I booked a flight a month ago through Explore Trip and promptly received a confirmation e-mail with my bookings. I went online to check-in for my flight the day before only to find that my reservation had never been fully processed. I went back to my confirmation email from Explore Trip to find that they had sent a response to my confirmation email noting that they weren't able to successfully process my booking. It was hidden and easily looked over. I never received a call or a separate e-mail specifying that my flight wasn't booked (the e-mail subject line was "Booking Information," so there was nothing that grabbed my attention and alerted me that my booking didn't go through). It's worth noting that the flights had doubled in price since I booked.
Tried calling their customer service for help, hopeful that they would want to assist. I explained the situation and they were completely apathetic. No help at all. When I asked to talk to the manager, he blew me off.
I'm extremely disappointed in Explore Trip as well as their customer service. Will NEVER be using their service again.
They only know one thing. How to milk money from their customers. Bunch of jokers sitting in a BPO and trying different tricks to pull money.
Try out cancellation or reschedule process with them, you will get to know their reality.
Truly easy. And helpful. From the moment I called Phillip brown was the most respectful person I have ever dealt with.
I booked a flight and printed out what I thought was the confirmation. The next day I noticed I hadn't received a confirmation e-mail so I called to double check. They said they didn't book my flight because by the time they got to booking the price had gone up. I received no notification from them, and when I was having trouble understanding what the man was saying, he hung up on me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I just call to check my new shuttle and the costumer services was excellent, very courtesy and professional.
Thank you
This is one of the worst flying experience I ever had! I booked through skyscanner and went for the cheapest option. I got what I paid for!
My flight was from Boston to San Francisco and it was cancelled due to bad weather. I called virgin america and was told I have to talk to the third party. I called Explore Trip and had the worst customer service ever. I'm assuming their support is in India since the English was pretty bad.
First they claimed my flight was not cancelled, took me about 5 minuted to convinced them i'm at the airport right now and it is cancelled. Then they claimed they will send me a ticket for a flight the next day. And when I asked about an earlier flight and start getting mad they hanged up!
I had to call again, this time he was nicer and said there are no earlier flights (although virgins website showed a flight 2 hours before the one they rebooked). I got the itinerary and made all the arrangements.
Of vourse I got no hotel, food or even taxi reimbursement. Nothing!
The next day I come to the desk since I couldn't check in online just to find out that although they sent me an itinerary, they never actually switched the flight!
The guy at the desk told me I have to go and talk to them again!
Luckily he saw how miserable I was and he said it's not the first time it happens with them, especially since Alaska bought Virgin America, and he helped me out.
Dealing with ExploreTrip was a nightmare, from now on I don't care if they are the cheapest website. You definitely get what you pay for.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from them!
Don't give these crooks or flyfar any of your money. Been sent to them through skyscanner before. I booked a ticket and got an email saying a receipt and e-ticket would be issued within 24hours. Waited 24 hours and nothing. Also had no charge on my debit card, so I went ahead and tried again through the airline (which was actually cheaper... surprise). About a week later, the charge went through, and when I noticed I immediately called the company. After being on hold for nearly 4 hours, I was hung up on... twice... while talking to a combative agent, who told me my ticket was non-refundable. Then they didn't send it to me anyway. I filed a claim with VISA to have the charge reversed. Customer service called and told me I owed them for the ticket. They said they'd talked to my bank about the situation and the bank had referred them to me. When I talked to my credit union they said they hadn't received a call from the vendor and that visa had reversed the charge because of the strange way the company deals with credit card transactions. When called by the company they threatened to send my info to collections and I told them I was going to speak with my lawyer. Consulting with my lawyer I was told they were employing intimidation tactics and to ignore them. Haven't heard back from the company and have never been approached by a collection agency.
Terrible and Dishonest Company.
The staff from Explore Trip employees to upper management are unprofessional and dishonest people.
I have cancelled my flight within company policies. I was told that it would take 3 to 4 weeks to receive my money back. Explore Trip delayed my refund for 2 months. I had complained to resolutions department at Explore Trip *******@exploretrip.com. They didn't have a courtesy even to reply back to me. I have contacted the airline I was booked with. British Airway replied to me that Explore Trip have never contacted them to submit my cancellation. Leiers, crooks and thieves.
There is no place for Explore Trip being in customer service period.
They have to be shut down and put out of they business misery by the authorities.
Not only was the emailed itinerary from exploretrip unhelpful when using those reference numbers to check in for my online flight, which as of this time, I still can't. But the only way I learned of the delay in my flight was from me manually checking that airline's website.
CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSED TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.
I called exploretrip today to find out about changing my connection flight, since i would miss it because of the delay in the first leg of my flight.
I spoke to a representative who was hasty, impatient and unhelpful. I had to ask him to repeat my connection information (that was changed) so I could write it down. I then asked for the flight # TWICE and he refused to give that information and sounded exasperated over the phone.
He said I would need to wait until I get it in an email. And that I couldn't check in on the airline. I asked him how long I would have to wait until checking in on the airline. He refused to answer this.
I also mentioned that I wanted to check in on-line at the airline's website, and the reference #s were not working. He refused to help me with this and only admonished me and said that I need to wait some time, which I told him I understood. BUT DUDE I NEED WORKING REFERENCE NUMBERS.
He was irritated by me, when I was trying to keep my composure during a conversation with a very rude customer service representative. And to conclude the conversation, he returned to his forced script of thanking me for calling but it was muttered under his breath, and a definite departure of how he was talking earlier.
