I plan on writting bad reviews for months to come hoping to shut this scam down. Like the last review i also tried to get a refund and couldn't. Same story different person.
I purchased tickets for my brother my mother and myself to see the movie Halloween October 19,2018. Accidentally, I chose the wrong day. I chose Thursday but meant to chose Friday (the actual day the movie aired). I noticed an hour before the actual showtime so I figure to myself no biggie I can call fandango and speak to a customer service representative and just refund (if no available tickets) or change the date. I called and noticed the system say all reps were busy to high calls and the waiting time to speak to someone exceeded 5 mins. I told myself I'd wait. 5 minutes turned into 10,10 turned into 20,20 turned into 30 and so forth until it reaches 8:30 the time I chose for the movie. NOW IM FURIOUS. How do you promise a refund to customers but have the worst customer service and have the bogus policy that you can't be refunded after the showtime. ITS ALL A SCAM. I will never in my life pay for my tickets through the fandango app again. No respect and appreciation for the customers.
THey get ZERO stars... horrible customer service. I have been an avid movie goer for 50 years and this is the first time and last time I will ever use the ticketing service of FANDANGO... printed out their tickets and box office said they weren't good... had to go to car to retrieve phone to find email to find ticket to them go back into theatre... missed the first 15 minutes screwing around with this... and when I contacted FANDANGO the $#*! on the phone could have cared less... never again... no even an I'm sorry for your inconvenience. He suggested that I didn't know how to buy a ticket... anywho,,, their customer service department doesn't exist so don't stay on line with them... (funny enough it said the wait would be 3.2 minutes and it was 10.7 minutes!)... never again.
Be warned that if you ever cancel the ticket and they don't see that you did, they will not refund you the money when you talk to customer service about it later. Make sure you get an email with the confirmation that it got canceled. This is horrible customer service in this day and age. Are they so big that they can't refund $12.50 to a good customer? That seems to be the case.
Asked for refund... spoke to supervisor Shaun... he told me i can get my refund in 5 months! Then he said just forget about the money... they are stealing... 5 months! Idiots
Fandango has a terrible website and app. Hardly ever connects and always has an error. On top of that, when it's "working", it's running horribly slow. I really wish it would work to make things easier, but it just doesn't. Fandango is a total let down.
What a joke when the representative - Heather - kept saying she was happy to help but actually did nothing! The site is not user friendly and they don't care about making the customer happy
I bought late night tickets to a show and realized I could not make the showing and since it was a few minutes after showtime they would not give me a refund or credit my account, and the customer service rep was very rude I wil NEVER use this crappy website again. They basically just took my money and have no plans of giving it back
They tell you to claim your "rewards" only to find out that you have to purchase more points to get the rewards you supposedly already got. How stupid do they think people actually are? And now, there is a "convenience fee" applied to every ticket you buy. How "convenient" they make it to be ripped off. I boycott companies that purposely delude people. Bye bye, FanScamO
Okay starting using Fandango only because I could build up points towards watching the next movie! But wait here is the catch... YOU HAVE TO WATCH ANOTHER MOVIE WITHIN 14 DAYS AFTER THE INTIAL PURCHASE TO USE REWARDS! What the Hell! I lost $24 rewards due to this clause! The dumbest ever! Never will I use this website again!
The Fandango ticket experience costs more by $3.00 than if I went to the box office and purchased tickets in person. Tickets were $18.00 (seniors) plus $3.00 fee. No fees at the theater, and no long lines. Fandango needs to learn that consumer decisions are not based on losing money. The movie industry is struggling, and Fandango isn't helping close this problem gap. Bottom line Fandango is expensive and should be avoided until they learn that people look for bargains and not being ripped off.
I purchased tickets on line. Paid extra $6 for the service fee, which is fine. Tried to redeem my fandango gift card 3 times with the correct info. Had to start three times since the time had expired.
Finally, paid the full price without redeeming my gift card. Guess what? It went through without any problem. Chapter two - in the movie theatre, gave them the credit card I paid with. They couldn't find my tickets. Send me to another person... the saga continued for 5 more minutes. What a waist of my time! Never using fandango again or giving anybody a fandango gift card. I am done!
As I saw the ratings and other reviews of fandango, I confirmed my thoughts about the business of this place. They steal people's money defining it as a service fee. Horrible and unprofessional customer service. I will never purchase tickets through the fandango website again! When the tickets are cancelled within a minute due to wrong date, they refund only the ticket money and not the "service fee". They don't care whether the customer is satisfied with the ticket purchase. Instead, they only aim for the "service fees" to run their business.
I purchased a matinee ticket for a theatre in another state from where I live as I was on a road trip and planning down time. When I arrived at the theatre it was closed and the first show time was that evening. When I returned home from my trip I contacted Fandango for a refund. They refused as my request wasn't made before the movie time. How would I know I needed a refund as the movie time didn't exist until the movie time arrived. Totally their mistake for selling me a ticket for a showtime that didn't exist. Completely dishonest and corrupt company. Next stop: Better Business Bureau
Fandango, review and fix your agreements with your theaters. There is no reason you cannot make an exception for an honest mistake for a ticket on the wrong date purchased by a 12 year old when the theater is not sold out. I will be cancelling my service and using a competitor.
I will never purchase tickets to this site. Me and my husband tried to refund tickets because we had to take care of an emergency situation but they would not refund tickets. They don't care about customers and you can't even speak with a live person... only through chat. Whoever owns this company will have their karma. Do not ever purchase tickets from this website. It's a rip off. Shame on you! I won't even give you a star. Horrible experience!
I purchased a ticket using a promo code, so when i couldn't make that exact showing, i couldn't use their online exchange service. When i called the help line, they put me on hold for 15 min then cut me off. The next time, i waited 45 min with no answer. I tried the live chat, but i kept getting cut off of there as well, which would put me further back in line. I still haven't been helped and at this point it's past the showtime so i don't even know if I'll get a refund without putting up a fight. I will never use Fandango again! I suggest that everyone else take my advice as well, unless, of course, you want to waste an entire day.
Bought tickets but was unable to make show and I did not cancel before showtime. My ticket was not scanned so they should be able to check that. All i got was a corporate response saying sorry, I did not cancel on time
When I bought the tickets i used a gift card. I then threw it out. When i went to app to buy more tickets, there was no balance. These people expect you to use the gift card every time. I've never dealt with a company so crooked.
It helps me pick out my movies quick and easy, some websites suck at sharing movie times and they are usually all sold out
Fandango is a horrible company. I used Groupon tickets to go to a movie on my sister's birthday. It ended up we met friends up at AMC and found out that they changed their seating and now you have to reserve all seats. So some of us had pre-purchased tickets and some did not, but all seats were taken except for the first row, which we said we would take. We couldn't even have to those seats because they couldn't refund us for Groupon and Fandango, so they could recharge us at regular price. I was told by the AMC manager that Fandango would refund my money since we were leaving to go to another theatre, so we could sit together.
I called Fandango right away (in the theatre) and sat on hold for 45 minutes on the way to the other theatre, so I hung up when we had to go in for the show. I called back 3 days later, because I work day and night (2 jobs) and they told me that I called an hour later than I said because they go by Eastern time, so I could not get a refund because it was after the show started.
I was told a supervisor would call me back in 20 minutes because she was on break and I never got a call back.
They can eat my $6.18 and I will never use their service or Groupon (if it has to do with Fandango) ever again.
I work in CS too and I understand that rules are rules, except there are actual loop holes in certain circumstances. They can see I never picked up my tickets and used them. They are thieves.

Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
