FareScam!
June 4, 2015

FareGeek is utterly dishonest and incompetent. I booked a ticket at an advertised price, then when I called a minute later to confirm it, the price jumped nearly $100 because of "unforeseeable circumstances." They sent me a confirmation but no ticket. Approaching the date of departure, I still had received no ticket. When I called again, I was informed that I'd have to pay another $170. These people are bold liars, unrepentant, and totally untrustworthy. I'm reporting them to the New York Consumer Protection Board.

Search for tickets on skyscanner.com ended up on bookairfare.com(which is the same agency - faregeek.com)
Bought tickets - my bank saw transaction and thank God they declined it. I got an email saying my CC was declined which was true story. I called the bank to let them charge it again. Called the agency - they said, ok wait for a few hours we will run it. A few hours later - nothing. Called again - they said - CC is declined. I called my bank and ask to be on hold, called to their agency, merged all calls(you can do it on android via menu option -> merge calls) after that I had 3 people on the phone - me, bank and them. He had no way, but just to confirm that now it's gonna be fine and he will also send me an email to authorize for new charge.
That's how I got to know that they are faregeek.com - because I received an email from *******@faregeek.com
By the way, they asked for $85 more for per person. I agreed.
A couple of hours later - nothing. No ticket, no charge at bank. Wrote an email to Josh - is everything ok?
He confirmed - everything is Ok.
I called them again - I get the same - you CC was declined. Ok, please book it. Sorry, no more seats on that flight, please buy another one. Sure - fine, go ahead. Ok, price increase by $200 each. No thanks, I don't want it. Fine, we will find you some discount. $100 reduced. Fine - go for it.
Sir, actually - I want it to be cancelled. Phone hang up.
Call again - ask for my status. I'm getting you have been processed. I'm asking for which flight? On 29th or 31th? I'm getting 29th. (original date for flight). I explain the situation and describing that it's too much of misinformation for such short period of time. I'm asking for trip cancellation for all my tickets. I'm getting - sir, it's $200 cancellation fee per person. I say - no way, you can't do that.
He assured me that all is OK now and I don't need to cancel it.
I call the bank to ask if there are any charges. No charges and no attempts. I close my CC, ask for new one.
Done.
I guess their business model is explained right now. THey will
1)Cancel you flight if you pay
2)make all sorts of excuses to ask for price raise
3)Waste your time, so you call them later and they will surprise you with new charges.

As soon as you do something with them, call them, get some information, hang up the phone, call again and confirm that information. That's how you start getting misinformation, hence it's all scam.

Purchased a ticket, bottom line. The system gave me a price, and then when charge card came, there was a charge for $5.00 additional dollars. It is the principle... i called, the first time, they wanted to give me a coupon for 10.00, i said no, they hung up on me. Called back, again tried to give me a coupon, 3rd time they gave me some line of how after i bought the ticket, the tax and fees went up. So they charged me the $5.00. This is on a separate charge of the 5.00 so you may not notice it. I am now on hold and this is my 6th time calling them. I will not give them my account number again, who knows what else they might charge? I am having them mail me a check, 7-14 business days. Lets see if i get it. And this was illegal

Great company
June 3, 2015

I booked with them 2 years ago 5 tickets. I got scared after reading the reviews so I called the airline and confirmed. Everything was fine.
This year I decided to use them again since I was getting 6 tickets and their prices were the lowest by far. My credit card didn't go thru because they thought it was fraud so credit card blocked it. Faregeek people were so nice they called me and told me that they couldn't process the payment and they were waiting for me to call the credit card company and unblock my card. I just called united today to confirm my tickets and everything was fine again. I don't understand why they have so low reviews.

I have purchased Aeroflot ticket using their website. I called to Aeroflot to cancel return ticket. I have talked to 3 different agents, very professional people, every single agent confirmed that under Aeroflot rules you can cancel your unused ticket, airfare is non-refundable but all taxes and fees are fully refundable, but in order to receive that refund I have to contact directly FareGeek. I have been told by 3 different agents (Kevin 1172, Druw 0198, and 3rd one hang up on me without giving me his info) that neither airfare nor taxes and fees are refundable by Aeroflot rules, and that is not true. Aeroflot told me that thats might be their own policy but they don't wanna disclose it. Anyway, this was the last time I have purchased ticket from those idiots, and unfortunately I have already purchased 3 tickets from them. I will try to dispute this transaction with my credit card company. I will not let this low class company, operated by agents from India steal my money.

I was excited to see that flights from JFK to Moscow were running about $397. I compared a few sites, and Faregeek came in at $395. I booked two tickets on a Tuesday evening. On Thursday morning I received an email from Faregeek informing me that my credit card was declined. I called Discover immediately, and was told they did not decline any charges on my card, and a charge from Faregeek had never even come through. So I called Faregeek immediately and explained what Discover told me. The customer service rep didn't know why it was declined, but it was and I would have to rebook. The flight price he quoted me was almost $200 higher than what I originally booked. I declined and he offered me a lower price that was still about $100 more than the originally advertised price. I had several other travel sites pulled up, all of which offered the original $397 price. I told him that and said I was going with one of them. I hung up and booked immediately with Kayak. Later that same day I checked Faregeek again on a whim, just to see what price they were advertising. They again had the $395 price listed. I think they are very dishonest, and wouldn't recommend this site to anyone.

