I write here a complaint with Expedia.ca deplorable handling of my reservation and cancellation.
I purchased a stay with expedia.ca (finally through Vrbo) in Londan ON, for 6 nights. On my visit to the residence, I found out that it had nothing to do with the information on site, nothing at all. While a whole house was advertised, there was nothing more than a 10 sqm2 room, all occupied by a bed. No Swimming pool inside and outside as advertised, and this makes me laugh because it hardly had a shared toilet let alone swimming pool.
Anyhow we quickly got out as the owners spoke English with difficulty and we saw the atmosphere getting somewhat violent

I have paid the full sum of money more than a month ago and although I had to change to a proper residence at a higher cost after the nightmare as explained above.
Do not use Expedia.ca at all!

I made a typo on the name for 1 of the 6 passengers I had in our booking. I called 4 different times and waited on hold for more than 4 hours collectively. I looked high and low for any other methods of communication and requesting a name edit (e.g. Social media, online chat, email, etc.) and the only option to edit contact info was by via phone.

2 out of the 4 times the automated system thankfully gave the option to choose a callback in lieu of waiting on hold. The first time I never received a callback at all and the 2nd time the system called me back just to keep me on hold again for an hour and a half before I just gave up lol. When I did finally get a hold of an agent they promised to resolved it and send me confirmation in 72 hours. You guessed it no callback even 2 weeks later...

Long story short I ended up calling the airline directly and pleaded with them to correct the error instead of pushing me through the booking service (expedia.ca) as per their usual procedure. Was completed in 5min.

Competitive prices for sure but god help you if you ever need help or customer service of any kind. Try and avoid if you can, if not just roll the dice and take your chances.

I can only say that these people are professional thieves especially after they got your money so as soon as you pay you're finished you're doomed they let you know immediately that you have been ripped off
Even if you buy an insurance from them they will tell you this is the number call them we don't give a sh*t about you
Save yourself a lot of headache and waste of money
They will ruin your vacations
They are THIEVES

WORSE experience Ever!

WORSE experience Ever with booking! Their
Agent made a mistake on the date of return and I could cancel and rebook it under 24hrs, they didn't let me and they said No need we'll fix it. They didn't and I couldn't cancel anymore. Me and my girlfriend spend over 8 hrs a day for past
10 days with them, they couldn't do ANYTHING and we had to pay extra to airline
To get it fix at the end!

Expedia is dying?

We have been using Expedia for years. Recently we are trying to use the credit from last year. When we contacted Expedia, the agents spoke English with heavy accent. It was very difficult to understand the instructions. They gave wrong passenger's name and they charge us to correct the problem!

Worst experience ever. Stay away from expedia. Will never use this service again. They take your money but never help you when you have issues. I have been in contact with them for 3 weeks regarding an issue, but they were never able to fix it. I lost my return flight. Stay away

My wife booked ticket and had to cancel then rebook again, but Expedia screwed it and charged money but did not confirm ticket. Then next day when ww inquire, they said pay $99 difference now. We had to pay that then for the return flight which they did not book even after we paid money, they made us to pay difference of $313.95. So for the actual return ticket of $754.55, we paid over $1200 and that too due to their fault. Plus 24+ hours of phone conversations. Whenever you explain whole situation to different people they say you will receive call from supervisor. So we thought supervisor may have some power to compensate or assist us. We did receive call from supervisor and believe me they are TOTAL DUMP. Literally they will hear you and say same thing over and over instead of finding solution or investigating the problem. Finally today we talked to another agent to book the ticket. There are 100% chances that your tickets are not booked even after you pay for it. Honestly pls pls do not use this company for travel bookings. This company is b*$%s$%%t and hard to get sensible person to get assistance.

I have never seen customer support worse than what exists at Expedia.ca. Long, long waits just to eventually (if you're lucky) get to speak to representatives who appear to be poorly trained. I got different answers from each rep I talked to, they were unable to transfer me directly to a supervisor, when I did eventually get to speak to a supervisor he would not give me a contact number or last name, sent me an email from an email address that didn't accept responses and with no return email address where I could contact him directly. He promised to call me back in 3 to 5 business days, but it has now been over a month and I have no way to contact him. Worst experience ever.

Worst Customer support experience

Stay away from this company. All they do is collect your money with zero support. They ripped us off $******* and we still trying to get our issues resolved. 4 months after. Nothing is still resolved. All we get is excuses and no money. Stay clear of this company. No honor to the name

0 stars if I could. Expedia sucks. We were not planning to have a provincial-wide flood where we would be trapped and not be able to go anywhere unless you had a private jet or helicopter. It doesn't matter to them though, even though the army was out rescuing people from various dangerous circumstances, all they care about is keeping our $200 we have saved up and booked through them for a hotel for our 10th anniversary. Sorry but I figure the army needs to help people who are stranded and about to drown rather than take us into their helicopter so we can make it in time to get to our hotel reservation.
Instead of giving us the refund they just kept talking over us and insisting the hotel is right and not the customer. What's the point of booking through expedia if they're not even there to help us out? I thought that was the whole point of their website?

