Tried to make flight bookings on Expedia online and received a message that the booking was rejected. So called the customer sevice and the agent helped to book the tickets.
A few hours later, received 2 confirmations: both the online and through the call centre. Called Expedia immediately and was on hold for very long and even after speaking with the expedia agent for a very long time was told that I am unable to cancel the double booking. Expedia is telling me to call airline directly. Shouldnt expedia take responsibility?! AND help me to cancel without charge and compensate me for all my trouble and time?! Anyone thinking of booking through expedia should really re-think!
I use Expedia.ca to book hotels and car rentals for the us. The site is easy to navigate and promises the lowest rates! Booking is made easy with a pay now or when you arrive at the hotel. All the hotel are rated by past customers so you have an idea of what to expect. Confirmation is sent to your email. I have had to cancel and reschedule a reservation once the transaction was completed by Expedia with no extra to cost. I highly recommend!
I have been trying to book Bargan Fare from SEA to SFO on 08/20/16 for 148.52$ for the last three days. I have called 7 times, and each time, I was given a wrong solution telling me to either try again later, or call back because Expedia was doing an update. I have delayed booking a flight for three days because of this and now all tickets are much more expensive. The last call I was on as well as the one I am on now (been on hold for over 30 min) the rep did not even care to clearly understand the problem. This is the WORST customer service I have ever gotten, really, from a large company such as Expedia. I can not not believe out 7 people, no one cared enough to try to truly resolve the problem. I can not be the only one who is experiencing this. Doesn't Expedia have a technical department, doesn't Expedia has teams that deal with problems like this. All what I have been getting is "we can not book bargan fare for you, you have to do it online, do you want to try it now". Right, I get this response, after I spent 10 minutes each time explaining how your website is giving me an error. Wow. I will spread this word to anyone I can so people do not have to go the same terrible experience.
Terrible customer service! We booked a bundled flight package and needed to make an emergency change TO ONE TICKET. JetBlue is saying we can make the change and even gave us a Divided Reservation confirmation number to give to Expedia; because Expedia has to make the changes. Every person we've spoken to with Expedia's customer service says the airline is telling them per "airline" policy they can't. Liars and crooks. Even with a confirmation number from the JetBlue itself, Expedia wont make the change.
I've found Expedia a good place to shop for travel. Sometimes I book with them and others I start by shopping there and then booking with the airline, hotel or car rental vendor directly.
Found a great hotel and got the flights with them from Manchester. All went well, hotel Kajatanokka was amazing and at a very reasonable price bearing in mind Finland is a very expensive country to live in. Plus the hotel is a former prison so that adds to the fun! Also booked a trip to Tallinn, Estonia that ran on time and was well worth the visit. Do go you will love it!

Photos in site are for renovated rooms, NOT the rooms that were advertised for booking. Buyer beware, room was like something out of 1980, mold in bathroom and furniture so worn and chipped they likely could not give it away.
I went to Expedia's website to book a last minute flight (next day). To my surprise there are two red eye flights for $170.10. Upon "selecting" these flights, the price jumps to $900+. I work on e-com, so I understand "mistakes" happen. I go back to the select a flight page and low and behold the same price for two flights! Assuming this is a problem, I call customer service. Customer service explains that the system didn't update. I have the customer service agent try and book the fight. The customer service agent gets the same result. I then ask to speak with someone who can make this right. I'm transferred to "Carlo" who attempts to explain that the prices are updated in real time. I explain that if it's updated in real time, then I should see the real time price before I hit "select." At this point it's been 40M and the website is still doing the same thing! He explains there is nothing he can do. He precedes to sell me on the much higher flight. I tell him it's a bait and switch and he says it isn't cause the website gives an error. Even as I write this, the website still has the same situation going on, and it's been well over an hour.
Great service, great room, easily handled all over Canada. Including our dog & flights
I used this site to get affordable flight prices a while ago. Expedia made it very easy to choose which flight I wanted at a decent price. Everything from booking to checking in proved to be almost effortless. The only downside was that the connecting flight was pretty small and the seats were all the way in the back row, near the bathroom. Other than that, I'm glad I chose Expedia.
We've used them numerous times for travel outside of the US. Never had a problem and never had to call them for anything.
After being on the phone for over 6 hours and speaking to 7 different people, the $2,597.35 charge to my debit card is still "pending" and I just have to wait until they either charge the money so that my bank can issue a claim or for them to take the hold off. But for now I'm out almost 3K. The "manager" was the worst claiming that the bank placed the HOLD on my card. BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS SITE nor its affiliates, Travelocity, Kayak... alll the same co.
My family and I booked our hotel a month ago in Nashville and it was confirmed. However, as we are on our way to the hotel we thought we booked we get a call saying that they overbooked us, therefore making us have to change our destination and find a new hotel even though we were already on our way to the other one. Thanks so $#*!in much Expedia. You are a big big help, just kidding, $#*! you. I recommend to everyone, do not trust Expedia. I have heard this happen to other people too and now we have experienced as well.
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