Beware! They tricked us by advertising the very cheap ticket prices, and I fell into it.
After we paid for the tickets, they confirmed back with the lower class tickets but higher prices than what we agreed. So, we called them back, and tried to get the situation resolved. They didn't help us at all, so we ended up cancel the transactions. They canceled part of the transaction and left $1550 for service fee which they said it not refundable. We tried to dispute the amount, but we couldn't. Conclusion, I lost $1550 for NOTHING!

After reading reviews, I called JetBlue and they confirmed my reservation. The agent sent me the itinerary. There was only one glitch in that I did not have a selected seat on one leg of my flights. That was easily fixed. I was leery, but it appears that faregeek worked fine for me. It was cheaper than other sites I had used (cheapoair, etc.). When I checked, it was the exact price of a direct booking with the airline.

Booked a flight through here, got the confirmation email. The next day got an email saying my credit card was declined. A week later they sent me a successfully canceled email. We called the airlines & they had said whoever booked it through faregeek canceled my flight with my credit card info and took the money.

I have to say we were very concerned with all the negative reviews on here, however they had the best price anywhere, and our trip to see our son for his Marine graduation, was flawless.

Stay away. They will charge your credit card without your authorization and good luck with fighting for refund. Bunch of stupid in offshore support can't speak or understand what you ask for.

Forget your money if you've to cancel your tickets. Work with credit card company for dispute.

They should be blocked doing business in U.S.

MORONS AND THIEVES
May 20, 2015

Faregeek it's a really bad company I made a reservation for four people. They charged me 5 tickets instead of 4 tickets. Not only that but they charge me $100 extra for a mistake that they made and they will argue with you. If you ask to speak to a manager good luck because they will not let you speak to a manager. So please don't think twice think 3 or 4 times before you make any reservations with them. They have really really bad customer service.

I think I've figured it out - these people are actually like robots. At their training sessions they are actually told to answer each question with the same answer. Eg. I asked to speak to a supervisor - response "they are on a break". Hung up - called back 1/2 hour later - told the same thing - called back every day after that and told the same thing. Eg. I asked the status of my refund - told to wait 24 hours - it would be back in my account. 24 hours later called back to say I had not yet received it. Now they tell me to wait 72 hours. This is almost funny. Eg. Was told my refund was deposited back to my account and to check with my bank - checked with my bank - you guessed it - NOTHING. Now I am on hold again waiting for CHARLOTTE - as she is the "supervisor" for these types of refunds. But I'm on hold because "she's on break". I asked them if they read there reviews on-line because they are pathetic. I'm told by BEN that "no one writes good reviews". Wow are you guys living in the 18th century. I told him to read some of the reviews on the other travel sites. Maybe they don't know how to access the other sites.

Double Booked
May 4, 2015

I recently bought a flight through faregeek (like many other people on this site, I was redirected through them unknowingly). They charged me for two tickets on the same flight at the same time... been on the phone with both American Express and Faregeek probably about 20 times from the day of the transaction saying that the second charge was fraud and unauthorized by me... however, since they issued two tickets, the charge hasn´t been lifted and so on. Even though Faregeek was the one to issue the second ticket, they wanted me to pay a $300 cancellation fee to get rid of the second ticket and ´potentially get a refund. ´ Ha. I will not be paying those charges.

Now I´m nervous about the flight... I have a confirmation number and an e-ticket number through Lufthansa, but I keep seeing all of these cancellation reviews. My card was charged and my e-ticket was issued, and my flight is confirmed through the Lufthansa site (with e-ticket number and everything). Is it still possible that they can cancel my reservation last minute, even after I have been charged and have the e-ticket and confirmation number?

Ordered tickets through Faregeek on the Tripadvisor web site, HUGE MISTAKE - (why TA allows these scammers on their site is outrageous) Anyway, we decided to cancel our booking a day later and asked for their cancellation policy. They said they can only give it over the phone...? I emailed repeatedly and by phone of our desire to cancel the booking and to see their cancellation policy. They refused to provide it. We booked for Dec it's only April now. I have repeatedly asked them to confirm our cancellation and also that we do not expect to see any charges from them on our cc. Still nothing from them. To be safe we cancelled our cc. Our financial institution tells us FG is extremely shady, company phone numbers don't match region of business advertised etc. They never update posted pricing till you book etc. BEWARE. I have also told Tripadvisor they need to remove them from their website because it reflects poorly on them too. FOLLOW UP - Tripadvisor went to bat for us and FG cancelled our flight at N/C. Praise God alone for that!