Booked a trip through Sky Scanner, sent to Explore Trip to finalize. Worried about a short layover, tried to change part of the flight...$350. Change fee per person! Asked what would happen if we missed connecting flight... we would lose our entire flight arrangements, going and returning! Lost $1,000 in travel arrangements... WORST SITE EVER!
I purchased a ticket with this company and received a confirmation. Hours later I was told that my credit card was declined. I emailed them asking them to try again and never got a reply. I sent them 3 emails on the next 48 hours, finally when I called them they told me that my reservation was cancelled, the reasons given were confusing and ambigous making it sound like the representatives were lying. At the end they offered me a new ticket (at 3 times the price of the original one, which I considered an insult). I gave up and decided to look elsewhere. All of their Costumer Service is based in India.
Very useless people, they never answer their phone and take almost 5 days to respond to emails, except you are a first time customer. I tried to change the dates on my ticket, i was told i will first pay $400 for it minus the difference in dates, then they stopped responding and they made me loose it from not responding to either calls or mails again, till they told me i couldn't use the ticket anymore. No one and i repeat, no one should be fooled by their 'so called' cheap tickets.
I have been trying to contact their customer support the whole day and no one is picking up or answering emails.
Website is missing crucial information such as the fact that there is no cancelation insurance available in Quebec and when you speak to an agent they lie through their teeth and assure you that as soon as you enter submit and pay the fare all will be magically fixed. This is the worst travel site i have ever used.
Explore Trip has the worst customer service ever! If you just want to book a cheap flight by all means book it because it has amazing prices but if your going to have questions about a ticket your getting don't get it! It took me a whole week to get someone on the phone and if your on hold for more then 10 min they hang up your call! So i emailed 4 times with my questions and still my questions weren't answered they told me to go directly to the airline when i brought my ticket through them! I finally tried to get someone again on the phone and talked to 3 people and they gave me 3 different answers about my question so who is right?! Just horrible!
I purchased 2 tickets (JFK to CDG) via Kayak, which rerouted me to the ExploreTrip site. I immediately received a confirmation email - but my credit card was not charged and the PNR number didn't work on the British Airways website.
Since the flight was VERY cheap, I read a few reviews, and then called ExploreTrip to confirm. Seems like you pretty much always need to call and confirm to make sure your ticket gets issued. I waited on hold for 13 minutes, at which point a very nice (yes, Indian) woman helped me out. My fare had gone up $74 (total for both itineraries), and she asked I email the explore trip email address to confirm I was okay with the fare rise. Honestly, I wasn't surprised, it was just SO cheap when I booked it but still a great deal.
I emailed, with her still on the line, she saw the email come in and then issued the ticket. I got a new email from them, with a working PNR, and I immediately went to the British Airways site to choose my seats. The whole process took about 45 minutes, but worth the $400+ I saved in a cheaper fare.
This company is total fraud. I booked my tickets and wanted to cancel them. I called them within 2 hrs of booking and was told by the person on the phone that I have to send an email request for cancellation, and it will be done within 30 mins. After 2 hrs of waiting I called again and now it seems rules have suddenly changed. Now, I have passed my cancellation window and will incur airline cancellation charges. In addition, 24 hr cancellation period only applies to US customers and Canadian customers does not have this policy. I was billed in US dollars and by US registered company... go figure this out.
Customer services persons tell lies to you on the phone. Though the site is registered in USA, they are completely based out of India and it seems US laws does not apply. No US customer support. More over, their policy states...
"All legal disputes will be settled under the laws of Indian courts subject to laws of Republic of India"
If you want your hard earned money to not go waste... stay away from this website. Not worth the trouble. Seems like a the 5 star reviews are fake.
Got forwarded to Explore Trip from Sky scanner. First, they forgot my meal and window preference (I'm vegetarian). I understand there is only so much you can do about the seat but eating plain rice for 12 hours wasn't much fun. The bonus was when i showed at the destination and was missing 2 batteries from my photography, lighting kit.The airline (Air China) removed the batteries as hazardous materials and are still missing (the batteries are $500 each) I 've been flying with lighting kits for many years and that never happened before. When I called Explore Trip they said they have nothing to do with it and offered zero solutions. I won't use Explore Trip or fly with Air China ever again.
In October I booked a December flight from PDX to TUC with ExploreTrip through Skyscanner portal for $274. Alaska Airlines cancelled the trip and provided refunds to their passengers. I called numerous times and couldn't get through the ExploreTrip so I went through their email and was told that I should obtain a voucher for the trip even though I walked them through the process that Alaska help desk provided. There was a 72 hour window to get a refund from Alaska and ExploreTrip did not follow through. When I finally got someone in Cancellation department, they said they were pursuing it and hung up on me. I never got a refund.
I purchased tickets on Explore Trip from BWI to Barcelona which were hundreds cheaper than any other site. As soon as I purchased online I received a record locator number but no ticket numbers. I started reading the site reviews and saw all the scam alerts and began to panic about losing all my money. I called the service number, waited a while and then spoke to an agent with an Indian accent, just like the reviews had warned. But then... surprise! Everything was fine, I received my ticket numbers and was prompted to call the carrier in order to select seats, which i did. The carrier had all my information, everything was legitimate. My family and I are good to go and we saved over $1000 on these three RT tickets.
