Fake advertising
October 17, 2021

Full of lies. So I bought a ticket recently that seemed legit, and I told myself if was expedia so what could go wrong... Little did I know that the luggages that expedia said were included were not, not even the carry-ons. Once calling to customer service, they just said oh you cannot bring anything, while I had pictures showing otherwise, they said INCLUDED. Customer service was a waste of time. And watch out for the fake advertising, it really sucks, never booking from them again.

Worst booking engine imaginable. Expedia prides themselves on inadequate employees, wrongful bookings, extra charges, lack of communication, long wait times, and no call backs. The only thing Expedia is good at is wasting everyone's time. Dealing with Expedia and their employees is beyond painful. To put things into perspective I rather claw my eyes out with my bare hands than deal with Expedia again. I wouldn't wish this type of customer service on my worst enemy. The only question I have is how is this company still in business?

Charged USD instead of CAD, No Help from Expedia
October 2, 2021

I booked online in Canada and agreed to paying $129.16 Canadian. And I got charged $129.16 in USD so my bill came to $168. I've talked to three different agents and nobody can help me in resolving this issue. I will not be using trivago again and will be sharing this information with friends and family as well.

Expedia protecting and promoting scam companies
September 28, 2021

Expedia's lost its way. They now allow scam car rental companies to include buried small print (have to read the small print, then click through links to see this...) that seems to authorize companies like Economy (DBA JET CAR) to extort unsuspecting expedia customers (who have been quoted a rental price that state "No surprises! All fees and taxes included") for crazy fees at the time that they come to pick up their vehicle. In this case, an "insurance transfer fee" to be able to charge clients who have insurance for their rental (either with their credit card company, car insurance policy or both).
Expedia knows about this and does nothing but defend such obscure, under-handed measures. Shame on you Expedia!

It has been 12 months and they keep finding excuses not to refund me a flight that I canceled!
Even when you ask to speak to a supervisor, they never get back to you!

Please, only if you won a lottery, DO NOT USE EXPEDIA otherwise, you will be just giving your money with nothing in return!

It is a PLEASE
If I have to go through this for you (whoever is reading this) not to, then it is worth it!...

I was told by the Expedia agent that I could cancel my flight within 24 hours and that I would get a full refund. I cancelled within 24 hours and was told that I couldn't get a refund. What the hell? I called several times and was hung up on. I finally spoke to a supervisor who said that they would review the phone conversation and get back to me within three days by phone. 11 days later, I never got a phone call but a brief and inpersonal email saying that I wouldn't get a refund. Nothing but liars and greedy buggars who don't know their head from their butt! Shame on these scrupulous, incompetent people and this terrible company called Expedia for ripping people off and lying to them!

Flight ticket was changed and had to cancel. Refund still hasn't come back even after 10 weeks. Email says 6 to 8 weeks. Now contacting agent is hard cause itinerary number doesn't work. Honest opinion book directly with good airlines rather through travel agency. You ll have a better peace of mind. Rather than being on the phone for cancellation and changes.

FRAUDULENT CAR RENTAL CONFIRMATION BUT NO CAR
August 23, 2021

Last weekend I rented a midsize SUV for a cottage weekend through expedia affiliate Carrentals.com. I prepaid and received confirmation email and even phoned the morning of the day I was supposed to pick up and was told car was ready for me. When I arrived at the rental agency they said they did not have a car available for at least 45 mins. I waited an hour and was told they did not have an SUV but offered a sedan which was unsuitable for my needs. The agency could not tell me if or when they would have an SUV for me that day. I waited another hour and then decided to cancel and make other arrangements. The agency could not give a refund and told me to call CarRentals.com - they also refused to give a refund and kept me on hold for 30 minutes. After almost 2 hours of waiting at the car rental agency they offered me a mini-van which I accepted out of desperation. It was an older vehicle with stained seats and well below standard that one reasonably expects for a rental vehicle. To top it all off, when I looked at my credit card statement after the weekend, I discovered the price I was quoted by CarRentals.com was in USD! Converted to CAD$ it means that I had paid over $600 for a crappy minivan for 3 days. I don't understand how companies such as CarRentals.com and expedia are allowed to operate in Canada - they should be reported to police and shut down.

