Purchased movie tickets through Fandango on my phone today, received a message saying there was a problem with my card and that the purchase didn't go through, but "not to worry, your card won't be charged". Knowing it is not a problem with my card, but assuming the problem was on their end, I repurchased the tickets successfully with Visa Pay. When I went into my email, sure enough BOTH transactions had gone through and my card was charged for BOTH! I tried to get a refund through the "can't make the show" link, but it would not refund the entire purchase, Fandango wanted to keep my $4.50 service charge, so I promptly opened the customer service chat. The representative I spoke with, Adam, offered a credit for which they could refund the entire amount in the form of a credit for future movies. Not being a frequent movie-goer, I didn't want a credit. In the end I opted to take a refund minus the $4.50 service charge... which begs the question WHAT SERVICE, Fandango did NOTHING to help me. Instead they helped themselves to two service charges because their crummy app doesn't work and sends out false messages saying that the transaction didn't go through prompting customers to purchase twice. Next time I will purchase my tickets direct through the theater's online app. Boo Fandango!

Fandango movie tickets customer service representative Kaitlin is very rude and unprofessional. They are a bunch of rip offs. They have no refund policy whether it be tickets or money back. Shame on you and Im a first time customer. I will never ever use fandango again.

July 23, 2018

I ordered tickets and couldn't make the show so I gave a whole days notice and they would not refund or exchange for a later movie show, so basically they robbed me without a gun. WILL NEVER SHOW FANDANGO AGAIN.

Getting an error message that just says try again later. Well three weeks later and we still have to try again later. Call the service line at 6:52 the first time. Hour on hold we asked for a call back. In bed at 10:55 we got the call back. Called two days later at 6:07, got a call back six hours later after midnight. We will just take our business elsewhere. What a joke

I have always bought movie tickets with fandango. This last time their app redirected me to a webpage and changed the day of purchase. I called for an exchange but since it was after showtime they had no ability to help. They would not do a courtesy of a one time exchange for a faithful customee

A couple years ago, Fandango charged me twice for the same purchase. I initially went through customer service and politely gave them all the details to refund the extra purchase. I didn't get a reply for a couple weeks so followed up and was told by the rep that she would have to talk to her manager. Another week went by and I didn't hear anything so I disputed the charge with my credit card company. Soon after, I attempted to log into my Fandango account and was locked out. Upon contacting customer service again, the woman essentially told me that because I disputed a charge, they had the right to block my Fandango membership. Ridiculous!

So I created another account with a different email address. Fast forward a couple years and I recently noticed that my past 2 purchases didn't have my convenience fee waived for AMC theater purchases, despite being a AMC Stubs member. I currently am on hold with customer service, but after initially being accused of not properly logging into my account when I made the purchases (and thus the Stubs membership number must not have been entered) they are telling me they can only waive 1 of those fees, not both.

No loyalty to their loyal customers. The only reason I choose to keep doing business with this frustrating company is that my idiot friends keep buying me Fandango gift cards.

Most terrible customer service Ive ever received. I purchased tickets to a movie and went to the wrong location, therefore ended up having to buy the tickets again at the right theater. When I called fandango back for a refund they refused to do anything what so ever for me as a customer. I spoke to a rep there that was rude as can be, then when I asked to speak to her supervisor she was apparently unavailable at the moment but would call back. The supervisor called back and was no help what so ever. Wont be using this money stealing business for movie tickets again.

Online support dropped me 3x and finslly reached support person named Dajah who refused to help me get credit on one of three tickets for afternoon show I was not able to make due to illness, he actuslly disconnected me because he could not or would not help after close to two hrs of waiting. Im furious and disgusted with these awful customer service

Walked up to my local theater and handed them my gift cards, and was told "you can only redeem them on the internet". Great. Two weeks later, next movie, I redeemed them on the internet. You have to choose your movie theater and time--don't miss it or you're out of luck. And oh yeah, the "simple and convenient" service charge of $1.50 per movie ticket? These people suck, don't ever use them.

I am trying to use a fandango gift card to purchase tickets. I am getting charged a convenience fee for each ticket of $1.50. Bogus! This is a gift card! It is general seating. I don't get to skip a line or reserve a seat. What is my convenience for having to spend time going online, ordering the tickets and then having to stand in line to show them my tickets. Fandango, YOU SUCK!

Was on hold for over 40 minutes to get a refund before the movie started and they told me its after the movie showtime. What a scam this company is. They should be reported to the BBC and investigated for fraudulent business practices. Do not waste your money and time. I hope this company goes bankrupt!

You are the worst Fandango! You completely suck. Really bad. Misrepresents wait times for on line chat. Said it would be 5 minutes, then kept changing. 45 minutes later I got assistance from someone who could not help me with a basic request that could easily be accommodated at a theater. Called the phone number and waited for over 30 minutes with no answer.

Sure, you can earn rewards, but they give you like a week or 2 to use them or lose them. NO COMPANY that offers you rewards for being loyal takes them away so quickly. What a JOKE! I have a large family and would like to build up a balance that actually makes a difference in the pocket book besides $6. "This summer, rack up 150 VIP+ Points for every ticket you buy." RACK UP? You get 14 days to rack up on a promotion that is for the whole summer?

Don't Use Fandango

Purchased 4 tickets to Jurasic World and never got the confirmation. However, my account was charged. I went on their CHAT line and was told there were 49 ahead of me. When it got to me it told me that there was no longer an agent available. Have been phone line waiting for 40 minutes and still on hold. Keeps telling me to check my VIP account. VIP account does not show the purchase but my paypal account does. I will never use Fandango again. Save yourself the headache and purchase your tickets at the theater.

I have emailed customer support multiple times because I rented a movie and the file wouldn't play. I'm an IT professional, so I know my system was working fine and would play other movies. They never responded, all automated responses that kept telling me they are overwhelmed and apologize for not responding... for over 2 weeks! I will never give them any more of my money and I hope you don't either. This is ridiculous. I wish I could give zero stars.

Used the service through Flixter rather than buying tickets directly from the theater... unfortunately we couldn't make the movie and they refused to give me a credit or refund. Also waited forever to get ahold of a customer service rep.

I had paid for movie tickets far in advance. I had stopped at a store but my car wouldnt restart. We called Fandango to get a refund but was on hold for 45 minutes. We tried the option of having Fandango call us back but no calls ever came. We tried several times to call them but was left on hold for long wait periods. The movie time came and went and still no contact. Their policy is to provide you a refund if you contact them before the movie starts. Their refund department must consist of one employee to man the phones. They are really good at taking your money though. Fandontusethem or use at your own risk. Im out $36!

We bought tickets for a movie the Fandango did not have it listed as a Sensory move for children with sensory issues. If we had know we would have bought tickets for a different time. We where unable to hear the move. Fandango said it was not there problem. I will never buy tickets from them again.