Expedia took our 8000 $ credit!

We cancelled our tickets in March 2000. Now We made 2 calls since November to book for india trip in march 2022. These tickets were send as confirmed booked but no ticket numbers were sent! Now we got to know tickets weren't booked inspite of getting emails of confirmation. Once they said air Canada was at faulty second time system fault. Now the amount we pay about our credit has increased from initial 600CAD to whooping 3600 CAD
Now it looks like they scammed us! Will keep 6000$ and we have no booking!
We want to sue them now

Misleading advertising

15 year Expedia member with 50+ previously booked Expedia flights and now this horrible experience.

I booked a return flight to Casablanca that cannot be changed even though that's what was stated when originally booking online. When i booked it Expedia stated a fee of 230 euros would be incurred if i changed the return flight which was exactly the flexibility i wanted. When i tried to rebook Expedia says nope, not happening. You have to buy a new ticket from the airline? Am now in process of 3 days of emails, phone calls and office visits to resolve this mess. Expedia, I will NEVER book a flight with your company again.

Do not waste your time and money with this company. The little you save is not worth the aggravation down the road. We purchased 3 seats from Barcelona to Toronto, paid more for advance seat selection & the cost of the hotel. When everything was cancelled by the airlines due to covid, the lengthy process to get the refund began. If we had booked directly with the airline, we would have had the refund promptly. However, after MANY hours on the phone with expedia & then 3 months wait for the refund, I received a refund for 1 of the 3 tickets purchased. I called again and was advised by Expedia that it was a decision made by the airline to only refund 1 ticket. I called the airline and they confirmed in writing that they had only received a request for 1 refund. Expedia is a. K. a. Outright Liars. I went back to expedia who this time said it was an oversight on their part and issued yet another case# and said they would take care of it all. It is now almost 12 weeks after (the time period to wait for a refund) and nothing so I called again & the csr said there was no record of this last request & said he would leave a new case# and have a manager call me within 24 hours. We are now on Manager #3 and a year into this. If anyone knows how to reach an executive at Expedia.ca please let me know. Not sure if this will help and being deceitful is a corporate trait that usually starts at the top. I hope this review is read by many. As noted above, RUN don't walk away from this company and all it's subsidiaries. If you don't know, as of today, Expedia now owns Travelocity, Orbitz, Hotels.com, Hotwire, Trivago, CheapTickets and eBookers, among others. Buyers BEWARE!

We bought tickets to travel to Mexico, thru Expedia. On their page there is a option to cancell the ttickets but you have to buy insurance. We did. It is call Global Cancelation plan. Cost us another 112$ on top of everything. It's all nice and roses until you actually need to cancel. You think you are insured and things will go smooth. Well not that easy. First of all, make sure you already eat, went to the bathroom and take a day of so you will be able to catch them on the phone if you are lucky. If you are out of Canada and US, so help you God to find a phone nr that actually works. The customer "support" don't know nothing, the supervisor, boss, comander in chief is always "UNAVAILBLE", instead of fixing the problem they gave you the run arround, and now I have to deal with the insurance company when I bought the insurance at the same time with the tickets on Expedia website. The customer rep gave me a phone nr, and I called while on speaker from another phone and it says number incorect. So here it is for you. If you want to be treated like this, go for it. For me, last time I ever buy or do business with Expedia, and I suggest you do the same.
P.S. Their virtual assistent it's an insult to any person with a 5 plus IQ

Expedia is a scam!

Do NOT book anything through Expedia. I made the mistake once and will never again. They completely messed up my flights then offered no help to resolve, I ended up having to buy the same flights they already charged me for directly through the airline so I could actually get on my flight, then when I reached out for a refund from expedia for the original flight they charged me for they've completely disappeared and stopped responding to me. Luckily I have everything in writing (online chat and email) and am currently trying to dispute their charges with my bank! Expedia claims I have not provided them with invoices etc which is not true and I have proof! After they had no more excuses they just stopped responding!

I booked a rental car and wanted to add a hotel but would allow me any changes or cancel and rebook as a bundle even thought it was 3 weeks before I was taking my trip. As for a manager they say one would call me back but never did. Stay away from Expedia. Do not give refunds and terrible customer service.

If you you want one less headache in your life please do not book your ticket, hotel or car rental. They don't care about customer service they just want to take your money at any cost. And every agent you talk too will tell you different story regarding whatever it is your having an issue with it's an endless rollercoaster of bs.