The first time I called they said I could only receive a travel credit for my cancelled flights even though I called with 24 hours. They said I would have had to of cancelled by 12p.m. The same day to receive a refund. That's not 24 hours. Then I called again, they said to call the Insurance company I had travel insurance with. A cancelled trip is not covered. I called again, they said to call Air Canada. Air Canada said to dispute the charges with the credit card company, there is nothing they can do. Everyone I called gave me the run around. I will never book through them again!

Lousy service
August 19, 2021

Computerized site with no customer assistance. Cancelled a hotel within 2 hours of deadline and Expedia will not help with refund. Crazy times mean extra assistance is sometimes required… this site deserves the lousy rating it receives.

Watch out
August 6, 2021

Recently when you are cancelling your travel arrangement with Expedia, they refer you to the airline for your travel ticket and that's where you are going to be ripped off. They make every effort not to reimburse your money. This new Canadian airline company called Flair is the biggest scam ever.

Full Refund
August 1, 2021

I booked a hotel with Expedia.ca.(Residence Inn Gravenhurst)
It was initially for 7 nights.
It was raining, so after 4 nights we checked out early. I requested a full refund for the remaining 3 nights.
They agreed and said there will be no penalty.
I called when I got home, they were waiting for the O. K. from the hotel.
They even send me an email to let me know that I will get a FULL refund.
Everybody that I was dealing with was very professional and I got exceptional customer service. Special thanks to Kate for the email and receipt.
I used Expedia.ca in the past for flights and vacations and I will use them again.

There was an error on my return flight details which I booked through Expedia.ca. I tried to correct the problem by contacting the carrier but they told me it was an Expedia.ca issue. Have you ever tried to contact Expedia customer care by phone? It's near impossible and you can spend a whole day waiting on hold listening to horrible and distorted music while no-one answers the phone. Shame on you Expedia this is very frustrating. I doubt I will book through you again.

Booking review
July 26, 2021

We booked with Expedia for our family vacation in Penticton BC in February! On our arrival at our motel we were informed we would have to move 2 times on our weeks stay in the motel because of the way Expedia booked our stay in there rooms! The first 2 nights in a upper floor 1 night on a lower floor across the way and the back up to a second floor. You have to understand with luggage and food for a week's beach stay with 2 kids! It was very stressful then you have to wait for the person in that room you are waiting to check out and half your day is gone then you do the whole thing over again! This is the first time that Expedia has done this crap to me and I'm not impressed! Now I know why booking with them seems so easy-to-use?

I have a flight credit for $495.18 and I want to use it for another flight with the same airline but different destination and much cheaper fares which is $340. The agent asked me to pay $105 more for the flight. So instead of using $340 out of my $495, they asked me to pay another $105, so my ticket price will be $600 instead of $340. What kind of business is it?

Following protocols from the government, my family had to cancel our weekend trip and hotel stay as my boys developed COVID symptoms. As my wife booked the hotel through Expedia, I contacted them and had to wait 6 hours for a call back. After getting off the phone I was instructed that Expedia could not cancel the transaction and that I would have to contact the hotel, to request a refund. I contacted the hotel and the gentleman there said that they would not be charging Expedia, due to the circumstances, and therefore we could be reimbursed for the charge. He did say that I would have tp contact Expedia again. Another 3 hours later I got a call back. Was told that it was the hotel's decision and it's policies that dictate refunds. They lied, when I informed them that I had spoken to the hotel, they changed their tune. Expedia claimed that they would be emailing the appeal on my behalf to confirm the refund. The following Sunday, two days later, we were told that the hotel denied our appeal. I called the hotel today, Wednesday, and they informed me that they never received an email appealing the charge
