry since we missed the first part of the itenerary), and $200 change fee which no problem since it was my fault for not confirming the flight time and away we went.
So faregeeks did have the cheap flight and I'm not knocking that... just the terrible service received as I'm sure all of you who rated these guys 1 star have experienced. For that 1 frustrating episode I won't use these guys again even if they have a slightly lower price... just not worth it.
A few saved bucks is not worth the headache. Just don't do it. There's enough reviews on here and there is no use adding my own. I've dealt with a headache and now I'm flightless for my trip in 3 days.
Lesson learned. NEVER again.
Put in all of my card details, clicked confirm and then the site redirected me to the homepage or something. No confirmation e-mail, no confirmation number, no error message. Not a reliable website.
We won't use them again! We booked tickets and got confirmation of reservation. 5 days later got an email saying it had been cancelled. The call center confirmed cancellation and passed the blame - first to the airlines and then next to the supplier. In the conversation there was no "I'm sorry," or "I'll see if I can find another flight."
Do NOT use this site! They are a scam. I booked tickets for them for a price, then stayed on the phones with them for days(while the prices were going up) trying to validate billing phone number(that's what they were claiming even though the credit card confirmed for them that everything was fine). They finally said that they will issue the tickets, but it never happened. When I called to ask them why they didn't issue the tickets, they said the charge could not be processed and the fare expired in the meantime. They wanted to transfer me to some other department for some other round of calls and days spend with them to buy some other tickets at another higher price. They are a rip off. Stay away! I wish I would've read the reviews before buying from them!
Answer: Stay away, look at my review. These guys are crooks
Answer: Sorry to hear about your mother Laura. We should all report them!
Answer: It depends on the airline not on fare geek, but don't book with this company if you can manage not to. They are literally liars, and I hope I don't run into Yu's problem because I just cancelled my flight with them.
