Been a member of Expedia since 2003. Over the years, we used Expedia for airline tickets, hotel reservations, car reservations, and vacation packages. Always great prices and excellent deals!
They do not understand your need and have to get help from their supervisors to understand your question.
I book all of my trips through them because I can get the best deal around and I can also view the photos of hotels. I can also review past guest experiences with the hotels which is the best of all!
I like Expedia and have had good experiences except for one time - I don't want to focus on the negative, but I think it is important to know this because we certainly weren't prepared when it happened to us. We had an emergency and had to change our flight. We had even paid extra for the insurance - but they couldn't help us get another flight without paying full price! We were told we would have to get a refund for the first flight separately. When we called the airline that Expedia had booked us with - they couldn't do anything because we were Expedia customers. So we were in limbo, with nobody helping us and ended up having to buy new tickets at full price. After it was all over, we did get about half the price of the original ticket refunded to us.
Can find some cracking flight deals on Expedia. Especially if you are prepared to fly from a european hub. Recently booked long haul business class (bad back means no economy this time) with malaysia airlines through expedia, saved approx £700 by flying from Amsterdam rather than manchester (uk taxes very high for long haul). Even with cost of seperate flight to Ams taken into account.
However still awaiting reply from customer services to an enquiry form I submitted approx 4 weeks ago!..
I booked a very reasonably-priced trip to London with a friend via Expedia. We found a lovely hotel right on the bank of the Thames, in a clean and beautiful area half a block from the DLR (part of the Underground system), with a wonderful restaurant (with outdoor seating!), pool, and fitness center. Probably the nicest hotel I ever stayed in, and it was about $50/night once you factored in the cost of the two plane tickets!
I've also had a lot of luck getting less-expensive domestic flights via Expedia.
However, I've tried booking just hotel rooms (no flights) and found that they were either the same price as listed on the hotel's website, or a little bit more expensive.
I always book airline tickets with my first and last name only, or sometimes with my middle initial, but my ID has my full middle name. I fly a hundred times a year and never book a ticket with my middle name. I never book through Expedia.com but that won't matter. I presumed it was something like this but just checking. Thank you.
The deals on Hotel and flight on Expedia are not the best. The fact they are just about the average that you could find anywhere else on Internet.
However their policies and services are very trustworthy so you can be assured you will get everything done nice and clean.

I've worked for an airline and Expedia's staff are one of the MOST stupid you will ever meet. It's like they were never given basic training. AT ALL.
Price wise I suppose it's ok. But it'll be up to the customer to ensure their booking is confirmed/correct and follow up on any airline schedule changes. Good luck to any who have to personally deal with them.
Tried for over an hr to get someone from Expedia to actually talk to on phone, via their ironically named "customer service" department.
After being on hold for about 45 min., i was disconected, and this happened twice!
Can't imagine Expedia can stay in business this way--just awful.
I still use Expedia, even though there are other options. I like their interface. Some airlines don't show up there though, and sometimes less expensive flights can be found on the airline's site or via Kayak. Still, Expedia is super solid.

I will avoid! They can do nothing when you run into a nightmare of problems. We were on the beach sitting in front of a hotel and I looked up the hotel and ended up talking with someone from Expedia. He was very obnoxious, the place I wanted wasn't an option and the place he reserved for us was a joke the room didn't even lock! We couldn't get in and then when we did with help from the front desk then we couldn't shut the door all the way to lock it. No more rooms and we couldn't get a room anywhere else because we paid thru Expedia and they said they couldn't refund. After sending in complaints. I was told then and after i can get another night there for free! What a joke I live in north Carolina and it was in California. Like when will that be?
Decided to purchase two new Android phones from Everbuying as a friend had recently bought one from them.
The phones arrived within 8 days of payment,(very fast shipping).
The phones are very very good and totally as per description on the website, very good quality for such a bargain price.
We are very happy with our purchase and will be shopping at Everbuying for similar items very soon.
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
